There is a gap in tygra's and lion-o's age. Tygra was probably adopted before lion-o was born. Why would they need to adopt tygra if they have a son.

Plus I thought the SoO chose lion-o, not tygra.

The sword chose Lion-O, but he would've still been king without it. It just wouldn't have been as powerful in his hands if it hadn't chosen him.

Before Lion-O even touched the sword Jaga said "While you will one day wear the Crown, Lion-O, only the Eye of Thundera, source of our power, knows if there is indeed a King inside of you."

He had the Crown no matter what he did because he's the heir.
