Good news everybody! Michael Bay's monster blockbuster film Transformers Dark Of The Moon has been nominated for a 2012 Screen Actors Guild Award. The LA Times Envelope awards site is reporting that the film is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture. No doubt for the "Bird Men" scene among others in the movie.

Dark of The Moon has some stiff competition in the form of "Cowboys & Aliens", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, "The Adjustment Bureau" and "X-Men: First Class".

Be sure to tune in to the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday, January 29th on TNT and cheer on the Transformers!

TFW2005 is proud to announce the relaunch of the all new RIDForever.info, our network's little side project that's been sitting around for years. The mini-site dedicated to any and everything "Robots In Disguise" has been completely redone, upgraded, and added-to, heavily. We've been working on this in the background for a whlie now, and just squeaked in the relaunch during December 2011, which happens to be the 10th Anniversary of Robots In Disguise in the United States! So, to celebrate the 10th anniversary, even if only for another 16 days, enjoy the all new RID FOREVER.

Things of note:
  • Completely redone site, new skin, layout, system.
  • Tons of new entries added for toys, coming very close to (or hitting) absolute completeness.
  • 3rd Party Merchandise area created, documenting the US, Japan, and
  • Korean items.
  • All figures and 3rd party items we have access to have been reshot this year, using semi-professional gear and lighting.
  • Over 7000 New High Resolution Images of RID Toys, spanning 293 Entries for figures and merchandise.
  • Over 2500 High Quality Screen Captures, spanning all 39 Episodes. Sorted by Character.

Here are some pages of interest to get you started.

There is way too much to list here on what's new, so we invite you to check out the all new...

Roll Out Roll Call, the UK's Transformers & GI Joe joint celebration have announced their guest list for the 2012 convention! On the Transformers side, they have announced as guests of honor the team responsible for bringing back the original Generation 1 Transformers comics this July - Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman and colorist John-Paul Bove. On the GI Joe front, legendary GI Joe writer Larry Hama makes his first ever UK show appearance, along with the team who bring you IDW's new take on Cobra Commander, Robert Atkins and Simon Gough.

Roll Out Roll Call is held over the weekend of 10 and 11 March 2012, at the Jury's Inn in Southampton England. Tickets are limited, and are expected to go online very soon!

More news from the Takara-Tomy Twitter account! Today they have confirmed that Transformers Prime will be making its debut on Japanese television in April 2012. We've known this is coming for a while, since there's never yet been a Transformers series that has not found its way to Japan (though Beast Machines was a close call). Still, the confirmation is great news! Let's see if the exceptional talent that is JAM Project is brought in to provide an opening credits song on the lines of the one they did for Transformers Animated.

The airdate of the show is also being promoted in Japan with pack-in flyers included with the Japanese First Edition Transformers Prime toys and the Dark of the Moon DVD. This additional confirmation comes to you from Snakas.

Thanks to the Facebook page of Transformers Galaxy we have new in hand images of 3rd Party Group Maketoys' 2 pack figures, Hover and Bomber. In these photos we see the two figures in vehicle and robot mode as well some nice in package pictures. We also get a size comparison of the two figures next to a stick of gum. Which gives a nice sense of just how micro these microbots are!

Check out the images after the break and then join the 2005 Boards to join in the discussion.

Well, that didn't take long. On Monday we reported a blurred picture of TFC Toys Hercules in color and fully combined. Now, we have the same picture (among others) unblurred. These pictures also show off that Hercules will come with an optional visor accessorie and that Mad Blender's mixing drum will in fact be green. TFC Toys also teases that new pictures will be coming on Sunday.

Takara-Tomy have added a new page to their website. The new page promoting the Transformers Prime series for Japan includes some goodies such as a character video promoting Transformers Prime the show for Japan (mainly using footage from Darkness Rising). It's a character focus video all about Optimus Prime. According to 2005 Boards member Ricochet, these will be monthly, so watch that space for more character focused video clips. There's also some Transformers Prime Twitter icons (which are pretty cool, and I'm sure would also look great as your avatar on our 2005 Boards).

Lastly, there's another teaser image for the Transformers Prime "Robots in Disguise" toyline which is debuting in March 2012 on both sides of the Pacific, once again the silhouettes appear to be a slightly different Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Soundwave.

Initial work on Transformers Prime's third season is set to begin in 2012, according to a Twitter post by series storyboard writer Bryan Baugh:

Well, today is my last day at Hasbro Studios... for a few weeks, anyhow. We got a stretch of down-time before work begins on TFP Season 3...

This might not come as a huge surprise as Hasbro's intentions for Transformers Prime are that it becomes a new and ongoing universe. That being said, plans can change.

Please also bear in mind we've not heard that Season 3 has been officially greenlit yet - but the fact some work is being planned for early 2012 certainly suggests that announcement is not far away.

