Ok my first attempt after being inspired by this site to make some custom figures.

I'm currently working on a 2 seater classic thundertank, a new series custom 2012 feliner for the new series(my version of what could have been) and a 6" mandora. The rest of the main cast will follow but not until the above list is done.

I'm still working on it but finishing it pretty quickly.

i need to do some paint touch ups and finish the straps and spikes and paint the eyes and other color variations.

if anyone has any recommendations for paint tell me, i'm quickly learning NOT to use testors enamel model paint. the bottle paint dries ok but the spray that makes the paint job look sooo much nicer and professional JUST WON'T DRY! still tacky days later and from what I read, will be for months to come.

For panthro, the figure I used was a WWE figure from target. His legs were way to long, so popped off the boots and used a dremel to shrink him down a notch. i left stumps for the boots to slide back on.

i then used apoxy to make the ears and smooth out the boot laces.

i'll keep posting as my progress continues. As I compare the real lion-o to my panthro maybe I should have used a heavier looking figure to be panthro, but i want to finish and see how it looks.

Ok first post was earlier today, i made some progress.

the belt and straps are on with apoxy and hardened and got around to painting them, they look a little purple in the photos but they are blue. i even made the red and blue nunchucks but i need to go to a hardware store and get a chain.

i even painted the lighter parts for ears/eyes/ chest and palms. and put on and painted his wrist and arm bands.

also in the eyes i have red with black slashes(cats eyes) hard to tell in my iphone pictures. and i did the eye brows.

tomorrow i will finish with the spikes and touch ups that have rubbed off on my fingers cuz some of the darn paint won't fully dry and i have no patience.

oh and i'll take a crack at painting the the t-cats symbol on his belt. that will be the final piece.

looking good man now the only problem i have with customs no offence to the makers but you need to figure a way to make them like retail so they can be posed and no paint chips off when being moved so i suggest sanding down the toys and then airbrushing them like a spray paint job then seal it and when doing the above take apart the toy paint each part then you should have a professional looking custom figure.

thank you for the tips, im going to a hobby shop to get paint that dries better. this testors tacky model paint is horror.

but i'll definately have to sand down the joints next time so paint doesnt rub off when they move.

ill keep posting progress thanks

Ok i'm done for now. im most impressed on my hand painted thundercats logo!

i'm still learning so i don't know how to do the fancy dark shadows or dark lines to give more definition.

but i did go ahead and add his pointy big toe on his feet

just a straight up simple color paint job but i love how the eyes/face and logo came out.
