Im not arguing that. ST:TNG even says its a new iteration of the franchise and its NOT the same characters. what part of "The Next Generation" do you not get? ( patrick stewart wasn't playing a bald captain named James T kirk was he? )

You analogy is flawed from the start.

Much like the new T-cats show.
