Dang those are beautiful photos!

I can't wait to take pictures of my own when he arrives!

dj7000 08-09-2011 02:29 AM

nice. hopefully the 4ich are as nicely poseable

Tracer 08-09-2011 06:43 PM

Can we get a side by side shot of Lion-o with Mumm-ra for scale purposes?

Tony_Bacala 08-09-2011 06:57 PM

Looks damn good. I still haven't seen these guys in stores yet. I keep going back and forth on whether on not I should do the 6's. Sonofa!

daroga 08-10-2011 10:21 PM

I'll post some new ones soon, as I just added a few more to the collection, but what I had a few days ago I posted here:

Thundercats 6 Inch Mumm Ra

6 Inch Mumm Ra Gallery

Did a quick gallery last night of Mumm Ra.

Gog - or anyone - is your Mumm Ra's legs super loose? This guy is wobblin all over the place for me. Hard to get him to stand other than standard positions.

Mintcondition 08-11-2011 11:55 AM

So nice!!! I can't wait to get my hands on the 6 inch figures! I only have the Classics right now.

Do you know how Mumm-Ra looks next to the Classic Lion-O? I wonder if he might be a good placeholder until Bandai makes a classic Mumm-Ra.

Hammerhand 08-11-2011 12:32 PM

Love the look of this Lion-O figure. Can't wait to score some of my own.

JohnnyAngel77 08-11-2011 12:53 PM

I ordered all 3 6" figures on Amazon over the weekend w/free shipping ($45 total). They just arrived a few minutes ago. These things look great. Can't wait for wave 2 to be revealed. My only beef is that being 6" figures, I think Lion-o should have been a flat 6" but he is a little less. Closer to 5.5" really. So Panthro is only right at 6" himself. So, wish they had been a little bigger to fit in with other 6" lines but its okay. They are Cats. I'll make it work.

Drake915 08-11-2011 01:07 PM

Those pics are awesome and you're killing me! My 6" Lion-O is still in his plastic prison as I figured I'd keep him in package next to his classic version I just got today. If I keep seeing these awesome pics he'll surely find a way to escape though :D

dj7000 08-11-2011 02:41 PM

is there a 4 inch line gallery?

squawkbot 08-11-2011 04:07 PM

Mummra has a dog face

Not all of them, BUT - we took these on location at SDCC. Not the cleanest shots, but gives you a good look at some of them.

Transformed 08-12-2011 07:12 AM

Those are impressive! Love the poses:D Mumm-ra looks like he'd rip a person's head right off. I only wish Lion-O had some sort of expression going on with his face:/

nitewing73 08-12-2011 10:28 AM

It's funny I know I've read on the forum that some people were on the fence about the 4inch line and just wanted to pick up the 6 inch line but I'm the opposite and I just may pick up some of the 6 inch offerings. Definitely will pick up Lion-O and Mumm-Ra.

Drake915 08-12-2011 08:14 PM

Anybody snag the Panthro yet? I've seen it, but was on the fence about how he looked. I'm thinking the character's personality on the show might sell him to me, but I'd like to get a better look than just in the box first. If anyone does have him, what do you think of him so far?

I love it. Panthro was always my favorite character. He's always been the muscle, now he looks the part too. I really dig the new look on him, more than anybody else. His figure is just as cool too. The head could use some up/down articulation but other than that, he's great. I can see why some don't want to pay $15 each for these but as much as I loved Thundercats as a kid, I only owned about 4 things from the entire line. This is my chance to buy up as much as I want as long as they keep making them. I hope the 6" line keeps going for a while, I dig them, a lot.

I have a question for those that have the 6" Panthro. Is he as blue/purple in-person as he is in pictures? or is he at all any closer to the gray he is in the show?

nomad16 08-25-2011 09:49 PM

if this figure had the wings like the 4 inch deluxe Id get it.

And does anyone know what the back tab plates are for??

Going off of the style sheet for Mumm-Ra, they're actually a design feature to his back. Also, a theory out right now is that they were designed to fill int he holes put there for a later release at a larger price-point with the addition of wings.

While the wings would have been cool, they would have taken away from the overall figures size, and would have just made his scale next to the other 6" figures even worse.

Not necessarily. They could fit wings in the packages of the 6 inch figures.

It isn't a question of fitting him plus wings in the packaging, but the amount of plastic those wings would be made out of. Much like Transformers size-classes, action figure price-points have a max amount of plastic allotted for them. Mumm-Ra would have to be shrunk down to allow for wings to be added, and to remain the same price-point at the same time.

He does, it's more neutral/stern but it's not a blank "B'gaw..." face like some pics make it out. It's mostly due to his white eyes blending in with his light face. Somebody on TFW added a little black to his eyelids and it makes a big improvement. (I'll be doing the same)

When it comes to the main heroes of brands like this I always prefer neutral/determined expressions because sometimes when you go for a grimace or smirk it either comes out looking at odds with the character or just... ugly. (see: Batman Legacy modern Batman)

He looks exactly as he does in pictures.

rodster6 08-26-2011 03:53 PM

I wish the handle of Mumm-ras sword was on the half with the eye jewel rather than the plain half. I don't like the double blade sword and would like him to just hold the eye half.

nomad16 08-26-2011 09:38 PM

does anyone know whats up with those little plates are on the back of mumm-ra?

They cover possible wing peg holes. Most likely a winged Mumm-ra will be released later, as it would not be cost effective to release the figure with wings at this price.

Thanks for the reply. That's...rather unfortunate. He's a nice dark gray in the show. Maybe the more blue-ish color will grow on me after seeing him in-person. Still, I can't pretend that a more accurate color would've been great...

Mintcondition 08-28-2011 02:38 AM

He's bluish gray in the show. It matches.

I disagree. He does sometimes have a very slight bluish tint to him, but most of the time he's completely gray. The heavy blue tint that the toy has in no way matches his in-show look.

Thunderbarber 08-28-2011 05:54 PM

Looks good! Can't wait for these to hit Canada!

You're being incredibly nitpicky.

How is wanting the toy of Panthro to have a similar color scheme to that of the Panthro in the show that the toy is based off of "nitpicky"?

To prove my point about his main fur color, here's a quick comparison I've made, using one of the HD screen-shots of the fifth episode, and GogDog's pictures (hope that's ok :o).

http://www.thundercats.ws/attachment...1&d=1314635802

Those two most certainly do NOT match.

kerowack 08-29-2011 01:05 PM

Agreed on the grey. It doesn't bother me much, but it's more like the color he would be at night.....

Balgus82 09-04-2011 06:13 PM

Well as for the color of Panthro, in different lighting he's different shades. The first picture was him in broad daylight.

This one is him in shadow, which is much closer to his toy counterpart.

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9048/panthro.jpg

The toys were made from the concept art and production images. the lighting in the show wouldn't have been taken into consideration.

Zombie F Body 09-05-2011 08:16 AM

When I got Mumm-Ra the wings didn't bother me but I hope they do do a 6" with wings after seeing that they are truly part of the characters design and not something that just pops out when needed. I'm sticking to the 6" (and Classics of course!) but the 4-inchers are calling to me and I don't think I can hold out much longer! I'd also love an all armored up version (Mumm-Ra the All Powerful?), too!

Great pictures, all! These figure are great, I'm constantly pulling them off the shelf and reposing them. Do it at least once a week (typically around 9pm on Fridays!).
