Upgraded Thundertank name revealed: the Sabertank
 

Thundercats Crew Blog, How much did the Berbils add to the new Thundertank? Do the Cats have actual places to sleep and cook now?

I found it a bit interesting, that WB has basically progressed the idea of the SARK from TigerSharks.

Not only do you keep things moving with a mobile HQ, there aren't a lot of franchise properties that have worked around the dying market of massive playsets. Sure, there's no real toy of the Sabertank yet, but the idea is there.

I think Transformers is really the only other property who has valued the idea of the mobile HQ.

At the same time, I am sad that the playset era is over. The Cat's Lair was just amazing, and well built; what a contrast to Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain.

I think you ended up inspiring me to start the whole discussion about Playsets and Mobile HQ toys; whether or not it takes off...

What do we think the chances are this will be a toy or add on to the thundertank?

I'm kinda hoping for a whole new toy. I'd love a color accurate Thundertank.

As much as I dont want another thundertank. I think it's the only way to do it right and make It big enough for figures to fit inside.

Why's it called the Sabertank? It sounds weird. Not something i can see Panthro naming.

Apparently the Thundertank is still the Thundertank, the upgrade attachment and collective unit is called the Sabertank.

Sabertank, eh? Probably Lion-O named it just because he has the Sword of Omens.

I think we need a home base that stays put, like the Cats Lair. Perhaps after the Thundercats free all the slaves they could try and create a settlement somewhere (New Thundera) and build it there? I think it just adds a cool dynamic to the show and also creates more stories where the Lizards / Mummra and co try to infiltrate them.

I wonder that when Lion-O frees the other cats, will they return home to Thundera or build a new Thundera elsewhere?

I wish I hadn't been so ignorant or prideful of anime when it was first coming to North America. I think I missed a lot of good, US and Canadian made cartoons during that time.
