Thundercats Classics Tygra 8 Inch Figure

JohnnyAngel77 02-10-2011 12:43 PM

Stuff is looking great. I'm sold on the Classics line already. I'm really curious to see the 6" figures still. I'm curious if they will flow well with other 6" lines.

Joe Moore 02-10-2011 12:51 PM

Updated with Hi-Res images!

sabretooth 02-10-2011 01:33 PM

holy crap the sword of omens extends!

Joe Moore 02-10-2011 01:34 PM

Classics Tygra is straight up awesome. As is classics Lion-O. The 2011 figures are not too shabby either. The Thunder Tank is fantastic. Love the Snarf peeking out.

Tony_Bacala 02-10-2011 01:39 PM

Glad that it's confirmed that Cheetara is 4 inch, not the classics. There was a bit of confusion floating around there for a bit.

Digging the "4 inch" Panthro too.

JohnnyAngel77 02-10-2011 01:39 PM

I wonder how long we will be waiting to see a Classics Panthro. I doubt we will see it at Toyfair since its not even part of the first wave.

The_Eva-Living 02-10-2011 01:46 PM

WOW!! That Classics Tigra is great... just wish these guys were a little shorter. Oh well. Definite buy. Now..... Mumm-ra please ;)

SAF7 02-10-2011 01:50 PM

Okay, I absolutely need that Sword of Omens. I cannot wait for that and the Classics line to start!

ThunderTomkat21 02-10-2011 01:50 PM

I kind of hope Bandai has plans to expand the 8" scale beyond Thundercats...like maybe Classic MMPR figures in that scale with that format of articulation.

Might pick up Lion-O and the eventual Classics Mum-ra. The 4" figures don't look bad.

Echo7Solo 02-10-2011 01:53 PM

the classics look great. Not sure about the new ones yet but do love the classics.

I'd actually pick up some of the first season originals if they were to do this.

soundwavempl 02-10-2011 02:17 PM

I'm definitely getting the Classics line. They look great!

nitewing73 02-10-2011 02:18 PM

I like it. I'm really looking forward to the Classic and new toon lines.

Well see I'm noticing a pattern. The 4" Thundercats figures seem to be the exact same format as the 4" MMPR and now, Samurai Ranger figures. The old MMPR figures are arguably still the best MMPR figures, and IIRC, were 8" scale too.

Now if we're lucky, Tamashii(Bandai Japan's collectors' division), will be itching to make SH Figurarts Thundercats, and if that happens, collectors will go ape shit and preorder the fuck out of them. Helps that they're 6" scale IIRC.

I dig how the 4" figures have magnet activated features. Clever, and does not take up space unlike electronic and spring activated gimmicks! UNCOMPROMISED ARTICULATION FOR THE FUCKING WIN!

firmpulse 02-10-2011 02:29 PM

the new tygra comes with a funoodle!

ThunderTomkat21 02-10-2011 02:46 PM

Wait a minute...are those ball AND swivel wrists?

Looks like it, very interesting. Only articulation they don't have that would be very beneficial is the ab crunch. Other than that, I'm super happy for these.

crackus 02-10-2011 03:09 PM

Friggin hell!! These are awesome!! Can't wait to have these!!

crackus 02-10-2011 03:14 PM

I'm so happy I've pre ordered these. More pics please!! :)

Smasher 02-10-2011 03:15 PM

Those are awesome.
I can't wait to see more.

MegaPrime33 02-10-2011 03:15 PM

I am very impressed with with Tygra. I have no doubt the whole classics line is going to be awesome. I wonder if they'll do vehicles and playsets to go with them?

That would be extremely awesome but I doubt we will see any. Being these are 8", a Thundertank would be pretty big. Well, unless it was just like the original that only held one figure (if I recall right).

I was wondering if the 6" line will get any, though?

Well it looks like Lion-O at least has a mid-chest ball, and Tygra may very well be sporting a NECA-style ball waist. These look fantastic, I can't wait. I hope the new cartoon is great, I'm not sure I'd pick up the newer styled figures if it's not.

Let's see some villains!

Panth-ro 02-10-2011 04:11 PM

Those 8" Lion-O and Tygra figures are awesome. Im so tempted in collecting them.

