Hey all! I was lucky enough to pick up some sweet first shots (or commonly called prototypes) from our own forum member zerocool779. I only had the budget to pick up five of the first shots he had for sale, but I think I got some of the best ones.
For those of you not familiar with pre-production toys, first shots are the tests that the factory makes to test the molds that they created from the hardcopies. They typically use whatever plastics they want to either test or have laying around, so colors vary a lot (see Lion-O below). They also let the factory make sure that all the parts fit as intended from the plastic-injection mold. Sometimes they have a copyright printed on them and sometimes they don't because that hadn't been added to the mold yet. I find these figures extremely fun to collect because I am interested in the whole toy creation process, not just the end product. I also like them because they are very limited and only a few were made for each toy. Here is what I got: - 6" Tygra - 4" Lion-O (wave 1) - 4" Cheetara - 4" Panthro (wave 1) - 4" Deluxe Grune Enjoy the pics! -Bill |

I always loved looking at the half butt attempt of a thundercats logo on the lion-o. Awesome.

The pegs look better on these monstrosities than their finished product.
