Amazon has updated their Transformers: Dark of the Moon Novelization page with the cover page. The cover features the Transformers 3 Promotional Poster we’ve been seeing for a long time. Although this poster appeared on various occasions; once at a convention inside a Hasbro booth and on another time featured on a folder belonging to the DOTM crew working closely with Michael Bay, it is never popularized as an official poster.

Few other updated items relating to Transformers are also there…

This is it Transformers fans!

With less than 24 hours left until voting ends on TFW2005.COM, we are in a virtual tie between the top two candidates - Erector and Grimlock!

It can be easily said that this year's Transformers Hall of Fame nomination and voting process has gone above and beyond last year's, with a virtual and sudden fan-movement to vote in a totally obscure and highly contraversial candidate! While last year saw a ton of users on our message forums include signature images supporting their candidate, this year saw a ton of discussion threads on nominees, a massive signature image campaign, and even a Facebook page or two supporting their candidate!

Not to be left out of discussion, Waspinator and Shockwave are also in a dead-heat for 3rd and 4th place, with Waspinator recently overtaking Shockwave. Nearly 800 votes have come in, but we still need to be able to declare a true winner to TFW2005's poll!

We need YOU to vote RIGHT NOW on who deserves to be inducted in to the 2nd Transformers Hall of Fame!

Who do you vote for? An obscure and unfortunately-named Micromaster? A lovable and fan-favorite self-proclaimed king and bad-ass? A bug with plans who just can't catch a break? Or quite possibly the biggest mastermind in all of Transformers lore?

NOTE: This vote is one of many currently under-way on numerous Transformers fansites. All fansite voting totals will be calculated and turned in to a final, official vote in the future on Transformers.com. Winner will be announced at this year's BotCon, taking place in Pasadena, California.

As you all vote on that all important Transformers Hall of Fame 2011 poll, I thought I'd draw your attention to this Generation 1 Skullcruncher gallery, recently submitted to us by 2005 Boards member HighPrime.

Skullcruncher is a Decepticon with a special place in my heart - back in the New Year's sales of 1988, I remember picking up this alligator Decepticon to give some backup to my Scorponok who I got for Christmas. For a long time it was him, Apeface, Snapdragon and Scorponok as my Headmasters - he is one of the toys from my childhood who got a lot of play. And even now looking back and reading his bio, there's nothing about him that is not cool. He's an alligator Decepticon whose gun has the sole purpose of making his enemies easier to chew! He's partnered with a businessman who plans on using the Decepticon to get rid of his business rivals! Grax's pilot seat in beast mode is sitting inside Skullcruncher's mouth (better hope he doesn't get hungry while you're in there guy)!

Looking at this gallery brought back a lot of happy childhood memories for me. Click here to check out the gallery and see if HighPrime's excellent photography does the same for you too.

And who knows, maybe it will be Skullcruncher for the Hall of Fame 2012?

2005 boards member Monzo has just come back from JoeCon 2011 where he attended the "Treasures Of Hasbro Archives" panel, hosted by Rik Alvarez and other Hasbro employees such as John Warden. Alvarez revealed quite a surprising abandoned concept, a repainted Omega Supreme for a crossover line between Transformers and GI Joe! Here's more details:

"According to Rik, these are parts of an Omega Supreme that were redecoed and intended for release in the G.I. Joe toyline. In what manner, as a character or parts of a non-living vehicle, he didn't say; the phrasing of his following statement, where he was going to look into "an actual crossover between the G.I. Joe and Transformer toylines", makes the Joemega Supreme situation seem a bit nebulous."

That wasn't the only shocker. It turns out that at one point, the GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra was actually going to have a female figure, paired with a Transformer too! This set was of Arctic Baroness With Ravage(or rather, Ravage but not Ravage):

"There were plans for an arctic Rise of Cobra Baroness figure that would have come with a robot panther companion -"maybe Ravage, maybe not" said Rik, but John Warden consistently denied that it was going to be Ravage. In any case, the use of Ravage design cues was intentional, though Rik sadly noted that the G1 weapons did not work with it."

