3rd party group, Maketoys, has finally released un-blurred photos of the upcoming figures for their Giant custom combiner. The first of the six, not-Scavenger, was shown un-blurred at the beginning of October. Now we can get a good look at all six individual components to Giant and how exactly they differ from the characters they're originally based on. This set will be released in two packs in a yellow G2 color scheme.
Take a look at the images after the jump. |

Just a quick note - the NYCC Exclusive Unit:E comic book by Hasbro is now available at Hasbro Toy Shop. This book features a new look at Hasbro's properties new and old, setting up a "one universe" scenario for the first time. Along with the properties listed below in the official description, there are also brief one frame cameos for Transformers and G.I. Joe in there, showing that this initiative - when it gets off the ground, could affect us as Transformers fans. I've read the book, and IMO if you are a fan of these properties, any of them, the book is worth a look. Sets the tone for things to come.
Grab your copy here. Official Description: UNIT:E is a 24-page magazine in full color and fully illustrated by some of today's top-name creators. It takes a unique approach to Hasbro's catalog of heroes by fitting some within a narrative framework and placing them, for the first time, in one universe. This book answers every child's favorite question: "what if?" UNIT:E plays within this imagined scenario, examining Micronauts, Jem and the Holograms, Candy Land, Stretch Armstrong, Battleship: Galaxies, Action Man, and M.A.S.K among others. In addition to these fan-favorites, UNIT:E also introduces two new entities-Unit:E itself and Primordia. Hasbro's internal creative team "Haslab" created this project and is excited to present this unique look at some of Hasbro's most popular characters for its most passionate fans. The creators had fun with this and they hope the fans have fun reading it! Ages: Adult |

3rd Party Group, Igear, has updated their Facebook page with two updates. One is for the recently announced Kup and Perceptor weapons. This set will come with a Sniper rifle and two hand guns for Reveal The Shield Perceptor and two hand guns for Generations Kup. The other update is for their upcoming PP05 and PP06 figures aka not-Ironhide and not-Ratchet. The pics for that update include a look at the many weapons and accessories for the figures as well as the figures themselves unassembled and still on their plastic sprues. It does look like progress is being made on the two figures!

Some information reached us a few days ago from several Japanese Rakutan stores (via 2005 boards member Masabon) of a potential new Transformers Movie series Bumblebee. Yes, we know, how much love can that yellow Autobot handle, but please bear with us.
Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have also received the solicitation, however they have also released an image of the mystery recolor. This Neoscanning Bumblebee appears to be the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Bumblebee with a new deco - more silver for the body parts, a lighter yellow for the car parts, and different stripes, narrower and closer to the middle of the hood, and not carrying on across the roof like on the regular release. Masabon reports that this toy will be available after the release of Dark of the Moon on Blu Ray and DVD in Japan on 16 December. It remains to be seen if there are any other changes to be made, and exactly how limited or exclusive this version of Bumblebee will be. |

We’ve told you at the Hasbro's Investor Day 2011, they showed everyone who was there, a trailer for their upcoming HUB Transformers Cartoon for little kids; Transformers: Rescue Bots. TFW2005 was the first to let everyone in on the new Hasbro initiative back in last March by revealing exclusive concept art thanks to Matrix Soul of the 2005 Boards.
Media people listening in at the 2011 event online, were only able to hear the trailer, even that was barely audible. Despite everything, we were able to transcript what we heard and here we are revealing the details for the first time. We expect the trailer to hit the internet in the coming weeks, for the show is due to start in December. (the episodes are handed over to the Hub next week). Running with the idea of “Big Boy Brands In Little Boy Hands”, Transformers: Rescue Bots will educate little kids regarding Hazards & Safety. After all, “Knowing Is Half The Battle”. As for the transcript, read on after the jump my friends! |

