I don't think the "thing" he was talking about was the choice. He was definitely talking about Cheetara, but I just don't see the negative implications other people seem to.

It's like when someone says something like, "Oh you poor thing" when trying to comfort someone else. Is that an insult? Are they implying that they're no longer a person when they say it? Or that they should be treated as an object? Not if you ask me.