With even more files to sift through in the archive, could we see more abandoned GI Joe VS Transformers concepts at Botcon 2011?

catz of our 2005 Boards has shared with us some more information on the upcoming toy listings which are circulating among retailers at the moment for the third assortment of Takara-Tomy Dark of the Moon toy releases. We already heard over the weekend of the Voyager Class Sentinel Prime, but these listings also add that a Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class Skywarp is in the works! Yes, it sounds like Dark of the Moon is giving us Movieverse versions of the complete Seeker trio in the Deluxe Class. (Picture shown at left is the Revenge of the Fallen Store Exclusive Skywarp. We don't know what the new Skywarp is going to look like right now, but presumably that will be his basic colors)

Also of interest on the new listings are the Japanese Human Alliance Basics. These releases do away with the "new" characters created for the US releases and throw Sam, Epps and Lennox into the mix partnered with Backfire, Sandstorm and Thunderhead respectively.

Read on to check out the full listings.

It was not too long ago that we found out about Mr. Simon Furman expressing his thoughts about continuing the Marvel Transformers Comic Book Series with the help of IDW.

At the IDW Forums, Transformers Comic Book Fans replied to Mr. Furman’s statement with full support.

Now, they have created an online petition for everyone to take part to receive permission from IDW for the continuation of the series starting with issue #81.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wildman; Transformers Comic Book Artist left a message on his blog regarding this latest development.

"…A while ago myself and Simon Furman considered the idea of picking up where we left off with the old Marvel Comics run of Transformers. For me it came about because after doing a series of six covers IDW asked me to do some interior art for their Transformers book…

…So where are we now? Well it is clear that IDW are not resistant to the idea but in these current times of relatively low comics sales they would need to feel confident that it would sell.
So what can be done about it? If you are interested, sign the petition that is going about. Get enough names on that and it would clearly be a viable project. Of course it remains to be seen who would draw it as there are other interested parties but I think it is safe to say that Simon would love to get his teeth into it…
"

HA Bumblebee looks the same as his Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen / Hunt For The Decepticons mold but with a different paint scheme and packaging.

As for the ‘Silver’ Bumblebee… er… we’ll let you judge for yourself…

We have rounded-up the images. You can take a look at them after the jump. Special thanks to the original posters and websites.

Hubworld will air new episodes on Saturdays at 4 p.m. ET starting April 9. Transformers Prime will have premiere episodes on Saturdays at 7 p.m. ET starting April 9 as well. G.I. Joe Renegades will return with premieres on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. ET starting April 16.”

This explains the recent odd TV listings.

The big thing in this last week has been the 2012 Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame. After inviting many nominations of favorite characters, we narrowed it down to a final eight - and the voting still has just a little while left to go. Who will win? Grimlock the Dinobot Commander? Waspinator?

Unfortunately it looks like my other favorite character next to the big dino is not going to make the cut, so I'm saying it now:

Rodimus for the Hall of Fame 2012. Who else can take credit for killing Optimus Prime the first time out?

In other news, it's movie fever! Lots and lots of new Movie toys are popping up daily, anyone would think the toy line will be launching next month. Wait, it does? Hooray! Even more cause for celebration - Leonard Nimoy will be voicing Sentinel Prime!

ACToys has posted some promotional material for 8 Transformers: Dark of the Moon Keychains (or referred to as Keytags in some countries).

The Blue string is for the Autobots while the Red string is for the Decepticons.

It’s hard to figureout who’s who due to the size of the image, but from the looks it’s Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Ironhide, Megatron, Starscream, Brawl and Blackout/Grindor.

The winner, with a whopping 434 votes, is the Dinobot Commander, me not runner up me king, Grimlock! Here's what he has to say about his victory:

"Me Grimlock, king! Me not lose to some funny named Micromaster!"

The four runners up were:

Shockwave
Waspinator
Jazz

And yes, Erector is in the final five too.

