That being said, sorry for adding to the clutter.

The problem that keeps occurring is very simple. Whenever people start talking about the episode, someone mentions a problem with the writing of the show, someone else argues with that person and says to give examples, and then the first person cites, among other things, the triangle, the second person then starts arguing why those examples aren't true. And the cycle continues.

So it's not willful derailing, it is actually discussing this episode, it's just a weird drift that keeps occurring because discussing the episode keeps sliding into talking about the show. It's actually kind of interesting to see it keep repeating itself.
