I would like to thank Cartoon Network storyboard artist Chris Copeland for this here design!! Brian Jones, manager; Action-Adventure at Cartoon Network, challenged Chris with this project and wanted to see Chris's interpretation of Battlecat/Cringer from the He-man and the Masters of the Universe (MOTU). The purpose of the this challenge was for a possible cameo of the the character to appear in the New Thundercats series. To see more of Chris's work check out his Deviant Art page. (chriscopeland on deviantART)

The picture above is Chris Copeland's envisioning of the character. In my opinion, it turned out GREAT!!!! I would love to see Battlecat in this Thundercats universe along side the Thundercats,Silverhawks and TigerSharks, Battlecat/ Cringer would be among old friends. Yes, there is red tape that needs to be worked around and agreements that need to come to terms in order for this cross-over/cameo to occur, but it has at least been looked into and we may just find out in the future that everything is in agreement and Battlecat/ Cringer will be on Thundercats. But to know if this will ever come to light everyone needs to continue supporting the show.

Please EVERYONE support Thundercats via the petition, the Facebook page, and the Tumblr. (Links can be found below for all of these)

It would be an awesome homage to have such a cameo, got my fingers crossed! Glad to see we're so close to 8000 signatures on the petition too!

Why would there be a Cringer cameo in an unrelated cartoon series that is not owned by the same company??

Why would alien fight predator or RoboCop fight Terminator??? To pay homage to a classic, which this series does quite often and also someone came up with an idea, an idea that they believe fans would like (ie which would make them money). You then start preparations on the idea for if and when you are able to set forth the idea. That way when and if you are able to come to terms with the other company, you are ready to go with the idea and not just starting it.

You won't see it

Thundercats was born as a result of He-Man. Mattel won't give the rights for it to show on WB or Bandai.

I'm definitely no MotU fan, but that's actually pretty cool. I imagine if they were to change it enough, and then come up with a cool new name for it, that there would be no legal issues in the character making an appearance.

Who taught He-Man and Cringer the Fusion Dance?

...even better... how the heck do you get a giant green tiger to stand on his hind legs and dance in the first place!?
