Maybe it was so onesided that cheetara was going for lion-o that they wanted to throw those two episodes in to make it a true love triangle.

I just don't see how lion-o can go after cheetara unless she was mummra or she tells him she chose him a long time ago.

One more thing, why wouldn't she follow tygra around instead of tygra.

There has to be more to it and we are seeing a small picture. That would be very bad writing and I think the crew would pride themselves in thier profession.
