It just occured to me that we didn't get a new opening sequence for the second season. No judgement, just interesting. Getting close to the end of the season already.

There were about eleventy billion things that were weird about this episode, but the one that got me was why did Mandora need Lynx-O? The route that the TC take is to avoid the Thundranium, a weakness that Mandora doesn't share. Plus she has a space ship; when you can do an orbital landing, "you can't get there" to any point on the surface becomes impossible.

Mumm-Rana's Belt: ... What is this, the bad part of the season? Maybe I would've liked it more had the original story been about Luna rather than her Grandmother (which given that Luna herself is far older then Lynx-O seems unnecessary). Anyway, Luna is a whore and I don't feel like talking about this crappy episode anymore.

Hachiman's Honor: WTF is Hachiman doing in modern Third Earth? If Snarf could resist Alluro, how does Hachiman fail (and to a samurai to give up is practically to lose his life, so Alluro's suggestion shouldn't have worked either)? How did Luna pick up the Thunder-Cutter? Hachiman lost more then his honor, he lost his soul (to a samurai his sword is his soul)! Fortunately the last act is better then the preceding ones to make an OK episode, a solid one if you can accept Hachiman being around.
