NECA has revealed their Nightmare On Elm St. 4: The Dream Child - Black and White Freddy Krueger San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive.
Don’t Fall Asleep! There’s never been a better argument in favor of insomnia than A Nightmare on Elm Street, and for the latest in our series of San Diego Comic Con exclusive items, we’ve got the Gloved One himself, Freddy Krueger, as he appeared in the fifth installment of the franchise, The Dream Child. The movie, which came out in 1989, has a cult within the cult of the larger series, and — what really matters — it features some of Freddy’s best kills ever. Best of all might be Mark Gray. A comic book geek before it was cool to be a comic book geek, Mark fantasized about getting the girl, being the hero, etc. So what did Freddy do? Well, Freddy sucked him into a comic book world, to live out his worst nightmare, of course! He is the dream master, after all. Mark — brave and hopeless soul that he was — fought back by turning himself into his own superhero, The Phantom Prowler, and blowing Freddy to tiny little bits. *Spoiler alert*: It didn’t work, Freddy came back to life, turned Mark into paper and sliced him to shreds with his always-terrifying glove. The Gory Details But, to honor Mark’s efforts and to honor the series as we always do, we’ve included an actual foldable, sliceable paper recreation of Mark Gray with this grayscale 7″ Freddy action figure, which captures the look of that death scene and the comic book world. What could be more perfect for SDCC than a superhero-destroying Freddy Krueger? Well, we don’t really know. That’s kind of why we made it. Con-Exclusive B&W Comic Book Freddy also comes with a skateboard and his trademark hat, which he just wouldn’t be Freddy without. Read on for the images.... [Read More] |

Kotobukiya has revealed photos and info for a new Star Wars Statue. The Star Wars Darth Vader - Return of Anakin Skywalker ARTFX+ Statue.
A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The Dark Lord of the Sith is back! The latest release in the hit line of smaller scale Star Wars ARTFX+ Statues steps right out of Return of the Jedi: Darth Vader Return of Anakin Skywalker Artfx! An all new representation of the iconic villain, Vader joins the elite lineup of your favorite heroes and villains from the original Star Wars films in the Saga Collection, following great statues like The Empire Strikes Back version, Boba Fett, C-3PO, and R2-D2. More powerful than ever before in the Force as well as mastery of the lightsaber, Darth Vader prepares for his final battle as the Rebel fleet hammers the fully operational Death Star. Updated to match his appearance in Return of the Jedi, the fallen Jedi stands with his crimson lightsaber at the ready for both attack and defense. A tall and imposing figure, Vader is like a coiled viper with his legs slightly bent and his lightsaber held in both hands. The Dark Lord’s armor is intricately detailed and sculpted perfectly to match its appearance in the film with all of the mechanical and cloth elements distinctly textured. You can even display Vader in a variety of poses and looks with multiple interchangeable arm parts and head pieces featuring the iconic helmet or the unmasked Anakin Skywalker! Like all Star Wars ARTFX+ Statues, he has magnets in his feet for display on the included base. ARTFX+ Statues are fun-to-assemble pre-painted snap-fit kits that can be easily put together in seconds without glue or modeling skill. Darth Vader stands approximately 7.5 inches tall (1/10th scale) and is the perfect centerpiece for your Saga Collection! Available December 2012. Read on for a full gallery of the statue.... Fear the terrible roar of the Centaur! Leader of Shao Kahn's Extermination Squads and sworn mortal enemy of the Shokan race, Motaro shakes the Earth as he marches his way into your home. This monster stands 16" tall on a base that features a special design (a nod dedicated to all the hardcore MK fans passionate enough to figure out its meaning). With attention to detail and our fans' feedback, we managed to finalize his sculpt by giving the Centaur more demonic and animalistic facial-features while still maintaining a balance between the classic and the new. We've received some information via our sponsors Robot Kingdom, suggesting that the rumored Masterpiece Transformer MP-14 is actually Red Alert. The reported MP-12A is now promoted to have his very own numbered release, if this information is accurate. We'll find out for sure when the news comes in from the Tokyo Toy Show on 18 June, which will include the first public unveiling of the new Masterpieces.
On the same report is an update about Masterpiece Soundwave. There's a bit of a cost increase reported (from 12000yen to 15800yen) but also of interest is the confirmation that Soundwave will only include the one cassette, and that one cassette will be Laserbeak. Again, treat this all as unconfirmed for the time being (although Robot Kingdom has never steered us wrong in the past). The truth will out in good time, on 18 June at the Tokyo Toy Show 2012. |