Thanks to 2005 Board member, Masabon, for dropping by to let us know that the latest Deluxe Dark Of The Moon wave has been released in Japan. On top of that, Masabon has picked up the two new molds in the wave, DA-31 Autobot Que and DA-13Soundwave, and provided us with a ton of cool new pictures of Que in both of his modes. He's also provided us with Autobot Que's bio which, except the name, is the same as Hasbro's Dark Of the Moon Wheeljack.

When he first learned about the laws of physics, AUTOBOT QUE took them as a challenge to his intelligence. Laws, after all, were made to be broken. The Autobot technician had dedicated his life to pushing the limits of science. More often than not, his inventions have failed spectacularly, but when they succeed, they often change the course of millions of robots' lives.

We've got a few new images of the robot mode for you to check out, courtesy of 2005 Boards member locidm. This is still very much a prototype piece, with some more details and joints to be added - but it is shaping up very well, and is said to be of a height with official Hasbro release Leader Transformers.

Stay tuned for more information and news, and perhaps a few more surprises as well!

We've got another addition to our Transformers Prime Toy Galleries for you now readers! We've got the first of two galleries of Transformers Prime's Voyager Class Wave 1, the Autobot one 'bot wrecking crew, Bulkhead!

True to his name, this new Bulkhead toy is big and bulky. He's got quite a squat stature, but he's broad shouldered and got some powerful arms. He's extremely good with power poses because of this. Design wise, Bulkhead is one of the most amazingly cleverly designed Transformers toys to come along this year - take a look at the robot mode next to Animated Bulkhead, then take a look at the vehicle mode comparison shot. That's real - no photoshopping, Prime Bulkhead really does compress down into a small vehicular mode. And as you might notice from the other pictures in our gallery, there's not an awful lot of vehicle mode parts sticking out, everything folds in and tucks away.

Seriously, this is an amazing toy. You really ought to consider picking him up if you like what you see in this gallery! Click the link below to see the full gallery and judge for yourself:

Takara-Tomy have unveiled their latest free present campaign, this time to promote Transformers Prime. From 28 December 2011 by spending 3,000 yen or more at participating stores on Transformers Prime merchandise, shoppers will receive a free limited edition Micron. The three Microns are:

Autobot Peaceman - named for Nebulon Targetmaster Peacemaker who came with Generation 1 Pointblank, he's an orange version of Power Core Combiners Chopster, who came with Smoulder.
Fracas - named for Scourge's Targetmaster partner, he's a blue version of Power Core Combiners Groundspike, who came with Heavytread.
Aimless - named for Misfire's Targetmaster partner, he's a light purple version of Power Core Combiners Throttler, who came with Sledge.

As always, these are set to be limited run items available purely on a first-come, first-served basis. As you might guess from the information above, these are carrying on the recent trend of issuing the Power Core Combiners Mini-cons in Japan as same-name homages to the Generation 1 Targetmaster partners.

The promotional onslaught has begun for the upcoming video game "Transformers: Fall of Cybertron", as major video game news sites (such as Destructoid) are starting to recieve press kits billed as a "Survival Kit". Inside the steel box is a can of a mysterious energy drink known only as "Soundwave Energon Energy Drink", an "Energon Bar" (that asks if you are Hungry Like Grimlock), and an art book titled "Inside The Apocalypse" which features art of many things including the various weaponry of the game, advertising for the vastly improved multiplayer character creation, and a Transformers Timeline which covers the events leading up to the upcoming game.

If that's not enough, then how about I think of the spring beyond the winter, and the promise of the second season of Transformers Prime - coming in February! Of course, that's not to say there's not been some cool stuff this past week - check it all out below.

And for our friends who follow G.I. Joe, check out the trailer to the sequel to the live action movie, G.I. Joe Retaliation!

A quick update regarding the Stepper exclusive from Million Publishing's Generation 2011 campaign, as the company has announced through their website that the upcoming exclusive will be shipping starting December 26th.

The toy is a redeco of the Reveal The Shield Jazz mold, based on the Generation 1 character who is also sometimes known as Ricochet. The toy also comes with a repaint of the Targetmaster from Universe Cyclonus, redecoed as "Nebulon".

This set is a North American release of the Transformers Chronicles Movie Optimus Prime, with slight deco changes (namely paint applications along the arms and the waist) to the Deluxe itself. As announced and confirmed at New York Comic Con, this toy will be released sometime in 2012 in the upcoming Movie Trilogy subline.

Time for an update on the increasingly popular TFC Toys Hercules Figure. TFC Toys updated their Facebook page with new images of all six Hercules figures fully combined and posed ready for battle. Additionally, a closer look at the recently revealed visor accessory has appeared thanks to the weibo page of mansonslaw. This accessory provides you with an optional look for Hercules' head. TFC Toys hasn't revealed which upcoming Hercules figure the visor will come with.