We will submit these results to Hasbro, which Hasbro will then use along with the nominations from other fansites to decide who will be in the final fan's vote on Transformers.com on April 13 next week!

Thank you to all who took part!

UK site Full Metal Hero reports on some news coming out of Wondercon about the upcoming issues of IDW's Transformers comic - namely, that the comic is going bi-weekly during the Chaos Story arc. From July 2011 until December 2011, or possibly longer as that's as far as these details run, there will be two issues of Transformers a month - generally speaking it's one issue a month of the Chaos story arc, and one of something titled "The Last Earth Story" which is running side by side with Chaos from September through November. It's all kicked off by Mike Costa's Prelude to Chaos in Ongoing issue 21, followed by James Robert's Chaos Theory two part story in 22 and 23.

And beyond all of this, a mysterious Transformers # 125, due for release in December 2011. What this is really is anyone's guess, although odds are, that is the total number of comics in IDW's main universe published as of that issue when measured from Escalation Issue #1 to date...

Read on for the full details of the upcoming issues.

Mastermind Creations have revealed some CGI renders of their upcoming KM03 Cyclops custom Transformer. KM03 Cyclops is based on the Hearts of Steel Shockwave, an ironclad steamboat - so if nothing else Mastermind Creations will deliver us an awesome alternate mode we've not seen rendered as a toy before. Given the improvement in design and quality on Knight Morpher Annihilator though there's little need to be concerned - the end product should be great.

We’ve seen the instruction sheet before, but this is the official reveal.

It’s nice to see actual images of the toy instead of the usual lineart (which you all sometimes may have had difficulty understanding “what goes where”).

You can download the Instruction Sheet here (12.22MBs).

A clearer picture of the upcoming Takara-Tomy Jetwing Optimus Prime has found its way to us by way of 4Chan's Toy board. The new image shows more clearly the new deco on this new version of Optimus Prime - it's a Nemesis / Black Convoy black and teal coloration. The main figure sports the new abs from the film so at the very least it is a remold of an existing leader Optimus Prime toy, if not a completely new mold toy. Also check out those awesome and huge gatling cannons!

Everything about this movie is all hush-hush. Even the involvement of Linkin Park for another song for the official soundtrack is kept a secret.

Rumors are flying never-the-less. First of all we heard that a song from the band’s latest album “A Thousand Suns” will get featured this time around for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. That song being “Burning In The Skies”.

Next, Chester Bennington; lead vocalist of Linkin Park may have hinted that there will be a song on Transformers 3.

Today, Paramount UK left a status update on their official DOTM Facebook page…

“Linkin Park fan, anyone?”

It may be another hint. We’ll keep you updated on any further development.

Our sister site Toyark.com has undergone a major site redesign. Everything from the logo, to the color scheme to the forum layout has been given a complete overhaul. Here's some things that have changed...

New Theme & Logo
Black and red is out. As we approached the redesign, we wanted to separate Toyark from our other sites with similar color themes. So in comes a more yellow, black, blue and gray look.

There's now links directly to Marvel, DC, Masters of the Universe and Star Wars news and discussions. The forum has been given a more traditional layout, with user info moved to the left hand side.

The logo and header are also completely new.

Forum Overhaul
We've changed up the forum a bit. Added some new areas and consolidated others.

News and Rumors
We've gone to a more traditional (meaning more like our various Network sites) News and Rumors format. now all news threads will be in a single forum for easy access to the latest info.

One Line Per Thread
With the site covering so many toys, we've added a new and easy to follow section of the site. This one is inspired directly by the fans right here on TFW2005. In this forum, each line without a dedicated forum will have single discussion thread for fans to gather, share pics, talk collecting, and more.

Featured Toy Lines and Properties
Some of the most popular lines like Marvel, DC and Star Wars now have three areas for fans to visit. Each of those areas will have a Toy discussion, a Fiction Discussion (cartoons, movies, comics) as well as a General Discussion area.

More Forum Changes
Sightings has consolidated into single state sightings (like here). The Creative forums now have thumbnail previews.