NECA has posted images for another of their upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusives. the newest reveal is for a Gears of War 3 Elite Theron 7" Action Figure.
Get your Lancer ready! We’ll have more Gears of War 3 news to come later this week, and NECA Headquarters is proud today to reveal the latest in our series of San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusives: The Elite Theron 7″ action figure! The Theron Elite — AKA the Onyx Theron — are more than just cleverly named. These guys are the elites of the elites in the Locust Horde — some of the most dangerous and most deadly Locusts that Marcus Fenix, Dom and the rest of the COG soldiers ever face in the series. This brand new SDCC Exclusive Elite Theron 7″ figure comes with the Horde’s signature Torquebow and features the black and red look they have in the game. “He’s some kind of super Elite!” — Zeta Squad They’re the rarest of the Theron and were once thought to be just a nasty rumor, but the Theron Elite serve as the direct underlings of General RAAM, who leads the Locust Horde and whose viciousness they match. Hard to kill, a workout for your Retro Lancer and terrifying to behold, this figure captures their monstrous look on a 7″ scale and has 14 points of articulation. What could be more appropriate for an SDCC exclusive than the rarest character in the game? Make sure you check out our other 2012 SDCC Exclusives: Comic Book Freddy Krueger, Hero from the Sky Ash, Cloaked City Hunter Predator and the Giant-Man HeroClix, and stay tuned for more announcements to come this week. Here is something rather cool. The Transformers the Ride experience at Universal Studios Hollywood has its own giftshop and dining area attached, and in the dining area, we've got some cool Transformers themed eats and drinks. For soda, there's a sharp Energon themed commemorative cup - Energon, preferred fuel of Transformers! It's cream soda, with a light in the cup which pulses and flashes.
There's also a milk chocolate version of the Allspark cube from the 2007 movie which is a deliciously nice take on confectionery. Every detail is painstaking recreated - all the better for you to eat! It's tagged as exclusive to the Ride, so the only place you'll get this one is at Transformers the Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. |

NECA has revealed that their upcoming Bioshock 2 Brute Splicer will be a Toys "R" Us Exclusive.
A First-Rate Ruffian Top man, indeed. The Brute Splicer may be the biggest target in BioShock 2, but it’s going to take more than aim to bring him down. Our latest BioShock action figure is the Brute Splicer, and it’s arriving as a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive. The Brute Splicer was initially a part of a third series of BioShock figures, and if this one does well, we’ve still got a few other Splicers up our sleeve. But considering the tale behind this cockney-accented London native, we thought this might be a good time to highlight his story: "As a skilled boxer, he left London behind to make his way in Rapture. Quick to anger and bigger than most, he found that he rarely fit in with other men. When the city cracked open, he changed with it. The flooded streets tested him man against man and his skills made him a first-rate ruffian — never afraid to hit below the belt. After years of hoarding ADAM he’s now capable of inhuman feats of strength — hurling insults one minute, tables the next."When “Performance Enhancing” Goes Wrong The Brute Splicer was created when Leo Hartwig combined Sports Boost and Armored Shell gene tonics. Seems like a pretty cool idea, except that Leo tested the formula on himself and, whoops, he became the very first Brute Splicer. NECA has revealed their upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive: Assassin's Creed Eagle Vision Ezio Auditore.
Fly like an eagle Not to be confused with the full-size sedan Chrysler produced in the mid-’90s, this Eagle Vision refers to Ezio Auditore’s sixth sense and one of the most helpful characteristics in the Assassin’s Creed series. Today, we unveil our new Eagle Vision Ezio Auditore 7″ action figure as our final exclusive for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con! Eagle Vision, passed down from an ancient line of assassins and interminably helpful in figuring out who’s a friend and who’s an enemy, gives people and objects a color-coded aura. Red is for enemies, blue for friends, gold for targets who may be able to help and white for information sources or hiding spots. “Why do we have these gifts? These abilities? Because it’s in our blood!” — Clay KaczmarekWe’ve had a few Ezios lately — see also Hooded Ezio Onyx, Unhooded Ezio Onyx, not to mention the DaVinci Glider in which they soar — but Eagle Vision Ezio is truly something unique in our ongoing collection of Assassin’s Creed action figures, with the translucent look and the included Eagle accessory. Ezio himself has an astounding 38+ points of articulation and three sets of interchangeable hands. The Eagle has articulated wings and a perch to land on. Clamshell packaging. See photos of the SDCC Ezio 7" Figure after the jump.... [Read More] |
