ACToys.net has shared a small gallery of the upcoming Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Optimus Prime recolor. This recolored Optimus Prime draws inspiration from his Transformers Prime deco, and includes the twin buster guns and twin swords that Movie Optimus Prime uses heavily in his first two big screen outings. All in all, it is looking like this figure is great both as a redeco, and as accessories for the first Cyberverse Optimus Prime - by combining both sets of accessories, you will have the ultimate screen-accurate Movie Optimus Prime at pocket size.
The redeco Cyberverse Optimus Prime will be a part of the third assortment of Cyberverse Commanders alongside Decepticon Hatchet. |

News out of the BotCon camp has revealed yet another guest to attend this year's convention in Pasadena. This time it is the voice of the Generation 1 Carly, Arlene Banas!
From the BotCon guest announcement posting: ARLENE BANAS voiced Carly, who was the love interest of Spike Witwicky in the original G-1 Transformers series. In addition to Carly, she also voiced Allegra and Ynara on two additional episodes of the show. This makes a total of 9 guests announced for this year's convention so far, 8 of which are G1 related, and 5 of which had some sort of involvement in the 1986 animated film which celebrates it's 25th anniversary this year. |

We have received the word from IDW regarding the Trade Paperback’s of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Movie Prequels; Foundation & Rising Storm.
Both TPBs are to release this May 18th along with the final issue of Transformers: Foundation. Just to recap the fan reaction towards both series… TFW2005 Members were extremely pleased with the storytelling of John Barber, who connected all the previous movie adaptation, prequel and sequel comics with one seamless narration. His efforts were complemented with Andrew Griffith’s art and Priscilla Tramontano’s coloring. Carlos Magno was the artist of Rising Storm. Brian Rood joined the team to do the covers along with Griffith. Let’s see what IDW has to say about their Trade paperbacks… Continue reading to findout the news. Oh, BTW... The Trade Paperback covers are now different than what we saw previously. |

A set of new officially licensed Transformers products for the 2010-2011-2012 Camaro has hit the automotive stores just in time for Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon. This time it a set of aluminum billet locking gas doors featuring the Autobot Symbol or the Transformers Logo.
While this is not super news on it's own, they are the first officially licensed Transformers items for the Camaro since the 2009 Transformers Package offered by GM. So Transformers branding on the Camaro is not done quite yet. Will GM and Hasbro release a Bumblebee package for the upcoming ZL1, which has similar body styling to Transformers 3 Bumblebee already? Only time will tell! To see a full list of all the new Transformers items, including 4 gas doors, and 2 hitch covers, plus some door sills, read the fully story! |

A small update for you now on the upcoming second assortment Dark of the Moon Human Alliance Basic Tailpipe. We've got a new in package picture of the guy, coming to you via the Transformers Collectors Club store. He's looking good, and this new image confirms that his Mini-con partner is going to be named Pinpointer. Pinpointer, for this wondering, is a callback to the Generation 1 Targetmaster partner to Crosshairs. The new version eschews Pinpointer's original colors, though, in favor of the more traditional Targetmaster black deco. Maybe he might get a recolor in red and gray later?

Everybody’s counting down the days leading to Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The most spectacular thing about the movie series is the visual effects, namely the CGI Cybertronians.
Industrial Light and Magic of George Lucas and Michael Bay’s own Digital Domain help create the visual spectacles with their talented artists. ILM recently uploaded two behind-the-scenes videos (nope, not Transformers 3… from the first movie) to let us know of the hard work they are doing. If this writer may quote a portion from the article posted at Collider… “...The scene in question involves Megatron and Optimus Prime flying through a building mid-battle. To achieve the effect, ILM constructed a 1/4 size model of the building that took up an entire sound stage. As a result, the falling debris has a far more realistic and tactile quality than would ever be possible with digital effects. It’s nice to know that ILM still has a commitment to producing old timey model effects. While CGI might offer more fluidity and control than was ever possible with practical effects, there’s just something more believable about a physical effect. It’s always easier to buy something that clearly once existed in the real world rather than simply on a computer...” Take a look at both videos by following the links below: Embedding disabled, that's why... |

