Auto Assembly, the UK's largest Transformers convention and BigPete appreciation weekend have released a new update about the 2011 and 2012 conventions.

Starting with 2011, there's two more guests confirmed - Transformers comic legends Andrew Wildman and Nick Roche, a pair who need no introductions. Their return is sure to prove popular as always especially with Nick Roche's issues of the IDW Transformers ongoing hitting stores in the weeks leading up to Auto Assembly - so plenty of good stuff to take along to get signed! They will be joining the confirmed guests including Simon Furman, David Kaye and Gregg Berger!

For 2012 there is some more news. In addition to the news we previously reported regarding the confirmation of the location, Auto Assembly 2012 has already secured five guests - keeping tight-lipped for the time being on who they are - but also of interest is the announcement of an Auto Assembly 2012 exclusive lithograph! The litho will be available to all staying in the official 2012 hotel - the Hilton - in a similar style to the OTFCC Sunstreaker exclusive from years back. No details on what it is yet of course - it's still over a year away - but it promises to be a great momento of a crazy fun weekend.

Check out the full news update video below:

Cybertron.ca reports that Transformers Dark of the Moon movie toys are being spotted early at retail locations in Canada. It would appear that Sears is jumping the gun and putting figures out earlier than the intended shelf date of May 16th. These sightings are happening in Ottawa where the first wave of legends class were found, and Quebec where the first wave of DOTM deluxe figures, voyager class and cyberverse were on shelves. For more details check out the report on Cybertron.ca.

2005 Boards Content and Photo Staff member SydneyY has provided us with some more information on the Dark of the Moon Prize Campaign from Takara-Tomy that will be running in Japan over the summer to celebrate the launch of the new movie:

The chromed weapons are likely to be handed out at various retailers at first come, first served base to the customers who spend certain amount of money on DOTM toys. More details to be announced later. Campaign is to start on 14 May.

Chromed Bumblebee is a lucky draw, but you enter online. The duration of this campaign is 14 May to 31 July and you need to enter 2 serial numbers (numbers that are printed on Mech tech character cards packed with the toys, for example) to enter the draw.
The prize is as listed;
A) Golden "Tritanium Bumblebee" - 10
B) DVD/Blu-Ray double pack (you can't choose the format) - 10
C) Golden Mech-tech weapon "Tritanium Energy Blade" - 100
D) Downloadable PC desktop wallpaper, different one monthly - to all

There will be two more of the same type campaigns from August onward, and when you enter all 3 campaigns, you are in the draw for the golden "Tritanium Optimus Prime" - 100 to be won.

I don't think you can enter the draws unless you have a Japanese address though.

iGear by way of TFSource have revealed they are in fact making a fourth unofficial custom Masterpiece Transformer based on the Starscream design. This one - for better or for worse - will be a direct copy of Starscream, and will be a Masterpiece version of Decepticon Sunstorm. The iGear Storm will run to around $100 and is set for a release in August / September 2011 at this time.

Our sponsor's Big Bad Toy Store's preorder listings for Dark of the Moon have revealed a pair of new Transformers! Both are in the Human Alliance series. In the larger main Human Alliance Series we have Roadbuster! Roadbuster is going to be a part of Human Alliance Series 2 with Bumblebee. His human partner is "Sergeant Recon". Whether this is the basic series trend of creating human partners for the robots spreading to the main series, or a method to obscure the true identity of a movie human character is unclear right now. Human Alliance Roadbuster looks to continue the style of the Human Alliance series offering the car based Transformers at larger scale with increased detail though, so he is sure to be a welcome addition to the series.

The other new toy revealed is a part of Human Alliance Basic Series 2. Joining the helicopter who we can now confirm as Whirl not Windmill is Tailpipe. Tailpipe is a motorcycle who comes with both a human partner and a Mini-Con style robot companion. He is partnered with a human named Sergeant Noble.

Both listings are accompanied by official images. Click on the links, or the title of this story, to see them.

Like Transformers War for Cybertron before it, Transformers Dark of the Moon The Game is offering preorder incentives in the form of additional multiplayer character skins through different stores. First up, Gamestop. Preordering Dark of the Moon The Game for Playstation 3 or XBox 360 through Gamestop nets you a Sideswipe character for multiplayer mode.

Time will tell if any other stores offer other characters as preorder bonuses - or if, like the War for Cybertron characters, these characters are all eventually offered as paid downloadable content.

Robotkingdom has posted the latest details for MP 10 Masterpiece Convoy Version 2:

MP-10 comes with a human figure that can fit into the driver sit. It is a new mold, smaller figure/trailer than MP-04, but more Japan animate look!

Could this new Masterpiece figure be in-scale with Human Alliance figures? Who could the driver be? Spike? Ginrai? Peter Cullen? Is there possibly a currently unrevealed gimmick for MP Convoy V2?

