It'll be revealed that Panthera is immortal like Mummra, and she trained Cheetara herself in a plan to leave Leos descendant vulnerable so she could seduce him herself. Now that Cheetara has succeeded, Panthera will emerge, aid Lion-o in defeating the triumverate of evil and marry Lion-o herself.

It would make sense, Mummra is definately the type. Sense all the animals we've seen look like animals from earth, they could all have originated from a future earth, and colonized other worlds. Many of which Mummra probably destroyed.

The writers did mention that they would be exploring Mummras past. So we might see something about the original homeworld. Maybe Mummra is some kind of Frankenstein monster? He seems to have bat wings and a bull dog face when he transforms.
