I saw this news story this morning,
Schnarfle: A Word And A Bond That Helped A Little Girl Heal | ThePostGame
which in quick summary, a family was skiing when the daughter had a terrible accident. During the home recovery, the father insisted that she use the word Schnarfle at the start of any request to help keep her spirits up. "Schnarfle, I want a glass of water."
Given he's the right age along with that it's practically the same word, I wonder if he vaguely recalled ThunderCats when coming up with a silly word to keep his daughters spirits up. Schnarf = Snarf. "Snarf, but Lion-O!"