The Transformers the Ride blog have released a video talking about the process of creating the all-new Autobot character who will act as a guide (and also, the vehicle) for guests enjoying the new ride. His name is Evac, and yes, he's getting a couple of toys (a Deluxe and a Cyberverse, both mainstream release and also at the parks, possibly with different decos to make the park versions that bit more special). Check out the video below:

The TFC Toys Dino-Combiner robot is an unusual one. Sometimes we see pics and it looks a lot like a combiner set of Dinobots, other times we see new pics that push it back the other way. These latest images posted on ACToys push it squarely back into the "not actually the Dinobots" camp. The deco of the five as indicated is gray and black, with some colored highlights such as red. In the pics you can also see the partner release of this piece, the TFC Toys Star Cats Star Rescue, a completely non Transformers related piece.

A fun sub-series of Transformers merchandising from Japan are the Transformers Kabaya kits. These "candy toys" are sold in Japanese grocery stores and come with a piece of candy - gum usually - and a model kit. The main appeal's the model kit of course. Transformers have had such model kits since the 1980s and these have recently undergone a bit of a revival, with both new takes on existing characters and also an all-new character in the form of Gaia Cross. Transformers Generations 2011 volume 1 featured an interview with Mr. Koutaro Hayashi and Mr. Masakazu Kunimitsu, who are working on the current series of Transformers gum. It's a short but very insightful interview, translated into English for your enjoyment by 2005 Boards staff member SydneyY! Read on and check it out!

We're back with another new Transformers toy gallery! This time we're taking a look at a Dark of the Moon toy that's exclusive to Japan - Dark of the Moon Vortex! Vortex was a remolded version of the excellent Hunt for the Decepticons Tomahawk with a new weapon - a remolded version of Roadbuster's chainsaw weapon. He's also got a new head which combines the original Generation 1 style with a healthy amount of modern reinterpretation. Overall? Vortex is a great little toy who fits in well with Classics or the Movie universe. Check out our gallery by clicking on the link below - all photos are by the talented SydneyY of our 2005 Boards!

Some new images have been posted over on Screamscape of the new Transformers the Ride, opening at Universal Studios Singapore next month. These new images show off the attraction's giftshop - complete with an awesome display of Transformers toys - and some ones posted over the last couple of weeks also show off the cafe that accompanies the ride. It's all looking very appropriately NEST and Autobot! Will the version opening in California next year look as sharp as this? We can only hope!

According to Hasbro, they have big plans for Transformers: Prime. An entire season went by without seeing a single toy but we are now slowly seeing Transformers: Prime toy releases. The first wave is hitting shelves and by the time January we will see them all over the world. Majority of the fans are looking forward to the Deluxe and Voyager releases and we also have Cyberverse figures heading our way in the future.
But, a little known fact is the Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime Blaster. This blaster is the first Role Playing toy from the series and it’s actually two blasters in one toy. The toy is also associated with the Tagline of the Transformers: Prime Toyline. “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings... and toys are the right of all Earthlings!” Description: Freedom is the right of all sentient beings... and toys are the right of all Earthlings! Direct from Hasbro comes this exciting toy gun from Transformers Prime. Join Optimus Prime and his friends as they defend Earth from Decepticons and otherworldy menaces. Unfortunately, we don’t have an image of the blaster to share with you. But I’m sure Hasbro will provide us with the official image soon. Also in mid 2012, Reader’s Digest is set to release a Puzzle Book for little kids. We have with us a sneak peek of the book’s cover and it does feature never-before-seen Transformers: Prime character poses (wonder if these images are from the second season?). The puzzle book is 96 pages and will cost you $8.99 (the price may vary). It is set to release on 5th June, 2012. Description: Inspired by the Transformers Prime animated series, Transformers Super Search is jam-packed with all kinds of visual puzzles that are guaranteed to provide hours of entertainment. Puzzles include Transformers-themed mazes, picture puzzles like see & find and matching games, spot the difference activities, memory games, and much more. Visually striking Transformers art makes this book stand out from the puzzle pack! After the Michael Bay Movie Trilogy Era, Hasbro is moving forward with the Transformers: Prime line. Hopefully, we will see some more awesome episodes from the upcoming season two and a strong toyline to please the fans. Don’t forget to take a look at our Resources Section for more upcoming toys and games from Transformers: Prime. |

The new image gives a little indication of what this design will be, although it is a bit of a departure from your traditional Cliffjumper look. He's got a vehicle mode based on a Porsche 924s and there will be a Bumblebee reshell according to previous information on PP04.

