I was disappointed to see Lyno-x so early in the series.
I am looking forward to seeing how Panthro will emerge and I wonder if he will come in with the Thundertank or if that will be later on. |

I really thought we were gonna get to see Mumm Ra transform! that would have been crazy to see him and Claudius fight.

I'm tellin ya bro...I love this stuff! .
I love how lion o is wanting to help the lizards. I always thought Thats what made thundercats better than he man, at least for me. Don't get me wrong huge he man fan too but in he man the main story was protecting the power and then helping...thundercats lion o had the power and his first instinct was always to protect the less powerful. Just me...no offense. Just saying they really did lion o justice! Well done! |

Only thing that even came close to a disappointment, was Claudus's death. I was hoping they would blurr that bit a bit so he could maybe come back somehow later on (maybe blind him like in the original). I would say Jaga is dead too, but he could have survived that, or he could pull a Kenobi and ghost his way through the rest of the series. Will just have to wait and see. Who knows, maybe Claudus will be this show's equivalent of Jaga, lol. |

The new snarf is cute, but you get a strong sense of the Japanese influence in his character now. Im betting the only reason he doesnt still spam his name is because he would essentially be a Pokemon these days. They had to differentiate him for the new generation of kids watching these days. Although i have to say the dark fantastical overtones might be to much for kids today |

I thought that was him, but wasn't entirely sure. Would be nice if he showed-up again later on.

Iwas thinking maybe the book of omens would hold the spirits of all past kings. That would be awesome if they guided Lion O.

I thought them not trying to re-invent an opening theme song and replacing it with a very epic sounding monologue was pure genius.

Really still can't believe how high quality this was. I just hope every episode keeps up the animation and story quality. I'm sure there will be fillers here and there, but as long as they are close to this, I'll be happy.

The growls were definitely awesome.
Kinda off-topic, but I tried out the popcorn recipe from the party pack. Not bad, but I'll definitely be changing it up the next time I go to make it. Ended-up way too soggy. Halving the amount of the butter/sugar/cinnamon mixture would definitely help, imo. |

Wow. One of my favorites as a kid I forced my kids to watch this. They complained at first and then thought it was a good show. Great to me however. Right up there with Prime. Gonna love watching this playout.

I am interested in how kids take to this. I think they nailed it with adults, via nostalgia and more adult tone, but still not sure if the kids will take to it. Has potential, but could go either way.

I think it was because they were clerics....that's what I got from it. I think if it was because they were cheetahs they wouldn't have been surprised that cheetara was a cleric...just a thought

It depends on the kid. I think that they'll like it. If they're into that sort of thing in the first place, they'll love it.

Spoilers below! *spoilers!* it does make me wonder just how many thundercats survived though. obviously they had a huge kingdom, and i doubt everyone in the kingdom was in that shelter. Last edited by dolza_khyron; 07-29-2011 at 11:36 PM.. |

From the TFW board:

Dear sirs:
With all the remakes of late (SW Prequals, JJ Abrams Star Trek, Bay-formers, Voltron Force, et al.) I am sutibly impressed. Not only have you brought back a series, while staying true to it's source, and managed to include nods to it's past (catch phrases, key sequences, etc) WITHOUT making it corny or forced. YOU HAVE DONE IT AND EXCEDED THE QUALITY OF THE ORIGINAL MATERIAL!!! I am humbled. Because so many producers of late had been given the opertunity to play with great franchises and have turned them into utter drek. I thought it was no longer possible. You have proven me wrong, nay sir RESTORED MY HOPE! Long live the THUNDERCATS! ('11)
looking forward to how the various races will interact over the course of the series. Not all cats are noble, and not all mutants are evil.
|

I just joined because I needed a place to discuss this wonderful reboot. I was (still am) a huge Thundercats fan growing up...I remember going to school in my Thundercats pajamas because I loved them so much. It was a great show.
This new re-boot is the first time I've ever seen any animated show done right without a hint of remorse from me. They gave us a great send-off giving Larry Kenny one more last "Ho", and they made Panthro an extremely flawed character right off the bat by giving him the connection with Lion-o's father's death. How that blends into the story is going to be epic I feel. All of the characters feel real, and even more likeable...Cheetara is hot, too, hahah. Art was awesome, only thing it's missing is it's theme music, to be honest. Snarf was so much better this time around, less annoying. Mumm-Ra...holy crap, they got him spot on. And I personally love the fact that we didn't get to see his big transformation so early in the series. That was a powerful moment, I think...and I think they got it spot on, too. All in all, I am extremely excited for this new series. They paid homage to the original while creating a whole new legend to love. Can't wait for the next episode! I am honestly blown away. I don't believe how true they stayed to the source material while at the same time being completely different.
The voice acting, the sound, the animation and the story were all top of their class. I don't prefer it -at least not yet. But I don't mind this version at all. I think so. Cartoon Network normally reairs their shows to death. |

Ancient spirits of evil...transform this decayed form...into Mumm-Ra...the ever...LIVING!!
I thought it was fantastic! Even though I thought the plot was pretty predictable, I enjoyed immensely. The only thing I didn't like was Mumm-Ra's voice. It just didn't evil enough to me. Then again I've spent the past 2 days watching the first season. |

Didn't mention it earlier, but I have to admit, I REALLY like this new take on Snarf. He's no-longer an annoyance, yet he's still an outlet for some comedy. Him making faces in the rock that Grune brought was hilarious, and will make for a great background. I really hope he gets released outside of the Thundertank, and a plush version would be great too. It would indeed be epic if someone could figure out how to genetically engineer a breed of Snarf cats (and I'm not even a cat person, lol). Last edited by Ravenxl7; 07-30-2011 at 12:19 AM.. |