Much, Much More
Lots of upgrades have taken place behind the scenes. We've trimmed our ported over users out, so if you haven't logged in to Toyark in over a year, that account has been removed. The current member list reflects who our active members are. If you had an account that was trimmed, or just want to join in, Sign Up Today!

Lastly, we want to thank all of you. Thanks for reading and visiting not only Toyark, but all of our sites. Without the members and readers, this wouldn't be possible.

TVShows on DVD brings some great news about the upcoming Transformers Headmasters DVDs coming to us soon from Metrodome - namely, they tell us when these much-desired releases are coming and how much you'll have to part with to own a set! According to this Amazon listing, the set is due for a release on 5 July - just a little under three months away! Amazon has the RRP set at $29.96 but is as always offering a discount, they are asking just $20.99 for the set if you buy it through them.

$20.99 for this series is a fair bargain in my book - even the RRP cost of $29.96 still works out at less than $1 per episode, which is good value for money however you try to tackle it. Let's hope this set sells well so there's more Japanese series goodness in our future, so we can say go! and use the Masterforce to transform.

Pictured at left is the cover art of the Metrodome set released in the UK a few years back. Will the US cover art be as excellent as this? Stay tuned to find out!

Two more of the Dark of the Moon Mini-Con single packs have popped up on eBay. This time out the names are Rav and Triceradon, the other two members of the Classics Mini-Con Dinobots redecos. Like the Dualor who we saw before, these guys are in Generation 1 Dinobot inspired decos. They are single packed and by all indications are headed out as some kind of shared store exclusive between Big Bad Toy Store and someone else - unless plans have changed of course.

Here we have a leading-lady who is actually into the Transformers gig.

To quote MTV

While there's no official word just yet on the possibility of a fourth "Transformers" movie (with or without Michael Bay), newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is keeping her fingers crossed that the franchise could even get to that point.

The 23-year-old won some major points when she told MTV News at last week's CinemaCon that she read up on her "Transformers" history from the comic books and animated series, learning a major plot point about her character and Sam Witwicky, the central hero played by Shia LaBeouf.

"I found out through research that Carly was the character that Sam ends up marrying, and I was really, really thrilled to see that," she told us.

Many United States Transformers collectors have been searching effortlessly (and in vain) for the Reveal the Shield Scouts and Legends figures. Our friends overseas have had plenty of luck, and those who order from online collectable stores have been fortunate, but what's in the store for the rest of us?

We may have your answer, and it's not good.

According to various Hasbro Retail Merchandiser Reps, it would seem that Hasbro has chosen to cancel the Reveal the Shield Scout Assortment in the United States. Beyond the evidence that these figures cannot be found anywhere, word is coming in that some online retailers are cancelling existing pre-orders that they now cannot fill.

This means that the United States may not see a retail release of Windcharger, Chopsaw, Rumble, Bodylock, and Downshift.

As for the Reveal the Shield Legends Assortment? That is apparently still up in the air, but the major retail chains are not placing orders for these figures, as they are still sitting on Hunt for the Decepticons and there's apparently a giant, blockbuster movie and toy release on the horizon that they are ordering the H-E-double hockey stick out of...

The last bit of information we got out of our conversations is that Hasbro is currently looking at a different avenue to get these figures released. We're going to keep this as A RUMOR for the time being, but if you want to be assured any of those figures, your best bet is to start looking at imports or online retailers.

We'll keep you posted.

Surprise Surprise! Here we have our first look at the mobile game of Transformers: Dark of the Moon by Electronic Arts.

Unofficial sources reveals that the game consists of levels exploring Chernobyl and Moon.

Twitter was buzzing with these leaked images only few moments ago. And this description was also found. Bear in mind that this is unofficial and unconfirmed…

“While Megatron is hiding after the disgraceful defeat, Decepticons Shockwave, the ruler of Cybertron, is preparing to visit the planet with absolutely no good intentions. The game takes place not only on Earth, but the dynamics Moon, a dark side which holds no less dark secrets.”
