I'm saying he probably doesn't remember it nearly as clearly as the flashback was. He might remember bits and pieces and how he felt at the time, but I don't think he would remember exact words that...

He says In the episode that he wasn't told the story until later. We're watching flashbacks, but that doesn't mean every single detail we see is something he's describing in the story.
