Hot on the heels of the previously revealed Campaign Micron Spoilsport, a second Campaign Micron to celebrate the upcoming Dark of the Moon toyline has been announced. This time it is a Micron named Caliburst, who is actually not the Power Core Combiners Caliburst but Backwind instead. Like the other Targetmaster Microns, he is cast in solid gray plastic, with some black elements. He will be exclusively available at Toys R Us stores in March with the purchase of 3,000 yen or more of Autobot Alliance products, or Masterpiece Movie Bumblebee, or Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy.

MTV has posted an exclusive interview with IDW’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon Prequel Comics Editor Andy Schmidt.

MTV: Do the comics take place right before the film starts, years before it starts, or something else entirely?

SCHMIDT: There are two prequel series: "Foundation" takes place long before the events of even the first film. The second prequel is "Rising Storm," and that one leads directly into the opening of the new film. It takes place in between the second and third films, sort of bridging the two.

You can read the rest of the interview at MTV website.

MTV has also posted a 7-Page Preview of Transformers: Rising Storm for us to enjoy till we grab the comic book releasing today.

Additionally TFW2005 Member blue death, who picked up both copies has shared the info with us (including the uncensored cover of Rising Storm Issue #1). Careful... Spoilers!

Cybergundam Blog has updated with scans from the latest edition of Hobby Japan, revealing that there are some new Transformers model kits in the works. The "Dual Model Kit" series will soon receive a pair of new entries based on Movie Optimus Prime and Movie Bumblebee. Each kit consists of a very poseable inner frame skeleton, which comes pre-assembled, with armor on runners that attaches over the skeleton. Takara-Tomy has made other kits in this style in the past, so this should be quite interesting to see how the final product looks. Stay tuned as always for more updates!

Perhaps this is a bit premature, considering Transformers Dark of the Moon is still a few months away, but we've got the first hints that Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner would like the Transformers Movie franchise to continue beyond Transformers Dark of the Moon - and he very much hopes that director Michael Bay might return for a fourth outing, even though Michael Bay has stated on many occasions that he intends to make Dark of the Moon his final Transformers movie. Here is what Brian Goldner had to say on the matter:

I would say to you right now that I've so enjoyed working with Michael Bay. (He) has got this incredible visual sense for showing you things you've never seen before. Perhaps he'll change his mind, perhaps he won't, but I'd rather put out this movie first then cross that bridge at some point.

This news comes to you via Movieweb. Click on the link to read the full article including Brian Goldner's hopes and aspirations for Dark of the Moon.

Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have put up a listing for a cool new reproduction item - reprinted Generation 1 1984 Tech Spec Cards! This reproduction set is so much more than simply a photocopy of the original tech specs, though - they are completely remastered, digitally recreated from the ground up and feature super clean high resolution artwork as well as having some elements, like the coding that obscures the power levels, done consistently across the whole set. Most interesting of all is that certain artworks have been adjusted to better match the actual toys - so Bluestreak's artwork is silver like the toy instead of blue. These are due to arrive in March 2011, with a preorder price of $34.99. Head on over to Big Bad Toy Store to view the preorder listing!

Whether this is true… We’ll know for certain on 25th of March.

Speaking of rumors, remember Linkin Park’s Burning in the Skies rumor? It is said that the song will appear on Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, posted the Burning In The Skies Official “International” Music Video on his website. No clips related to Transformers 3… However, we do get to see a city being attacked by something and the people in the vicinity, injured by the explosion. Is this a hint? Who knows? We'll have to wait till the US Version (as mentioned on his site) is released.

In a brief interview with MTV Movies Blog, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner shares his thoughts on how Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is fitting into the void left by Megan Fox's departure from the Transformers live action movie franchise. In addition to this, he comments on how Rosie's character acts as a "catalyst to the action" of the new movie, and teases a bit by mentioning some amazing characters from Transformers lore would be showing up, such as Sentinel Prime - so are we also going to see some other big names beyond him and Shockwave? Only time will tell - but we've yet to find out the identities of some of the characters we know are in the film like the Ferrari Italia, so who knows?

More info has surfaced regarding the rumor of a Linkin Park song for Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

We first heard the rumor thanks to TFLAMB. The info was quickly followed by a video posted at You Tube where Mike Shinoda saying that they haven’t developed a song exclusively for Transformers 3. But, that doesn’t mean they can use an already completed song for DOTM (Linkin Park’s “What I’ve Done” from their third album, Minutes to Midnight was used for Michael Bay’s Transformers 2007 in a similar fashion). It was just an hour ago we learned of their Burning In The Skies "International" Music Video.

