Of course ratings are important. But for that to even be a credible argument you'd have to assume that B/P fans are the majority of the audience and that they'd all quit the show if it didn't happen. Which I'd be more than willing to bet isn't the case.

All we know about the L/C/T is a triangle, those three is what the WB boss said.

B/P are all together different. They have no time to develop L/P, they could already have B/P knowing each other like in the OS.
