Can we get a side by side shot of Lion-o with Mumm-ra for scale purposes?

Looks damn good. I still haven't seen these guys in stores yet. I keep going back and forth on whether on not I should do the 6's. Sonofa!

Thundercats 6 Inch Mumm Ra 6 Inch Mumm Ra Gallery Did a quick gallery last night of Mumm Ra. Gog - or anyone - is your Mumm Ra's legs super loose? This guy is wobblin all over the place for me. Hard to get him to stand other than standard positions. |

So nice!!! I can't wait to get my hands on the 6 inch figures! I only have the Classics right now.
Do you know how Mumm-Ra looks next to the Classic Lion-O? I wonder if he might be a good placeholder until Bandai makes a classic Mumm-Ra. |

I ordered all 3 6" figures on Amazon over the weekend w/free shipping ($45 total). They just arrived a few minutes ago. These things look great. Can't wait for wave 2 to be revealed. My only beef is that being 6" figures, I think Lion-o should have been a flat 6" but he is a little less. Closer to 5.5" really. So Panthro is only right at 6" himself. So, wish they had been a little bigger to fit in with other 6" lines but its okay. They are Cats. I'll make it work.

Those pics are awesome and you're killing me! My 6" Lion-O is still in his plastic prison as I figured I'd keep him in package next to his classic version I just got today. If I keep seeing these awesome pics he'll surely find a way to escape though

Thundercats 2011 Wave 1 4 Inch Figures Gallery
Not all of them, BUT - we took these on location at SDCC. Not the cleanest shots, but gives you a good look at some of them. |

Those are impressive! Love the poses Mumm-ra looks like he'd rip a person's head right off. I only wish Lion-O had some sort of expression going on with his face:/

It's funny I know I've read on the forum that some people were on the fence about the 4inch line and just wanted to pick up the 6 inch line but I'm the opposite and I just may pick up some of the 6 inch offerings. Definitely will pick up Lion-O and Mumm-Ra.

Anybody snag the Panthro yet? I've seen it, but was on the fence about how he looked. I'm thinking the character's personality on the show might sell him to me, but I'd like to get a better look than just in the box first. If anyone does have him, what do you think of him so far?

My Lion-O came today! Took a bunch of pictures, too.
Him and Jason Todd Robin If you know Lion-O's voice actor you should get this Man-Bat is someone I felt Lion-O could fight (Excuse the messy background) I don't do much with this Superman but I thought this looked cool Bane broke the cat Lion-O met Batman. That's enough sad isn't it? I was able to get both Decade and Lion-O into the thundercats ho pose |

I have a question for those that have the 6" Panthro. Is he as blue/purple in-person as he is in pictures? or is he at all any closer to the gray he is in the show?

Going off of the style sheet for Mumm-Ra, they're actually a design feature to his back. Also, a theory out right now is that they were designed to fill int he holes put there for a later release at a larger price-point with the addition of wings.
While the wings would have been cool, they would have taken away from the overall figures size, and would have just made his scale next to the other 6" figures even worse. |

It isn't a question of fitting him plus wings in the packaging, but the amount of plastic those wings would be made out of. Much like Transformers size-classes, action figure price-points have a max amount of plastic allotted for them. Mumm-Ra would have to be shrunk down to allow for wings to be added, and to remain the same price-point at the same time.

When it comes to the main heroes of brands like this I always prefer neutral/determined expressions because sometimes when you go for a grimace or smirk it either comes out looking at odds with the character or just... ugly. I wish the handle of Mumm-ras sword was on the half with the eye jewel rather than the plain half. I don't like the double blade sword and would like him to just hold the eye half.

Thanks for the reply. That's...rather unfortunate. He's a nice dark gray in the show. Maybe the more blue-ish color will grow on me after seeing him in-person. Still, I can't pretend that a more accurate color would've been great...

How is wanting the toy of Panthro to have a similar color scheme to that of the Panthro in the show that the toy is based off of "nitpicky"?
To prove my point about his main fur color, here's a quick comparison I've made, using one of the HD screen-shots of the fifth episode, and GogDog's pictures (hope that's ok ). Those two most certainly do NOT match. |

Agreed on the grey. It doesn't bother me much, but it's more like the color he would be at night.....

Well as for the color of Panthro, in different lighting he's different shades. The first picture was him in broad daylight.
This one is him in shadow, which is much closer to his toy counterpart. The toys were made from the concept art and production images. the lighting in the show wouldn't have been taken into consideration. |

When I got Mumm-Ra the wings didn't bother me but I hope they do do a 6" with wings after seeing that they are truly part of the characters design and not something that just pops out when needed. I'm sticking to the 6" (and Classics of course!) but the 4-inchers are calling to me and I don't think I can hold out much longer! I'd also love an all armored up version (Mumm-Ra the All Powerful?), too!
Great pictures, all! These figure are great, I'm constantly pulling them off the shelf and reposing them. Do it at least once a week (typically around 9pm on Fridays!). |