Now, we have with us a recent interview with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park thanks to lptimes.com.

LPTimes: Are you working on the soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the Moon?

Chester Bennington: I don’t know if I’m at liberty to tell you yet [winks]. But it looks promising. I think we go hand in hand with those films. A lot of our younger fans call us the Transformers band.

Internet Automag Eurotuner has posted an exclusive article regarding a certain character from the upcoming Michael Bay movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The character in question is none other than “Q”. Rumored to be an inventor and a friend of Wheelie, the Vehicle Mode of “Q” is a modified Mercedes-Benz E550.

Eurotuner explains that Michael Bay, contacted Claus Ettensberger at CEC to help design the newest Autobot for the upcoming action thriller.

The conversion included new custom blue paint, which was specifically chosen by Michael Bay to make the character stand out. The CEC enhancements incorporated a custom aerodynamic kit with a front spoiler, side skirts, rear apron, trunk spoiler, fenders, suspension and exhaust system. The stock wheels were replaced with CEC C725 forged wheels (20x8.5” front, 20x10” rear) and Michelin PS2 tires (245/30R20 front, 285/30R20).

The article also contains an upclose look at the vehicle mode.

Next up is the resin version of Motormaster's head sculpt. as you may have heard, the reveal last Thursday was defaced out of the factory with a big X that had to be photoshopped out. 2005 Boards member Masabon has shared with us some information on the Japanese release of Transformers Dark of the Moon. To the left of this text you can see the Japanese version of the film's logo. If you can read Japanese, you might also notice that the title of the film is a little different. Much like how Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was simply Transformers Revenge in Japan, Dark of the Moon has also undergone a very subtle change for it's Japanese release - in Japan, the film will be titled Transformers Darkside Moon, or possibly, Darkside of the Moon. Japanese fans will have to wait an extra month to see the movie though - its Japanese release date is July 29 2011.

Scans of the Transformers pages of the latest Figure King are up, with thanks to Toy-World.com.hk. This edition has three pages dedicated to Japanese Transformers releases, and covers Wave 4 of Transformers United (featuring Rumble & Frenzy, Wheeljack, Decepticon Scourge and Laser Optimus Prime). These new scans show Wheeljack has robot mode storage for his wrenches!
There is also a page showing off the first two Japanese Dark of the Moon (called Darkside of the Moon in Japan - thanks Masabon!) releases Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. This is the same image that's been circulating for a while, but is now high enough resolution to see the new weapon on Optimus Prime properly, and also see how the Darkside of the Moon Optimus is the Dark of the Moon Optimus, just repainted slightly.
The third page shows the next couple of Masterpiece series releases - the Rodimus Prime sound base, and Convoy Last Edition, who also comes with a sound base that will reveal the next Masterpiece, and some other new accessories - though I'm not sure if they are blacked out in the scans, or if that black thing is the new accessory and it's a cape or something. Last of all, are some new cards for the Japanese Transformers Animated arcade game. These cards have robot and alternate modes of certain major characters from throughout the franchise, and they come as pairs - so when you put your two Rodimus Prime cards together, you get a double card width image of robot and vehicle mode Rodimus in all his glory.

Whew, lot of good stuff there. Read on and check out the scans.

Kapow Toys Blog, by way of Dave at allthecoolstuff, has shared with us an image of our very first Dark of the Moon store exclusive toy! This Starscream is a redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Voyager, in a style not completely dissimilar to the Target exclusive Deep Space Starscream. This new Starscream is also a Target exclusive, and comes with a free comic book. Check it out by clicking on the link above.

Sad news, friends. According to Snakas, the latest issue of Kero Kero Ace in Japan reports that Transformers United as a series will end in March, with Wave 4 and the E-Hobby Exclusive three-packs. UN-22, Laser Optimus Prime, will be the final release in the line.

There is currently no word on what Takara-Tomy will be releasing in April, but May will see the Japanese launch of the Transformers Dark of the Moon line, which by all indications will feature some alternate decos and different accessories than its US version.

ACToys have shared some images of Generations Thundercracker in package. These images show off the awesome packaging art of the Decepticon who questions his alleigance, as well as showing the cardback with the bio! Our resources page for Generations Thundercracker has been updated to include the new bio, so you don't have to squint at the image - unfortunately Thundercracker's doubts in his cause have not carried over on to the new bio. Regardless, read on to check it out and see the images!