As you may have heard (or pretty much expected) Transformers: Dark of the Moon has been rated. And it’s PG-13.
MPAA is describing the rating as follows… “Intense prolonged sequences of sci-fi action violence, mayhem and destruction, and for language, some sexuality and innuendo.” Trailbreaker of S4TE who kindly provided me with an insight of this rating states that this rating is very similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides rating. “Intense prolonged sequences of sci-fi action violence, mayhem and destruction” refers to the Robot Duels, Baysplosions, Decimated Chicago and the Human Death that takes place throughout the movie. "Language" may refer to the use of swear words in the movie. "Some sexuality and innuendo" may or may not refer to any jokes relating to the subject matter. This portion of the rating may direct towards the scenes with Model/Actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley where… hem hem… AICN describes as “who doesn't need an occasion to dress in the tightest clothes imaginable”. As for “innuendo”… well, Michael Bay once stated, are toned-down jokes rather than what we saw on Revenge of the Fallen. Hit the Discuss button to share your point of view regarding the rating. Transformers: Dark of the Moon arriving to theaters July 1st, 2011. |

Some countries only get a Transformers movie quite a while after the theatrical release around the world. (This writer’s home country; Sri Lanka got Revenge of the Fallen full month behind the worldwide release).
Here’s a news that will please Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi Transformers Movie Fans. After a tip I received from one of my closest friends, both of us decided to investigate why our theater is advertising a 1st of July release date for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. As it turns out, Popular Indian media corporation; Viacom18 has acquired license from Paramount Pictures International to release the movie to the people of above stated countries (India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) around the same time as the rest of the world. Transformers 3 is the first project to be carried out in this manner followed by J.J. Abrams' Super 8 and later with Mission Impossible 4. One of our local newspapers published Haresh Chawla, CEO of Viacom18 stating “Viacom18 Motion Pictures has built up a very strong presence in the movie business in a short span of time and this strategic alliance with a global major like Paramount Pictures will open up myriad possibilities that will help us further strengthen our presence in this space". What can we say to those who worked really hard to bring the movie to the countries as quickly as possible? Thank You, Thank You, Very Much! (Update: While I was typing this article, a quick word from the Sri Lankan theater; Liberty Cinema explains that the Sri Lankan release has been pushed back to July 8. We waited for two years... one week is A-OK!) |

iGear has updated their website with a teaser image for their partner product PP05. The image shows what looks like Ironhide, with the tagline "such heroic nonsense", the last words Ironhide ever heard in the Transformers animated movie in 1986.
Could Ironhide be the next unofficial custom release in this not-Transformers not-Masterpiece line? If so, will he be an all-new design, or like the first three iGear PP series will he be a copy of an existing Transformers design (our money's on Alternators Optimus Prime with different shoulders if that is the case) The teaser says to pay attention to TFSource's booth at Botcon, and that whatever it is is coming in fourth quarter 2011. So we do not have long to wait to unravel this mystery. |

Participating at a press conference, Michael Bay and James Cameron discussed the challenges and benefits of 3-D moviemaking at Paramount Studios on Wednesday.
Mr. Bay then showed 15 minutes of assorted footage to the audience. It is said that the opening sequence of Transformers: Dark of the Moon was revealed at the event. And what did that contained? It’s a story to be told in few minutes. "I came up with that building sequence while I was doing stomach crunches," Bay said after the footage played. "That's the weirdest place I've ever come up with an action scene." "I just watched the movie and couldn't tell the difference between digital and film," Cameron said. "This movie is a testament to the fact that it's indistinguishable to the eye." You can read more at Yahoo! and Collider. Beware, Spoilers!!! Saving the best (or at least, the most local to myself) for last, the store exclusive Sidearm Sideswipe and 2007 Movie Bumblebee Recolors have also been released - this time in the UK. Yes, the UK is getting these exclusives, which are Walmart Exclusive in the US, at Sainsburys stores. Member dkreed7 who made the sighting reports there is also a tag on shelves for the Deluxe Class Optimus Prime, another Walmart exclusive.
There's no word on if these Walmart US exclusives are going to be exclusive to Sainsburys in the UK, like the Ravage Infiltration set, or if they are going to be more widely available, as for example a shared exclusive between Sainsburys and the Walmart-owned Asda. One final note is that the UK will be getting the Scan Series Toys R Us exclusives; they will be Toys R Us exclusives in the UK as well. |

It's a pity too, because this is the assortment with the cool Legion Class Wrecker Leadfoot and Dread Crowbar in it. Mudflap Ratchet and Bolt Bumblebee round out the assortment.

