Way back in August 2012, Dan Norton revealed that WB had ceased production on Thundercats and that it would take "years to get it back on tv if we started today." Most fans moved on since then, with a few still holding out hope that someone, somewhere would get this show to continue. Well that can officially be put to rest.
"Guys, I love you. All of you for so much effort that has been spent trying to get TCats back on the air. I'm sorry though, it won't be coming back. Chima sealed the deal. It's the end of the road guys. Thank each and every one of you for all of your efforts and support. Maybe, someday, someone can try again."
So looks like it's back to the drawing board in the hopes that Warner Bros can someday resurrect this franchise in a successful way. It's a little twist of the knife to our hearts to have to read this again. But it was fun while it lasted and we'll all be right here for the next chapter of the franchise and we still have love from companies like Mezco and Icon Heroes.

I'm sure many of you have already seen most, if not all of these images. But right now, what else are we going to report on? Thundercats Art Director Dan Norton has always updated his Deviant Art Gallery with concept art. Since the last time we reported on his updates, he's added a lot more. Including alternate outfit concepts and never used characters. Even some concepts he pitched to Wildstorm, years ago, for their comic.
We've mirrored a bunch of them, but you can check out the rest at his Gallery.
Forum member Balgus82 pointed us to this video where we get a status (non) update on the Thundercats series. During the DC Nation panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, Thundercats producer Michael Jelenic is asked about the status of the Thundercats Cartoon. He passes the question onto Jeff Prezenkowski who answers with "We're waiting to see what's going on with it..." and "We'll see, we'll see. We haven't heard any word yet, but I guess we'll find out". Not the most reassuring answer. You can see for yourself below.
