I am an advid ebay buyer and constantly check ebay for lots of different stuff (not just Thundercats).
Anyways, I was watching this auction for an original Sword of Omens. THUNDER CATS SWORD OF OMENS ORIGINAL | eBay I know they are semi-rare and can go for a good amount of money. But this one seems to be in less then good condition and still sold for about $40 shipped. Its missing the battery cover, the hilt is broke and the blade it also broke. and it looks like its covered in years of dirt/grime or discoloration. Would you pay $40 for that? Just curious to see what collectors here would value that at? I just paid $42 shipped for a near mint Sword of Omens with a buy it now. only missing the battery cap. and I think that was a good deal. |

I'd pay $40 bucks for it, but only if it had the battery cap. From what I've heard, it's not easy to find on it's own. Though honestly, I'll probably just wait and get the costume sword coming out later this year, which I've heard is essentially the same thing, just with the electronics taken out of it.

Since that's the '80's version of the Sword of Omens, I'm surprised it didn't go any higher. But $40 is a fair price.

Didn't notice the blade and hilt were broken (which now that I know, I wouldn't buy it at all), grime can be taken care of, I mentioned the lack of a battery cover in my post (which is a deal-breaker for me), and paint can always be touched-up/redone.

Wouldn't pay that for it.
It's broken and it has no battery cover. $20 at the most. |