Michael Bay uploaded the 3D edit of the Transformers Dark of the Moon trailer to Youtube. There are a couple of bits of new footage in there, such as an awesome panoramic view of the inside of the Ark, Optimus ejecting a cartridge from his gun, Bumblebee jumping into the screen over an obstacle, and a new clip of what is potentially a major battle. You'll have to check out the trailer to see that last one, we're not spoiling that for you! Check it out below:

It just goes to show - take the site down for one little bit of scheduled maintenance and when we get back, BOOM! lotsa news. This bit of news comes to us from a Toys R Us down in San Antonio, Texas - the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wave 3 has been spotted! Less than a week after the official launch, the third assortment of Deluxes - which features Mudflap, Laserbeak, Thundercracker and Nitro Bumblebee - has been found and purchased. Thank 2005 Boards member raiden225005 for this bit of news - even if your wallets don't.

Update: A video from the Discussion Session is now available online. You can take a look at the YouTube and Vimeo version of the same video after the jump. Full video coming next week. Here we are bringing you the IDW August 2011 Transformers Solicitations.
Nothing related to the Movie Franchise. Maybe it’s too early to tell or maybe as Michael Bay stated… It all ends with Transformers: Dark of the Moon. This is the month where Transformers: Chaos is set to start. You can read our exclusive interview with Mike Costa and Livio Ramondelli regarding the series, right here. Without further introduction, here are the books…

Three is the lucky number today! Good things come in threes, and we've got three sets of new official wave three toy images for you! First up, we have official images of Dark of the Moon Voyager Wave 3 Fireburst Optimus Prime, and he's looking fine with his darker deco contrasting against the vibrant firey reds and oranges. He was accompanied by official images of Shockwave, who is actually a part of wave 2, but is being repacked as a part of wave 3 as well.
Next up, we have official images of the recently released Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wave 3. Nitro Bumblebee, Mudflap, Thundercracker and Laserbeak make up this assortment, and these images make all of them look pretty cool - especially Laserbeak with that huge wingspan. Last but by no means least, Human Alliance Basic Wave 3 is covered by these official pictures! Wave 3 brings us a redeco of Sandstorm from Wave 1 in gray and black, possibly an urban camo or lunar buggy deco. He is joined by an all-new mold - and that's the guy you can see to the left. Yes, Decepticon Drag Strip is back and joining the ranks of the Human Alliance series. He's looking very sharp in his traditional color scheme, and has a couple of throwbacks to his Power Core Combiners cousin Overrun - although we're pretty sure this is Drag Strip thanks to some Walmart listings that ATT's Zobovor uncovered some time ago. Official photography of the assortment is rounded out with some new images of the Wave 2 Human Alliance Basics Whirl and Tailpipe, who are looking awesome. These images come to you via 4Chan. Read on to check them all out. |

2005 Boards member Snake_eyes1975 has shared with us a rather interesting scan from Dark of the Moon Laserbeak's instructions - check it out to the left. That's a new head sculpt! Hasbro evidently are continuing their trend of hinting at potential future remolds by featuring the new heads in their instruction manuals. Laserbeak's instructions feature one such new head - and it's a pretty mean looking bird all things considered. Could this be the emergence of Movie universe Buzzsaw?

Big news for Auto Assembly - and also for Nordcon! Nordcon, which as you may recall was organized by the NTFA, have partnered with the crew from Auto Assembly to bring you a new European Transformers convention! Auto Assembly Europe will be organized by the combined teams of Auto Assembly and Nordcon, and will be held in Sweden this fall. This partnership will give Europe a Transformers convention of its own, the Transformers convention that Europe deserves.
A bright new star is rising for Transformers fans in Europe, for those who cannot travel to the US for Botcon or to the UK for Auto Assembly, now you too have a convention within reach. This partnership promises great and unmissable conventions for the UK and for Europe. Check out the official announcement video for this partnership - with an awesome retrospective of past Auto Assemblys - below: |

Back in March, we found confirmation of a Walmart exclusive bundle for Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon, featuring Optimus Prime(repaint of Battle Blades Optimus Prime with the unmasked head sculpt and hook swords used on the TakaraTomy Autobot Alliance release) with Comettor(repaint of Landmine). This set was released earlier this month and has been making its way across the country.
The question is, is this Optimus Prime with Comettor set worth it? To answer that question, I have posted a photo intensive pictorial review. Read on to check out how this set turned out! |
