We've not one but two bits of news for you tonight regarding the UK's Transformers / G.I. Joe convention Roll Out Roll Call! First of all, tickets are now available! At £26 for the whole weekend (or £16 for a day pass) it represents a great value weekend. There's a total of nine guests from both Transformers and G.I. Joe attending the convention. Second is a bit of news on those guests. Two more were announced earlier today, complete with awesome G.I. Joe styled biocards. 3rd Party Group, Justittoys, has updated their Facebook page with a new image of their upcoming World's Smallest Transformer Sixshot! This new image shows the tiny little six changer in the palm of someone's hand for maximum tiny devastation!

Additionally, they've posted an image of a concept they're working on. The image shows an arm of an upcoming robot, but it's not clear specifically who it is they're working on.

Botcon have updated their homepage with new images of the Botcon 2012 exclusive Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus. Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus as previously confirmed by images on the Botcon 2012 registration page is a Diaclone Powered Convoy styled recolor of Reveal the Shield Laser Optimus Prime, these new images give a clearer look at the new head sculpt being used on this piece - a head which together with the predominantly blue detail makes this piece a unique release all of its own in the eyes of this writer.

Check the images out on the Botcon homepage.

The Evil Autobots Facebook page has been updated with a close up look at that new head on Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus. The new head is an interesting one - on closer inspection, it's a crystal skull with a cracked and warped version of the Optimus Prime helmet around it. It's two parts demonic Optimus Prime head and one part medieval war helmet. While it's not much like an Ultra Magnus head, it does a good job at being some kind of corrupted, dark reflection on a Prime - and perhaps that's the character behind this take on Ultra Magnus.

In any case, does this change your view on the toy? Does it make it easier for you to accept as a different character (or repurpose as someone else entirely in your collection)? Sound off on our 2005 Boards by hitting that discuss button!

2005 Boards member bigspenders76 has shared some interesting images - in-hand images of upcoming Transformers Prime toys in package. These toys include the Deluxe Wheeljack, Cyberverse Commander Bulkhead, and Cyberverse Legion Bumblebee and Vehicon. These packages - the European multilingual packaging - suggest that we are getting bios on the packaging. Time will tell if this is for real.

In the meantime, enjoy these in-package images - it's worth noting that these come from the backroom of an Argos store, a UK catalog store chain who are launching their spring / summer catalog next Saturday. With these evidently in the stock rooms, could we be seeing an earlier than the advertised March release date for the Transformers Prime toys in the UK? Watch this space!

Takara-Tomy's Twitter account has provided some new images of five more campaign exclusive Microns, mostly based on recolored Power Core Combiner Mini-Cons. Of the five shown in this tweet, Autobot Peaceman is one we've seen before. The others seem to include a clear yellow and a solid gray version of Leadfoot's Pinpoint, a solid gray version of Blowpipe, and a clear green version of Universe Cyclonus' Targetmaster, Nightstick.

A further tweet confirmed that the clear yellow Pinpoint would be named "Firebolt Clear Yellow Version" and would be exclusively available at the New Generation World Hobby Fair 2012. Takara-Tomy recently updated their own website with information on this event, including details of how children would be able to vote for their favorite Transformers Prime character and would receive a Micron gift for doing so. While not named on the Takara-Tomy page, it's likely that this Firebolt Clear Yellow Edition is the exclusive Micron which they refer to.

The solid gray version of Pinpoint in itself is interesting as it was used in the Generations 2011 comic strip as a Targetmaster partner for an as-yet unmade Classics Artfire. However given its name is Firebolt it seems that logically it might actually be intended as a companion piece to the upcoming United Rodimus Prime, whose 1987 Targetmaster toy had a partner named Firebolt.

While the volcano playset is missing the Autobot's crashed shuttle, The Ark, this item does feature; a flip down Teletran-1 computer, is compatible with Legends, Cyberverse or Heroes of Cybertron Figures and opens up into a small base. Sky.ap.teacup.com has posted an article which shows a Transformers Prime display from World Hobby Fair, held in Osaka. Curiously enough, a retooled version of Transformers Prime Voyager Optimus Prime was on display, with:
  • New Autobot logos on the shoulders
  • Silver shoulder stripes
  • All new shoulder cannon
  • All new Sword
  • 5mm ports on the forearms
In the midst of the discussion, 2005 boards member tackertackle came out of nowhere and supplied the following info:

The panel in 6th picture says that this (or these?) weapon has a secret
and it will be revealed in Korokoro comic magazine April issue (which will out on March 15th).

I think (the)blade-like weapon is same as the one which is in teaser image with new mold voyager optimus.

In any case, looks like come April, TakaraTomy has a more G1-inspired(deco-wise) Optimus on the way for the Transformers Prime line! Check out this "new" Prime for yourself after the jump!

Some early CGI renders are attached to this post.

The second update from Mastershooter regards that first series of Targetmasters - they should be going up for preorder "within a couple of days".

