Here are some pics of my newly upgraded sword of omens. I added a gloss varnish to the crossbars and replaced the eye piece(previously from the Bandai toy) with solid glass jewels(custom made myself). I hope you like my sword.
Here is a link to my original custom sword thread, so you can compare the old pics with the new upgraded version. http://www.thundercats.ws/custom-sword-omens-7718/ Last edited by THUNDER JEDI; 06-06-2013 at 05:05 PM.. |

I'm working on another eye piece that may look better than the one on there now. It has a darker eye, so shows up more obviously while the one on there now is subtle and only shows up in the right light(which is kinda cool). What do you guys think? Which eye do you like better, the one on the sword now or the one in the pic below?

Thanks. I agree that the darker eye looks better.
This completed project is turning back into a work in progress. I switched out the eye piece for the darker version and also switched out the blue jems in the hilt for light blue ones. I may still make a few more changes, but I think it looks alright for now. What do you guys think? |

If I may ask, how did you remove the original clear dome pieces from the sword? I just received one for my birthday and the condition it came in was atrocious. There is glue smeared all over the inside with finger prints, the thundercats symbols are warped and have holes in them, and one side is even filled with sawdust.
Luckily I haven't had any problems with the led lights crapping out yet so I want to try to remove the domes without breaking them. Then I want to strip the domes, cover the outside with red transparent adhesive vinyl sheeting. (Like you would use on a car tail light.) Then I want to get a thundercats logo for one side and do the eye strip on the other. |

It's very simple. Just pry them off with a small flat head screwdriver or knife.
