Forum member King Khan has let us know that his company, Journeys Shoes, will exclusively carry some Officially Licensed Thundercats Shoes. I talked to King Kahn and he was able to share some extra details about these unique items.
The shoes will be produced by Converse. There are Hightop Thundercats Sneakers for the guys and a pair of Cheetara themed shoes for the ladies! The Cheetara shoes feature felt around the cheetah spots for added detail and texture.
The shoes hit Journeys Shoes stores and website on June 1st, 2012. They will retail for $59.99. These are also limited in quantities, so be sure to get your orders in quickly if you want to own a pair. It is known that the logos on the characters are all backwards. Unfortunately, that was the way the art that was provided to Converse and approved by the licensors, which Journey's has no control over.

Thundercats.ws Forum Member Balgus82 wanted to share his own take on a fan made intro for the Modern Thundercats. This one is a bit more consistent in the clip quality and features some nice use of the show clips. Plus it has the Mumm-Ra transformation the other video was lacking. check it out below.
Today we wanted to showcase one of the customs from our forum. Today's Thundercats Customs Showcase comes from forum member Spurt Reynolds. He took the 6" Modern Panthro and did a complete repaint, bringing out the fine details of the figure. Check it out by clicking the DISCUSS button below.

Unfortunately, nothing of note came out of the UK Toy Fair for Thundercats fans. That will likely change when the North American Toy Fair begins in just a few short weeks. For now, Toy New Magazine's Facebook Page added some pics from the show. We've mirrored the Thundercats pics for easy browsing.
Check out a UK Toy Fair 2012 Day 1 video uploaded by Toy News Online. There is a quick look at the Augmented Reality Thundercats Packaging about mid way through.
Toy New Online is reporting that Underground Toys has been awarded a license to produce talking plush toys based on Thundercats. The plush toys will be based on the Modern Thundercats. They will come in both 4 inch and 9 inch sizes. They are expected to hit in the 3rd Quarter of 2012.
Bandai UK has posted a video on YouTube of their Augmented Reality Packaging. The video shows how you will be able to use a mobile device (so long as it has a camera) to check out a full view of a toy without taking it out of the packaging. They use Lion-O to showcase how it can work. Check it out below.
The Power-Con website has posted news that the Power-Con/ThunderCon convention will return again this year.
Experience the worlds of He-Man®, She-Ra™, and the ThunderCats™ brought together for one convention this September 2012!
Three of the 1980s most blockbuster properties are once again joining forces for their second annual fan convention. POWER-CON / THUNDERCON 2012 — a celebration of Masters of the Universe, Princess of Power, and ThunderCats all together for one great fan convention.
The convention is being presented at the Torrance Marriott South Bay Hotel in Torrance, California, on September 22nd and 23rd 2012. The hotel is located about 10 miles south of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Last year’s inaugural event was a hit with the fans of these properties, which presented two days worth of panels featuring talent that brought He-Man, She-Ra, and ThunderCats to life. “…the convention had a lot to offer fans. Panels focused on the big names in both Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats history,” said LAWeekly’s Liz Ohaneslan.
Power-Con / ThunderCon 2012 will be releasing more information soon including discounted room information, volunteer and exhibitor registration, ticket prices, guest lists, and detailed programming. What we can tell you now is the convention will once again be presenting an electrifying list of panels, an impressive exhibitor and collectible showroom, a wonderful charity auction, exclusive “Roast Gooble Dinner” Dinner event where lucky fans get to dine with the talent, and a “Masters Cast” After-Hours Mixer for fans to meet, mingle, and enjoy in fandom merriment.