Here's something a bit cool we thought was worth sharing with you all - Transformers artist extraordinaire Guido Guidi has posted up a "Neo-Seeker" design on his Deviant Art account. While not an official piece of work for a Transformers project - bolded that for emphasis to avoid confusion - it's just a warm-up piece Guido did while also experimenting with a more streamlined style, in the vein of the Transformers Animated / Transformers Prime look.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think Guido's nailed the look pretty convincingly with this piece! Could this be a taste of the future evolution of Guido's art work for Transformers? Would it be a style you'd like to see more of?

Chevrolet.com has added a photo gallery to their website promoting their latest "2012 Transformers Special Edition" Camaro, decorated to look much like one of those Transformers robots from the movies (care to guess which one?*). This gallery clearly shows that this new edition does take a few liberties in design (notably the rear spoiler) while still remaining faithful to its on-screen counterpart. There is also an optional upgrade package that consists of black ground effects and black 21" wheels that can be purchased separately. If you have ever wanted a chance to own a movie car, perhaps one of these Special Edition Camaro cars is for you, as there is still time enough to order one of these from you local Chevrolet dealer!

Five down and one to go. The fifth TFC Toys Hercules figure, Neckbreaker, has been released and 2005 Board member Patto Prime has stopped by to share his thoughts and some photos of the figure. This updated version of Generation 1 Bonecrusher is looking sharp with no major flaws to report as of yet. In the picture provided you can see group shots with the other Not-Constructicons as well as Hercules in combined mode (Minus his left leg). There is also a picture with the optional visor accessory.

Take a look at the images and click the title bar to discuss

Thanks to Collider.com, we now have two new promotional images for the upcoming second season of Transformers Prime! The first image features Optimus Prime split down the middle with the Decepticons to this left and the Autobots to his right. Half of Optimus is his regular self, while the half that is on the Decepticon side shows him wearing a Decepticon symbol on his left shoulder. The 2nd image is of Optimus in mid jump. Jumping out of the shadows maybe? Let us know what you think!

Excited for Season two of Transformers Prime? Sound off on the 2005 Boards and discuss these images

Holy Moly! Robot Kingdom's just dropped a huge bombshell as far as all new Transformers toys goes! Coming to you in 2012 are a great deal of new items including:

A New Transformers Prime Entertainment Pack featuring Transformers Starscream and Bumblebee plus human characters Silas and one of his MECH Troopers!

Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise Deluxe Assortment Wave 3 containing repacks of Bumblebee, Arcee and the Vehicon (each one per case), plus new additions Knock Out and Ratchet and a previously unknown character for Transformers Prime, HOT SHOT!

New Mold Transformers Prime Optimus Prime - a new version of Transformers Prime Optimus Prime in the Voyager class, with clear forearms, different gun and sword to the first edition. Probably not the same thing as the Powerizer we've been hearing about? Due out in February.

Prime Cyberverse Wave 2, adding Breakdown and Soundwave to the lineup. This assortment also seems to be incorporating some of the hangovers of the Movie series including the previously announced Evac from Transformers the Ride and Mirage!!!!!! (Don't celebrate just yet - he might be a Prime character instead)

Prime Cyberverse Vehicle Wave 1 which not only includes the Starhammer with Wheeljack that was previously revealed but also Energon Driller with Knockout!

Bot Shots Big Rig Assortment is revealed - Optimus Prime and Megatron with little pop-open vehicles / trailers!

Last but not least, more images of the Bot Shots Assortment - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Starscream are in their traditional Generation 1 styling, with a Movieverse Barricade and one other character all in red who we don't recognise. Looks like good fun pocket toys though!

Perfect Effect has once again updated their blog with new pictures of their next upcoming project. PEDX-01 is an updated "classic" Arcee figure with a sharp looking motorcycle alternate mode. We get a sense of scale with this figure as it is photographed with a G.I.Joe Snake-Eyes figure riding the alt mode. There is also a picture with Perfect Effect's Ninja figure. Clearly, they're riding to save the universe.

Check out the new color images by clicking the title bar!

Some interesting news for those of you following the Mastershooter Shooter Master Targetmasters. Preorders have gone up for the set of the first four at Captured Prey, along with two new - and Captured Prey exclusive - two packs. The two packs are inspired by the partners of the later 1988 Targetmasters such as Quake and Spinister, with one figure in each set being colored black and the other colored purple. With rumors of a Classics Spinister in the works for Botcon 2012, a set of these might be the perfect way to complement that figure, or your original if he's lost his Targetmasters.

Check out the preorder listings for more information and preliminary CGI renders at Captured Prey.

MTV has posted a Featurette in preparation for the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D Home Video Release on January 31st. The Featurette is names ATT-ATT; which stands for “All The Toys, All The Time”.

In MTV’s own words…

...It's called ATT-ATT, and it stands for "All the toys, all the time." That basically sums up how Bay likes to shoot his films. When approaching a particular scene, the director prefers to have all different types of film equipment ready to go if inspiration strikes at any particular moment...

...In the clip, we see Bay explaining exactly where he wants the mechanical carnage to take place and how he wants it all to look. That can mean changing where destroyed cars sit on the streets of Chicago or how a car looks after it backs up into a piece of construction equipment...

Check out the Clip, below*:

Read more at MTV Movies Blog.