With a new Transformers movie comes a new soundtrack score, and Dark of the Moon is no different. Coming 7 June 2011 is the Transformers Dark of the Moon Album, featuring songs from and inspired by Transformers Dark of the Moon. Also coming on 7 June 2011 is the Transformers Dark of the Moon Score, featuring the background music from Steve Jablonsky's score for many of the film's key scenes. Amazon is selling both at $16.69. No word on what the tracklists are yet, though, but this is confirmation that yes, the soundtrack CDs to accompany the film are in the works.

I’m sure almost all of you supported (and continue supporting) for the Petition to continue the Original Transformers Comic Book Series with Transformers Issue #81.

Newsarama published an article thanking the fans who are hard at work trying to bring back the series.

β€œThe closest thing to a public acknowledgement on the petition thus far from IDW was publisher and editor-in-chief Chris Ryall tweeting last week, β€œIf you can get the petition to 10,000 signatures/pre-orders, I'll give you an exclusive cover for issue 81 ...” in response to a Twitter account associated with the fan movement. Sale figure-indexing site The Comics Chronicles reports that in January 2011, IDW’s Transformers #15 sold an estimated 10,159 copies.”

β€œI think there’s lots of great stuff in G2, and I certainly don’t want to disregard it completely (I think there’s material there that could easily fold into whatever we might do with a G1 continuation), but given a straight choice, I’d opt for G1 #81 over G2 #13, just because that original run had a defining, epochal quality to it that just inspires me to see if it can be pushed to another level,” [Simon] Furman wrote.

Comic Book Resources got a chance to interview IDW Lead Editor Andy Schmidt and get an exclusive look at the upcoming IDW series Transformers: Chaos (actually it’s more of a continuation + tie-in kind of a story).

"Chaos" will represent the convergence of the ongoing series with the more galactic events of "Infestation" and "Heart of Darkness" -- both written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning -- but readers who have only been following the core book will not have to play catch-up. "The ongoing series has been taking place for the most part on Earth, while Dan and Andy's two series are really going on in outer space. With 'Transformers' #20 and 'Heart of Darkness' #4, we've got one scene that overlaps both books, as they come out in the same month. So readers who have followed one series but not the other are perfectly fine going into the 'Chaos' event. And all is made clear. From that point, everything 'Transformers' is in the bi-weekly ongoing series from July all the way through December -- I told you big stuff is happening!"

We've received reports that the Dark of the Moon Leader Class has leaked out ahead of the May 15 street date. 2005 Boards member unmc2001 picked up Sentinel Prime at a Target store in Sun Prairie WI near Madison Wisconsin. We've also had reports of a confirmed purchase of both Sentinel Prime and Leader Class Bumblebee in Illinois.

As these are ahead of their street date they might be sitting in many store's back rooms waiting for release - and if you see them there's no guarantee you'll be able to buy them! But if you do share the happy news in our Transformers Sightings forum.

Friend and sponsor of TFW2005 Red leader of Kapow Toys has shared with us listings for the upcoming cases of Dark of the Moon Walmart and Target store exclusives. These listings bring us one extremely pleasing new toy in the shape of a Hunt for the Decepticons Terradive remold named Space Case! The mysterious semi-clear Bumblebee and Arcee with Cybertronian symbols are also a part of this Target Exclusive assortment along with a similar styled redeco of Jazz. Other revelations include the companion to the Target Exclusive Voyager Starscream - a Voyager Ratchet, described as a Revenge of the Fallen recolor (so that's where the 2007 Movie Voyager recolor got to...)

A big revelation though is that the Deluxe Class Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime will be a Wal Mart Exclusive. He'll be shipped in solid cases of 8, so he'll be plentiful at stores, but this is the first time a new mold has been store exclusive and not been part of a previous assortment of figures that was cancelled.

Check out the full listings below. We also have some low resolution images of all the new exclusives, liberated from the Excel spreadsheet by 2005 Boards member Locustreign!

Target Exclusive Deluxe Case - 2 of each - July 17th
1) Jazz with Cybertronian Tattoos ( black redeco )
2) Arcee with Cybertronian Tattoos
3) Bumblebee with Cybertronian Tattoos
4) Space Case ( Terradive with new Headsculpt)

Target Exclusive Voyager Case 1 - June 23rd
1) Starscream - ROTF Redeco
2) Ratchet - ROTF Redeco

Wal-Mart Deluxe Solid Case x 8 - June 23rd
1) Deluxe Optimus Prime

Wal-Mart Deluxe Case June 23rd
1) Bumblebee - Movie 1 Redeco x 5
2) Sideswipe - Nascar redeco x 3

The Transformers Collectors Club has released a pair of new images. The first is a new look at Generation 2 Ramjet in jet mode. The new image (down at the time of writing?) gives a better look at what the jet mode will look like but don't judge it too quickly - the Collector's Club tweeted the following:

Yeah, the lighting is a little dull on the alt pic. We rushed to get that up. Def sharper than that...

The second is an amended robot mode image of Transtech Cheetor. Do you see the improvement to the face? Cheetor's lost the black paint around his eyes, giving him an altogether more pleasing look.

