Interview with Writer Mike Jelenic - Some Spoilers Too!

Hi everyone!

An interview with writer Mike Jelenic was posted!

In the interview were a few interesting pieces of information.

Original Thundercats writer Peter Lawrence will be returning to write an episode for the new series.

Pumyra will have several episodes devoted to her, and will be appearing later on in the season. (I think he was referring to season 1 in this instance.)

The flute song that plays during the sequence where Claudis is buried, has a backstory, that will eventually be revealed.

Awesome... highlights for me:

- They do want to have each episode to have a moral, as this is similar to the old series, they just integrate it into the plot instead of Lion-O recite it at the end. They say half of the episodes will focus on Lion-O learning a lesson that helps him to become a true king from a prince. So, if you don't like this aspect of the show, tough luck.
- Things are not "forgotten". We'll find out in episode 14 only why Cheetara was following Lion-O around in the first episodes.
- Snarf was almost considered to be left out of the reboot. And even so, he almost ended up as a "silent, deadly" guard dog pet... I can already picture 90-ies Snarf drawn by Frank Miller.
- Peter Lawrence, a writer of the original series, will be writing an episode.
- A future episode will explore the background of the Thunderkittens, in particular where that tune Wilykit played at the start of episode 3 comes from.
- Pumyra will return, and even have several episodes devoted to her, but they will have a different take on the character.
- Driller and Safari Joe were mentioned.

I am thankful that they took the step to bring back the series. I look forward to see what they have instore for us, I just hope they give us more than 2 seasons this time around.

Thundercats was 4 seasons. The dvds aren't labeled right. Season one is right. Season 2 3 and 4 are labeled season 2. Yes I'm aware they have the same amount of episodes. No that doesn't matter.

I stand corrected, thank you Panthro. Either which way, I am thankful they are back
