I see there is a 2004 release of the original cartoon, but it seems to have gotten rather expensive on Amazon. Does anyone know with the new cartoon coming out if there will be a re-release of the original cartoon?

Hard to say for sure. I know that those DVD box sets are still available at retail. They vary in price, I would suggest avoiding amazon and try retailers such as best buy, target, etc...

I just got each of the 4 6 disc sets for under 20 bucks, used tho, on ebay. And one on Amazon.

Most are around 40 bucks there, but if you search through, you can find fans selling them cheap.

I was able to pick up season 2 parts 1 and 2 for less than 25 on eBay. Now I just need to work on Season 1. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I just wish someone would be able to find better masters of the discs. Authoring the discs from video tape (as opposed to film) really took its toll on the video quality in spots.

Around me in Canada the only place that seems to have them regularly is HMV and they still sell for $80 per box set.

keep trying best buy, got mine from there a couple years back during one of there sales for $10 a set! yes $10 a set, same as with the He-man cartoons and some of the other 80's cartoons (must have had some major warehouse cleaning at the time). Be patient and keep checking!

I see Season 1 part 1 at Walmart for about 20.00 if I remember correctly. That was just last month. For those in California I know that you can find some copies at Rasputin Records or Half Price Book as well.

I only picked the first set from Season 1. One of the dvds was messed up. I have been planning to pick up the rest. They have popped up at Wal Mart over the years though...

I am suprised to hear that the Thundercats DVDs have become expensive in the US. On Amazon.co.uk you can get the full set for about £25
