Help 2011 Thundertank Question

so two weeks ago i bought a thundertank..ive noticed though if i press the big black button sometimes it works somtimes it doesnt to get the thing to say thundertank fire

now ive thought maybe its the magnet in panthro but then i decded that it was not..so is my thundertank defective or are other people having this problem?

I can't get the sound on mine to work at all. I've tried plugging in Snarf and Panthro, and I made sure it's turned on.