MSN TV have updated their Transformers Prime episode schedule with information on the 11th episode of the series. Episode 11 will be titled Speed Metal.

The bad news though is that the episode is not slated to air until 4/8/11 - so Transformers Prime will be taking a three week break following 11 March's episode, Deus Ex Machina.

Inside the magazine (who once praised this very site for uncovering the Title of Transformers 3) are some scenes from the movie and Spoilers.

Take a look at the images and spoilers (Thanks to knook), After the jump.

Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit theaters on 1st of July, 2011.

An update from Botcon for you all now. For those of you who missed out on the first two official convention hotel blocks, a third block has now been added. The third hotel is the Pasadena Courtyard hotel, just six blocks walk away from the convention center. The block has been enlarged by the Botcon staff to ensure everyone can get a room - but with Botcon getting more popular every year, why take the chance? Head on over to the official Botcon homepage for more information.

Also, remember how in years past there was much gnashing of teeth and angst about getting the coveted first 100 pin? Well, that is now a thing of the past! This year, rather than the first 100 registrants getting a pin, it is going to be a "first day" registration pin. So if you register within the first 24 hours after registration goes live, you'll get the Botcon 2011 commemorative pin.

There was also a brief update on registration - it's not yet live as some last minute venue issues are being resolved. Something special in the works, in the process of being finalized? We'll know soon enough - and we will let you know right here on the TFW2005 frontpage once registration is available.

February is the shortest month of the year, and while it is light on days, it has been heavy on Transformers news. Two new trailers for Transformers Dark of the Moon, Toy Fair 2011, and our first look at a whole bunch of Transformers Prime toys. Not to mention that Transformers Prime returned to our television screens with episodes like Masters and Students and Scrapheap (click on those links for the WTF@TFW podcast team's thoughts on those episodes)

But as February draws to a close, let's look back at what was new in the last seven days, as the month of awesome Transformers news draws to its close:

Nelson; the administrator of the Official Michael Bay Website has updated the site to let fans in on some information.

First of all, Mr. Michael Bay has been filming some Pick-up scenes for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, very recently. In the film industry “Pick-up Scenes” are small, relatively minor shots filmed or recorded after the fact to augment footage already shot.

To clarify matters more, Nelson says that it had nothing to do with the recent Space Shuttle Discovery Launch.

Also, we have a sad news to share as well. According to S4TE, Transformers 3 Production Office has been burgled.

Nelson says…“Burglars broke into the production offices of the movie. Federal authorities have been called in due to the sensitive nature of the burglary.

Finally, this is an update to our recent News Article “Empire Magazine Features Sentinel Prime And Optimus Prime From Transformers: Dark Of The Moon”. TFW2005 Member TheSpacebridge has sent us a couple of High Resolution Scans from the images inside. Thank You, Sir!

Shout! Factory have sent out an email, confirming that yes indeedy, they are going to be releasing two new Transformers DVD box sets - Beast Wars, and The Takara Collection: Headmasters. Yes, the Japanese only continuation of Generation 1 Transformers is finally coming to DVD in the US! HEAD ON!!!

Transforming The Beast & Headmasters
OK, Transformers fans. This is what you’ve been waiting for. We have officially secured the rights to bring you additional Transformers DVDs. Later this year, we’ll release two 4-disc sets: Transformers Beast Wars and Transformers Takara Collection: Headmasters. and complete series collections. This is the first time the Headmasters series is available in the U.S., and it all came together because you asked for it . . . at Comic-Con, Bot-Con and through our site. We’ll have more details as we get closer to releasing them, but we wanted to end rumor and speculation with an official confirmation here.

Picture shown at left is the cover to the Metrodome Headmasters DVD set, which was released in the UK and featured both the hilariously bad English dub, and Japanese series with subtitles.

Hamatoys have shared some images of the next two Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Action Set Assortment in package. The third and fourth releases in the Action Sets are where this assortment seems to start hitting it's stride - we get Optimus Prime and Megatron themselves, but rather than the figure and vehicle pattern of the Bumblebee and Starscream in the first assortment, we get the figure plus a trailer! Optimus Prime comes with his iconic trailer, which turns into a battle base, or attaches to the figure as battle armor of a different design to his Ultimate Optimus Prime release. Megatron is very cool, he features his full Mack truck mode in vehicle mode, splitting into robot and battle base for robot mode. The battle base can then combine with Megatron to give him his own winged super mode - I'm pretty sure this is a toy only addition, though.

Check out images of both Optimus and Megatron, kindly mirrored on our 2005 Boards for us by news submitting superstar S250!
