Does Mummra have have his own "sword of omens"?

Take a look at some of the pics.

sure looks like Mumm-ra has his own version of a "claw shield" and "sword of omens". I think I actually like the concept a bit but it DOES make the sword of omens and claw shield less special. Perhaps Mumm-Ra makes these 'evil' versions in the show to try to even the odds?

Now that is an interesting concept, though I would think it would be a sword of mummies or something slightly different.

Pravus Prime 02-14-2011 06:17 AM

Yeah, I saw the same and posted such in the Toy Fair thread. It sure looks like Mumm-Ra has his own magic sword and a bone claw.

I don't know if it's to combat or if it's just the opposing objects are in Mumm-Ra's possession.

Could possibly be a part of the opening episodes of the show. Perhaps Mumm-Ra is in possession of the items at one point and they are twisted in his visage. Just a guess though.

Yeah I agree with Joe. I just assume that Mumm-Ra somehow gets a hold of both the sword and scabbard and they both get twisted in someway to his advantage. He realizes how much power the sword holds, but then loses it back to the thundercats. Thus, gives him the sole reason to hunt down the cats to get the sword.

I'm wondering if they'll go down the MOTU route and have the sword split in two with Mumm Ra obtaining the evil half while Liono wields the good.

The sword can split or Mumm-Ra has a doppleganger, but I hope there isn't more than one Eye of Thundera. Perhaps there's a Third-Earth Eye as well.

It's the sword of Plun-Darr apparently. I just watched a video from toy fair where they were talking about it.

That last image of Mumm-Ra is awesome.

In that last image the hilt of the sword at the figures base is the same as the one in his hand so, yeah, it does look like its a lot like the Sword of Omens that it gets larger when its power is called upon.

I'd like to see this happen in the show, more reason for me to like the figure!

The sword of Plundaar, it gets longer, but then it just ends up looking like Count Dooku's lightsaber.

prime01 08-07-2011 09:47 AM

It's the sword of Plundarr,it was in the original show.

Star Saber 08-13-2011 06:23 AM

Yeah, I just saw the toy in the other thread, it's awesome that they're using the sword of Plun-darr and the spider claw as a counterpart to the Sword of Omens and the Claw Gauntlet. I wonder if we're going to see Ratilla in the new show :)
