While these new toys are pretty great, there were a couple of issues that really bothered me. Here are my quick fixes:

All Figures; painted joints and pegs to match the surrounding color.

Cheetara; Painted back thingy to match her hair. Added wrist articulation.

Panthro; Painted his right eye to match the cartoon, added light grey paint to the sides of his nose, painted chest scar to stand out a little more, painted spikes that weren't painted, added chain to both sets of nunchucks.

Lion-O; Painted sword, painted straps on the back of his legs.

Snarf; Painted fur line across magnet thingy.

Mummy-Mumm-Ra; Gave him a Jaga-Lantern staff (courtesy of Cobra Commander), painted teeth and eyes.

Supah-Mumm-Ra; painted teeth, arm bandages, and eye on the sword.

Thanks for looking!

Good clean work on those.

Two things you did I am curious of:

Cheetara's wrists: Please share how you did this.
I am interested in doing this as well.
>Addendum: after seeing the image of her from the back
with zoom, it looks like a cut with a pin and channel
drilled into forearm.

The Lizard soldier's rifle where did it come from?
It kind of looks familliar, but I cannot place it.

I have a rigid wood grained replacement staff for my
Cheetara. I'm willing to share the recipe if there is interest.

Yup, for Cheetara's wrists, I sliced off her hands, drilled holes in each arm and hand, then inserted a metal rod in between the two pieces. Every once in a while they slide out a little, but they can be pushed back in easily enough.

The Lizard rifle is from my G.I. Joe fodder bin. It's some bulky ROC weapon that is too large for the Joes, but looks pretty decent for a lizard.

Thanks for the compliments, please share your Cheetara staff recipe, I'd be interested in trying it!

how did you customize the nunchucks? and I think you should have painted them as well.

Yeah, I thought about painting them, but that type of plastic doesn't really take paint very well. I wanted to paint Tygra's belt as well, but I just don't think the paint will hold up.

The nunchucks are joined with a bit of chain I picked up at a craft store. I cut the chain to the length I wanted, then crimped the ends and glued them into the holes where the plastic "chain" originally went.

Thanks for the info.
That was what I was thinking about that rifle. I will have to dig through my bits bin and see if I can find one in my 'Joe container/armory.

My staff recipe is a bamboo skewer (3 mm.) cut to length with about a mm. extra length on each end. I cleaned up the tips with a 500/1000 grit sanding block so they were flat with a little rounding.

For the color I mixed some paint to match the hue of her accessory and it's collapsed version on her fanny pack. It was a mix of the basic dirt brown, with yellow, and a little red.
(Recipe: Br:10, Ye:4, Rd:1.5/Testors Acryllic)

I dipped the tips first and then let them dry so it could be handled when I painted the rest of the staff. I layered it on pretty thick so the bamboo would soak it in.

After it was left to dry for a few hours, it was time to seal it.
For this I use "Pledge Wi/Future". I grabbed a plastic saucer and poured a little in the bottom and rolled the staff in it for a bit and let it marry to the paint some. Making sure it was completely covered from tip to tip. I took my finishing brush and smoothed the floor pollish down the staff till it started to set up. Then I left it alone to dry completely before I touched it again.

The neat part is that while it looks very plastic, it still has it's wood grain and is quite rigid. It looks like I hit the correct color, but it will not stain Cheetara's pale hands due to the sealant layer.

BTW:
You are correct on the Nunchucks. That plastic laughs at paint. It would be easier to recast them in the correct colors before any paint would adhere.

You may need to add a 1/2 or 1/4 of green to the yellow to get exactly the
correct shade for the staff. Mine is just the slightest tint more warm than
the staff she comes with.
