Considering how treacherous Cheetara seems to be, Tygra may want to be careful Cheetara doesn't decide to get rid of him and take the sword for herself. Maybe that was her plan all along, get rid of Lion-o to make sure the sword would be in the hands of someone who could never use its full power. Then she can make her grab for ultimate power.