Preorders for both are expected to go up at some point in the coming days.

iGear have updated their Facebook page with a teaser image of one of their upcoming partner products. This one is the MGT-6 Night-Bird, based on the robo-ninja Nightbird from the Generation 1 episode "Enter the Nightbird". iGear's Night-Bird is a non-transforming piece with what appears to be a decent level of articulation, and very small accessories in the form of sais, shurikans and a chain. Her chest is also removable - not like that! - to expose the mechanics inside. Overall, this appears to be a very well done and show-acurate version of Nightbird.

What might be also of interest is the reference number. MGT was also used for the Arcee "Delicate Warrior". So who are MGT-2 through 5? One might be the Firestar we saw once before, but who are the other three? Evidently there's something in store - or a deliberate decision to skip a few numbers to create a demand!

Time for something a bit different. The Warner Archives have been releasing the classic Hanna-Barbera shows we all grew up with in the 80s, and amongst them, the Challenge of the GoBots! It's being released as a "manufacture on demand" according to TVShowsonDVD, and sold direct through the WBShop website. It's currently being set for a May release. No word on if it is the whole show or just a single season boxed set, but for those of us who remember the great 80s rival to Transformers in the early days, here's a chance to relive some of those good old Saturday morning memories.

Transformers Generations 2011 Volume 1 has been released in Japan! The new book includes a whole host of Japanese Transformers Toyline articles, including:

Dark of the Moon Wave 1 Preview
Revenge of the Fallen Retrospective
Transformers United Introduction
Animated Decepticon Illustration Gallery / Character List Part 2
Generation 1 Japanese catalogues
Latest Kabaya items

As well as a trio of interviews, one with Hideaki Yoke and Koujin Ono regarding the Transformers Hall of Fame, one regarding Transformers United & Generations, and one with the Kabaya staff.

There's also some very cool ancilliary material. As posted by Guido Guidi on his Deviant Art Account yesterday, the book contains the complete Simon Furman / Guido Guidi Transformers Unite for the Universe story. The first four chapters were released with the Movie Masterpiece series but are presented here in unabridged form - the fifth and final, concluding chapter is also included in this book to wrap up the story. This article is accompanied by a look at the canceled Unite for the Universe Optimus Prime - a Movie Voyager Optimus Prime with add-on Jetfire armor for his power up mode.

Last but not least is the image you can see to the left of this story, showing a Transformers Animated face-off - Optimus Prime VS Motormaster, and Sari VS Shattered Glass Sari, as designed by Derrick J Wyatt himself! Shattered Glass Sari might possibly be a look at the unmade Transformers Animated Season 4, which would have included a Shattered Glass episode - would this Sari have been a part of it? Maybe not, but it's still cool to see this "what if Sari was evil?" concept.

Check out some high resolution images from the latest Transformers Dark of the Moon Theatrical Trailer (one from April 2011). In it we see samples of all the Bayhem that is bound to take place this July.

From alien spaceships on the moon, to all out carnage in Chicago, to Shockwave and his arm cannon, to Laserbeak swooping down - wing fans and all, to some up close eye candy shots of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. And of course Bumblebee and Optimus Prime get some nice play too. If you look close, you can even see the Red Ferrari (tentatively named Mirage!)

All caps are 1920 x 800. Enjoy!

MSN TV Guide has updated their listings for Transformers Prime with the titles of two more episodes. The next two episodes are titled Operation: Breakdown and Crisscross. Bad news is the airdates indicate we've got another brief break in new episodes after Shadowzone on 14 May - Episode 16, Operation: Breakdown, will air on 18 June, and on 25 June Episode 17 Crisscross will air.

Although on the plus side with what is sure to be an onslaught of Dark of the Moon media in the intervening weeks, we'll hardly be starved for new Transformers goodness.

TFC Toys t.sina account has updated with a new image of their upcoming custom tank and plane robots. These little guys have conspicuous Power Core Combiner sockets on the tanks and therefore might be fully transforming Power Core Combiner limbs. They aren't based on any particular existing Transformers designs, though they are based on real world tanks and planes - T-34 and Tiger 1 tanks, and P-51 Mustang and J-7 Shinden planes. Pretty cool, and if they are Power Core Combiner compatible they only get better. For now, check out the new images.

2005 Boards member Masabon has shared with us a look at the upcoming Transformers Heat Scramble Collectible Card Game, a Japanese exclusive collectible game game featuring our favorite robots in disguise. The card illustrations, such as the awesome artwork of the twins seen at left, is all new work for this card game and is a great reason to pick up a deck of these cards even if you don't plan on playing the game. Speaking of the twins, the Skids and Mudflap card seen at left is apparently a special card given out to players who sampled the game at Akihabara's Hobby Station in Japan.

You can check out a promotional poster showing off a selection of the cards that will be available and other images by reading on. Transformers Heat Scramble Collectible Card Game officially launches in Japan on 14 May.