They're yellow and black decoed in the style of the Generation 2 Constructicons - by account, a giftset release of the six following later may be in Generation 1 colors. Priced at 10,500 yen and standing 15cm tall, they are reportedly due for a December release. Also in this update is artwork of all six Giant members in color - giving an idea of what the remaining four will look like.

So let's check out a few auctions for the holy trinity of Transformers collecting.

This past weekend, Transformers writer extraordinaire Simon Furman was a guest at Auto Assembly Europe in Uppsala, Sweden. 2005 Boards member SmokescreenSWE had a chance to interview Mr Furman about Transformers comics, future plans and of course Transformers 81. There's not a lot Simon could share about Transformers 81 - but he does mention a couple of things of interest. For one, in this new series, dead will probably mean dead - no miraculous resurrections. There are a few characters Simon killed off who he felt maybe ought to be brought back, although he doesn't want to resurrect past characters without good reason. Also of interest is the art style - the book will be retro in its look, going back to the feel of the older comics.

An item we've not really reported on previously due to the fact it's got nothing to do with Transformers is the TFC Toys Star Cats Star Cat Rescue robot. It's based on a Chinese CGI show and has nothing to do with Transformers really.
Well, except for this possible recolor. It seems the Star Cat Rescue toy is getting a recolor based on Generation 1 Defensor. Reportedly it's a limited run of 1000 pieces and will have a Defensor styled head (and if the enclosed sketch is anything to go by, a Defensor chest too). We're not sure if the reported two set release for the regular version will also apply to this one. Or indeed if this means a more Generation 1 inspired deco for the Dinobot set might be planned. |

His honest response is that he has been told it would be early 2012 (he figures late January to early February) and not November 28 as previously reported.
Before all of you assume that Hasbro or The Hub misinformed the fandom with the November date, please remember: plans change. We at TFW2005 believe the original plan may have been for this month, but that the complexity of the series and the dedication of all involved to make the best show possible led to the new season being put back. Some other interesting information is covered in the brief Q&A, including how the cast was chosen (surprisingly Jeff Kline does not consider Starscream as a must-have character, only the other three members of the big four, Optimus Bumblebee and Megatron), plus addressing the subject of Andy Pessoa's changing voice and his continued role as Raf. Don't worry - he's staying on. Check out the full Q&A on the Transformers Facebook page. |

Coming in March 2012 from IDW is GI Joe Classics Volume 14. This volume collects issues 135 to 145 of the original run of Marvel GI Joe comics - and includes the four issue arc of issues 139 - 142. These four issues were a crossover with the Transformers and were released as a prequel to the then-upcoming Transformers Generation 2 comic series, and explains where Megatron got his new tank body from that series. This is one of the few times these rare issues of the Generation 2 comic canon have been reprinted and are worth checking out if you are a fan of the Generation 2 comic series. Check out the preorder listing at Amazon.

Renderform have updated their Facebook wall with images of the bonus gun parts that will come with the early bird run of their Gold Scout custom kits. The blue Generation 1 styled head kit comes with a blue gun, while the toy matching black kit similarly comes with a black gun. The gun reportedly is based on the one used by Goldbug in the Headmasters series.

The sets ALSO come with not only a small holographic driver for the jet, but also a small, and scaled model of Bumblebee who is also decoed in a different style depending on which set you purchase (Movie 1 Bumblebee with Movie 1 Starscream, ROTF/DOTM Bumblebee with ROTF/DOTM Starscream.) The sets will be available starting on December 25th.
