Great news, Transformers Kabaya kit fans! We've got a double reveal to share with you now. Revealed today on Rakutan stores, Snakas' blog and the Cybergundam blog amongst many others are two new series of Transformers Kabaya kits. First of all, there is a fifth wave of the revived Kabaya Transformers, and second, a new Kabaya combiner set.
Starting with Wave 5, there are three great new additions in the form of Deathsaurus from Transformers Victory, War for Cybertron Optimus Prime and a Classics style reimaginging of Protectobot Hot Spot. Some pretty cool choices - and another Transformers Victory character given some love as a Kabaya! Each kit in the set also comes with extra parts to form "full armour" Deathsaurus - I'm guessing that means he'll have both breastmasters? The second new reveal is the combiner set, a follow on to the reimagined Multiforce Gaia Cross. This set is named Gaia Guardian and is based on the Protectobots - with a couple of extra members. The six Protectobots here are named Streetwise, First Aid, Graze (aka Blades), Groove, Skyfeather and Heatrock. Streetwise, First Aid, Graze and Groove are all looking to be faithful updates to the original Protectobots from these images - the two newcomers, Skyfeather and Heatrock, a VTOL plane and a drill tank, are homages to a pair of Brave characters. All six together merge into the super robot, Gaia Guardian. But there's more! As alluded to in an interview graciously translated by 2005 Boards member SydneyY, this is a full on Kabaya Scramble City combiner - Kabaya Transformers Wave 5 Hot Spot can merge with the Gaia Guardian to form a full-on Defensor update, God Guardian! Are you as excited as me? Sound off on our 2005 Boards! |

Zap2it has updated with the title and description of the 28th episode of Transformers Prime. The title is no surprise considering the title of the season premiere, and the description - which I think most people following the show saw coming a mile away - does spoil a certain plot development, so read at your own risk.

Thanks to Transformers at The Moon, a new image of the upcoming Mount St. Hillary playset has been posted online. This time, the image features a Minicon Warpath rolling out from the entrance to the playset. Not much else is known about this playset just yet. Who is making it and where it will be available are still unknowns. Keep checking TFW for more info on this, especially if it's something you'd like to add to your collection for Legends, Mini-cons or Cyberverse figures.

A neew images has reached us of the Transformers Prime Arms Microns - the new mold, non-exclusive ones. These guys are set to be Capsule Toys. Four are shown so far, and from this and previous images, we believe this is only the first assortment! Shown here are two Autobot and two Decepticon Arms Microns - the Autobots convert into guns, and the Decepticons into melee weapons including a nasty looking buzzsaw axe thing. Their robot modes are equally divided based on their faction - the Autobots get robot modes, while the Decepticons get animal modes, a chameleon and a cobra. Pretty awesome!

New images have been released of the upcoming Japanese versions of the Transformers Prime mainline toys, including the (for now) Japan only Skywarp. A recolored version of the First Edition Starscream, Skywarp also appears to come with new accessories.
Also shown in the new images are Japan's gimmick for the new line - unlike the US series emphasis on MechTech on the bigger toys and standard accessories on the Deluxes, Japan's releases all feature Arms Microns, small partner figures that transform into the weapons of the main characters - so Ratchet has a laser scalpel Arms Micron, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper have partners that becomes their arm cannons, etc. This is a real departure - it is the first time a Japanese mainline has featured this extent of different toolings for many years. Image of Skywarp originally from Kapow Toys. Transformers Prime Japan toys can also be preordered at our sponsors TFSource, Big Bad Toy Store and Hobby Link Japan |

An email has just gone out minutes ago to customers who have ordered the Transformers Japanese Collection DVD set from the Shout Factory website. This fix is in regards to subtitling errors in a few episodes in the set (though no specific errors were cited). The replacement discs will be sent out automatically to those who have purchased from Shout Factory, no special requests need to be made. The entire message from Shout Factory is as follows:
A few of you have written in to us about errors in the subtitling on a couple episodes in your Transformers Japanese Collection set. We are moving quickly to fix those errors and manufacture two replacement discs for your set and will ship them to you in about two weeks. They will ship automatically to anyone who has purchased the set from ShoutFactory -- you do not have to make any special requests or respond to this email. In the event you’re planning future purchases for friends or recommending the title, please know that our entire inventory in the warehouse and all future runs are also being corrected simultaneously. So those that have not yet purchased need not fret, the warehouse inventory will be updated accordingly. Those of you who already have the set in your possession let us know what subtitling fixes are needed in our forums! Also make sure to let us know when your replacement discs arrive! |

Transformers Dark of the Moon has been nominated for an Oscar for its visual effects - hardly surprising considering it is a movie that packs in so much draw-dropping special effects into its two hours 20 minutes running time. What we have here as shared by MichaelBay.com is the actual visual effects reel, 10 minutes showcasing the gamut of special effects from Transformers Dark of the Moon, sent to Academy members for their consideration when deciding which of the nominees to award the Oscar for Best Visual Effects to.
Check out the reel embedded below to remind yourself of some of the very best draw dropping special effects sequences from Dark of the Moon: Transformers' Oscars VFX Reel from Michael Bay Dot Com on Vimeo. |

A further catalog scan from the Nuremberg Toy Fair has revealed a new look at the Transformers Prime Cyberverse Energon Driller with Knock Out. The Driller is shown here in its "transformed" state looking much closer to how it appears on the show. Knock Out is also shown individually for the first time - he features two weapons, his melee Energon Shock Staff and his buzzsaw, both done in the usual clear plastic for the Cyberverse line. Read on and check out the new image, which also has another look at the Cyberverse Wheeljack included.

CM's Corp have updated their homepage with some new information and prototype images of their Guttu Kurru series Ginrai. This licensed figure from CMs represents Ginrai in his exosuit. If it's anything like CM's other offering, Minerva, it will come with three different facial expressions plus and a removeable helmet. The figure will stand 185mm tall and be released sometime this year.

Back in December, a grey resin prototype of a Super-Deformed Optimus popped up on Weibo. Today, we have a color image of this figure courtesy of the weibo page of tktf (Login Required). As of now, a 3rd party group has still not laid claim to the project. But if what we saw back in December is still accurate, this figure is still transformable and comes with a paper trailer.
Take a look at the new images after the break. |

Hasbro’s 2011 4th Quarter Earnings Conference Call was held just moments ago. We at TFW2005 joined the call with Hasbro to know what’s heading our way in 2012.
Most of the information was regarding financial matters and information which most of you already may know. But, it was interesting to know what’s going on behind-the-scenes. Hasbro mentioned few tidbits of what they have planned to do in 2012 and mentioned that there will be “New Characters” introduced for Transformers. This was said immediately after Hasbro’s CEO Bryan Goldner mentioning Transformers: Prime and therefore it is safe to assume that these new characters were regarding Transformers: Prime. We have noted-down some important facts from the Conference Call for our dear readers. You can check out TFW2005’s coverage of the event, after the jump. |

Amazon has added a preorder page for an official soundtrack CD for Transformers Prime Season 1! The 25 track score by Brian Tyler is set to be released on 20 March 2012, priced at $15.92 on Amazon. Although, while it is explicitly titled "season 1" there's a track in there that appears to reference a season 2 character...
