Other way is the writers did this sudden triangle scale flip is just to get kissing scenes for Lion-O/Cheetara (proper lip kiss later on) and Tygra/Cheetara to satisfy both fans.

Thus far the writers seemed to enraged mote fans than they've pleased. Looks like they might've miscalculated.