DESTRO 02-10-2011 04:22 PM

I'm all over those classics figures. Can't wait to see these in person at the Bandai ThunderCats Toy Fair 2011 Booth.

BLACK SWAN 02-10-2011 04:30 PM

WOW!The Thunder Cats , Lion-O and Tygra . Awesome!!!

misfit1015 02-10-2011 04:46 PM

Classic line is looking amazing. I'm still kinda iffy on the 4" line, I think i want to see them in person first.

trebleshot 02-10-2011 05:06 PM

Really starting to get excited about what's to come.

Pravus Prime 02-10-2011 05:37 PM

Wow, those 8 inch figures continue to knock my socks off.

Now show me Mumm-Ra!

Hammerhand 02-10-2011 05:54 PM

Dig the Tygra!

Sabien 02-10-2011 07:23 PM

Those classics guys are seven shades of awesome!

vadersquest 02-10-2011 07:44 PM

Nice! I am excited about the classic figures. I will get to see them in person in a few days and I cannot wait!

JohnnyAngel77 02-10-2011 08:18 PM

I'm jealous of you guys that get to go to Toyfair!

But in a good way. :D

Bravestarr 02-10-2011 08:41 PM

I'm hoping we see a bit more from Mezco.

Razorclaw 02-10-2011 10:48 PM

These r some sweet figures.

Thunder 02-10-2011 11:20 PM

nice! looking forward to the classic figs!!

nitewing73 02-11-2011 12:17 AM

I can't wait to see more of the classics figures. The price seems in line with the DC Classics line so it seems pretty reasonable and less than the MOTUC on the Matty website.

nitewing73 02-11-2011 12:17 AM

Hope they do Hatchiman and Snowman in the classic line as well.

Pink Panthro 02-11-2011 12:25 AM

DEAR GOD! THE CLASSICS TOYS HAVE THE WONDERFUL ULTIMATE MUSCLE ANKLES. but wheres tigra's torso articulation :"(

Dawg99 02-11-2011 04:51 AM

Man oh Man those Classic figures kick all kinds of Ass!!
I can't wait to see more of the Classics..
Gonna be a great line of figures

Grune the Destroyer 02-11-2011 08:05 AM

Classics Tygra looks every bit as good as Lion-O. Man, I'm in for the whole Classic series. Looks great.

Joe Moore 02-11-2011 08:32 AM

Really glad people are digging the Classics figures. I think the line is going to be fantastic. I just hope it sells well enough to keep it going for awhile.

I don't think Tony is going to be there until Saturday. We'll have detailed reports from the show though.

Ashley 02-11-2011 11:37 AM

I think Snarf peeking out of the Thundertank has me sold on that now. It's exactly how I'd want to display it.

More of a 4" collector than anything else, but I do find the Classics figures to be really tempting. The original cast wasn't huge so I think I'll have to go up my collecting scale since the full team wouldn't take up all that much room and they look great so far.

King T'Challa 02-11-2011 12:11 PM

Hmm. I hate to be "that guy" but, I don't know about these figures. I always reserve full judgement until I have one in hand, but I think these figs are looking a bit dated. Who does a balled neck-joint that starts in the shoulders anymore? And what's up with the (bad) vintage styled musculature? Comparing these figs to other "Classics" styled figs we have today, I'm not that impressed.

Like everyone else, I'm excited that we're getting new 'Cats toys, but we shouldn't call just anything they throw at us "awesome". Not yet, anyway.

I'll be that "other guy" then. Its freakin Thundercats, they aren't hideous by any means at all. I'd much rather have something that was just short of perfect (and this has yet to be seen and won't be until they are in hand) than nothing at all. We have waited 20+ years for these and now we get them. Awesome. :D

Pink Panthro 02-11-2011 12:43 PM

the lion-o really does look fantastic, if not just for his glove lol. i will say this, i have a bunch of ultimate muscles from 02 or so, and they wont fit with heman. so if they stay like this they get their own shelf. i dont think they will mind :D

Ocelon 02-11-2011 04:55 PM

Is it just me or does both Lion-Os' swords seem oddly long for one-handed blades?
