i've never thought she was connected to the sword. why would she be? why is she different than any other cleric? she wasn't born a cleric, she was an orphan.

I've always been under the impression that she was following him around because she was assigned to personally guard him. the clerics were called the "guardians of the crown" and have been compared to the secret service by the crew.