Check out the images after the break and then head over to our Hercules Mega Thread to discuss

We've received a news tip of an item that might interest all of you who're collecting the unofficial Masterpiece Seekers by iGear - iGear have partnered with Dublin, CA comic store Comic Ink to release a special, limited edition recolor of iGear's Jet unofficial Masterpiece Ramjet - modelled after Generation 2 Ramjet. That toy's been getting a lot of welcome appreciation this year with the TFCC exclusive version as well! The reveal came in Comic Ink's weekly email update, which also revealed that the piece will come with special parts by Automaster and Shapeways to better resemble the Generation 2 Ramjet missile launchers. It'll be available in store as well as online.

Full pictures are said to be on the way, on or around about the 10th of January next year.

Some more images of the final two Hercules team members have been posted on Facebook by Robot Kingdom. These new images show off Neckbreaker and Mad Blender in all their glory, and confirm that Neckbreaker does in fact have a black shovel. There's also a shot of Mad Blender in robot mode equipped with all eight of the weapon emplacemenets formed by his mixing barrel's transformation. Oddly, these images show Mad Blender with a purple mixing barrel.

That being said, an additional image has been posted by TFC的C on Weibo. This image shows all six of the Hercules team in a lightbox, with the caption "Mission Complete". This new image shows a finalised version of Mad Blender, and here, he's got the green barrel. Odds are, the final barrel will be a toy accurate green.

Transformers Generation 1 Bumblebee voice actor (as well as the voice of the Amazing Spider-Man of my childhood) Dan Gilvezan has released a great little autobiography about his time working on the original Transformers cartoon. You might remember us covering it a little while back. It's full of stories, reminiscences, anecdotes and some of the secrets behind the crafting of the voice of the character we so strongly associate with the original Bumblebee.

The good news is for those of you who want to check out the book "on the go", it's now available in audiobook format. It's a full unabridged copy, is read by Dan himself, and costs just $3.47. Head on over to audible.com to check it out.

Online retailer Robot Kingdom has posted some in-hand images of the upcoming Transformers Prime Deluxe Vehicon Trooper on their Facebook page. The Vehicon is a toy that's destined to be an army builder to many - after all, they were included on the show to give the Decepticons a numbers advantage without having loads and loads of named characters! The toy is looking pretty fab in both modes, but don't take my word for it - check out the images for yourself!

TFW fun fact: The Transformers Prime Vehicon toy is the last toy to be designed by the greatly respected Hasbro design team member Eric Siebenaler. It's a far cry from his first Transformers work, Armada Laserbeak. Those are the bookends if you want to own the first and the last.

We've got a new Transformers toy gallery to share with you now! This time out, we're taking a look at one of the items that's been released in Japan but has never been released elsewhere in the world. The subject of tonight's gallery update is Dark of the Moon Striker Optimus Prime, a remold of the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime with new MechTech weapons that combine into a larger MechTech rifle and a shield. The toy also features the Dark of the Moon accurate abs from the Jetwing Optimus Prime release.

Of course, as far as Leader Class Optimus Prime toys go, the bar was set very high in Revenge of the Fallen with another Japan exclusive piece, Buster Optimus Prime. When discussing this gallery with 2005 Photo Staff member SydneyY - give him mad props for the excellent pics everyone! - he explained it to me thus:

After looking at Striker Optimus Prime, Buster Optimus looks very gaudy. I personally prefer the subdued grey and blue of Striker. (comparison shots at the end of the gallery) Overall he looks very realistic - he may not have the screen accurate shine like Buster, but to me, he has more character.

Click on the link below and check out the gallery to judge for yourself! For a comparison, click here to view our Revenge of the Fallen Buster Optimus Prime gallery.

"Time is running out to save the planet. If you're a fan of the 2012 Camaro Transformers Special Edition and planned to have one of your own, you must place your order by December 27th. What is your favorite feature on the Transformers Edition?"

So says Chevrolet announcing to fans that there is only few more days left to order the 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformers Special Edition.

"In conjunction with the release of the film, Chevrolet announces the 2012 Camaro Transformers Special Edition, which will be available in North America and several other markets around the world, including China, Japan, and parts of Europe, South America and the Middle East.

Offered on the top two trim levels — 2LT and 2SS — with the RS Appearance Package, the 2012 Transformers edition only improves upon the already immensely popular 2010 Transformers Special Edition. The 2012 Transformers look starts with a stripe design consistent with the actual Transformers: Dark of the Moon Bumblebee model: Rally Yellow exterior paint with exclusive carbon-fiber weave rally stripes that travel on each side of the hood bulge, upper horizontal front fascia surface, roof, decklid and spoiler. The Autobot® shield is incorporated throughout the design, including on the center caps of the 20″ black-painted wheels2 and embroidered into the headrests."

You can take a look at all the features by downloading a pdf by Chevrolet.

And finally, Chevy had this to say… “If the Transformers edition Camaro looks this good in HD, think about how tough it would look in your driveway.
