The official Transformers Facebook page has updated with a whole bunch of official images of the Bot Shots series, including our first look at some official pictures of what we're assuming is going to be the Wave 3 of the single packs!
The new official images give us a look at the robot and alternate modes of: Thundercracker Jetfire Lockdown Topspin (Dark of the Moon style) Megatron, a different one based on the Dark of the Moon truck mode. Cast in translucent plastic, he is probably the "Super Bot" chase figure for this assortment. Check out the official pics by clicking on the link above. |

Here's the latest buzz on Transformers 4. E! Online is reporting that while Michael Bay may be returning, several actors including Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Shia Labeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are not. Speaking to Josh Duhamel at a launch event for the Playstation Vita, Josh stated that he does not know that any of the leading players are doing this new instalment in the live action movie series. In his own words,
"I haven't heard anything about it. They haven't called me." This may change of course - Transformers 4 is still over two years away so must be very much in the very earliest stages. Casting / recalls may simply not have taken place yet. Although it is also a real possibility with the word that this will be a "reimagining" there might be a complete change of the cast. More news will be posted here as it reaches us. |

Igear has updated their Facebook page with a new image of a project they've been working on for some time. Presser is the name of this figure and it is based off of the comic book only character, Impactor. Teased last year, this is the first update we've had for the figure and the quote on the Facebook page reads, "Finally, not so far away..."

Thanks to 2005 Board members Agent Adam and MitchSantona we have two reviews of Shattered Glass Drift. One is Pictorial Review flavored while the other comes in the form of a video review. One of this years highly anticipated offerings from the Transformers Collectors' Club, Shattered Glass Drift uses the Generations Drift mold as a base and comes with Drift's swords and a pair of hand guns from the Blurr use of the mold. The character is based off of Marvel Universe's Deadpool character. So fans of Transformers and Wade Wilson will want to snatch this guy up.

Next up is the 2nd 2012 exclusive from the Transformers Collectors Club (and also courtesy of 2005 board members Agent Adam and mitchsantona) is a Classics update on one of the Generation 1 Battlechargers, Runabout. Renamed Over-Run for this release, this figure uses the Generations Wheeljack figure for a base and features a brand new head mold. Included in these pictures is an alternate transformation cooked up by 2005 Board member General Tekno, that gives the figure a more "G1ish" backpack. Over-Run's partner in crime, Runamuck, will be available for free from the Collectors' Club if you're a subscribed member by March 16th.

Thanks to TFW2005's very own Seth Buzzard, we now have an image of an upcoming TFCToys product into the Hercules line, this time being an expansion set for the now completely released Hercules. Called the Rage of Herclues set, this set comes with a new headsculpt (with an optional "Rage Face"), forearms, shoulder extensions, and the gun we first reported a few days ago. As well as these new parts, the set also contains the 7th Bio Card for Hercules itself, and a new poster. This set will be released sometime in May. There is no news regarding price at this time.
UPDATE: We now have two clearer images of the banner. As well as this banner that was on show at the AOD Convention in San Francisco, Seth Buzzard also reports on Twitter that the planned TFCToys exclusive was not available at the show, as it was held up in Customs. |

With the news of the seventh set in the six figure Hercules set being announced, now seemed like a great time to share with you these latest two galleries of the TFC Toys Hercules project! Here for your viewing pleasure are Dr Crank and Structor - the fourth and third members of the team to be released, both by TFC Toys and also by the numbering on the original Generation 1 backer cards for the toys they were based on. Funny coincidence, that one!
As with the rest of the set, these two are big, chunky figures, far removed from the more intricate, delicate feeling offerings of FansProject or Perfect Effect. That is not to say they are flawless though - Dr Crank really has a hard time supporting that massive crane on his shoulder, and Structor's shoulders click rather loudly! However, both are still good, fun releases, with enough features and mass to them that they go some way to justifying their wallet-slaying pricetags. Check out the galleries by clicking the links below: TFC Toys Structor Gallery TFC Toys Dr Crank Gallery |

Here is an interesting little nugget of news for you now from Takara-Tomy's Hisashi Yuki. On Friday at 9pm Takara-Tomy hosted a Twitter session where fans put on their Generation 1 DVDs and tweeted as they watched, and Hisashi Yuki joined in the conversation! Along the way he hinted at a possible Japan release for the Power Core Combiners line - which until now has been limited purely to recolors of its Mini-Cons for its Japanese release.
We are considering (the domestic release of) Power Core Combiners. I can positively say we will not disappoint you.... Don't take this as a solid confirmation - but it is certainly something to watch. Will the toys be recolored for their Japanese releases? Will we see some fan-pleasing recolor versions, for example Heavy Tread (pictured at left) as Decepticon Brawl or Undertow as Generation 2 Autobot Manta Ray? Speculate away by hitting the discuss button, and watch this space for further updates! As always a huge thanks goes out to 2005 Boards staff member SydneyY for his help with translating this and bringing it to our attention. |

It also comes with a pack of molded resin spaceships, including Galvatron's command ship from the Animated Movie and a pair of the Sweeps. TFC Toys has updated their Facebook with new images of their Rage of Hercules set. The set adds more parts to their Hercules combiner set including a new head with optional "rage" face, shoulder and forearm add-ons for a closer to Generation 1 look on the arms, plus a new different gun. Revealed in these images is that most of these combiner parts look like they can also double up as other parts, such as cabs or other vehicle bits - like Hercules itself, it seems his add-on will be a bit more than merely some spare parts used when combining.

These final product images mean the set is nearly ready for release and on Facebook our sponsors TFSource have confirmed it will be in stock with them soon.

The figure is a recolor based on the Headmaster partner to Nightbeat, whose mold was also used to make Minerva originally. In the vein of the US-themed set, there is also an additional Hi-Q head included for use with the upcoming CM's Ginrai to give him his US look - it's a really cool little add on, and very appropriate given we're about to return to the Marvel Generation 1 comic universe this July, where Hi-Q was a major character! The comic also includes an English translation of the character's bio.
Not enough Black Rodimus Convoy for you? There's a full bio over at E-Hobby Magazine, again brought to you in English by Hydra! Somewhere, an NDA deadline must have passed, because the gaming websites are all buzzing with new video preview content for the upcoming Transformers Fall of Cybertron. Up first is IGN with their video preview of the new game, which shows some great new footage and also talks about some of the design decisions. There's also a nice little writeup which talks about gameplay refinements and character specific powers - plus some talk about the refined multiplayer including a promising sounding update to the custom character creation!

The great thing about video games is they sometimes have bonus rounds - so by way of a Fall of Cybertron video game bonus round, here's a new look at the toys of the Combaticons! These new images show the decos of the five Combaticons - Onslaught, Decepticon Brawl, Vortex, Swindle and Blast Off - as they were exhibited at Toy Fair 2012. The most notable thing about them is the purple deco on Blast Off, but there are some other tweaks in these pictures too. Fan favorite comic author, Simon Furman had updated his blog with an entry regarding Beast Wars comics. In this blog entry Simon discusses his involvement with Dreamwave's canceled Beast Wars comic and how he had plans to bring the main Beast Wars cast from the show back to Earth and how he had to tie into James McDonough's Summer Special story.
Simon ends this blog entry with this wonderful nugget of info: having brought the scripts for (the unpublished) Age of Wrath #4 & 5 to light in the form of printed original scripts (for sale at conventions and elsewhere), I decided to unleash Beast Wars #1 (Dreamwave) this year. You’ll get to see quite how different things would have been, and how centric the core TV show cast would have been in the unfolding story. You’ll also get to see what I later salvaged for The Gathering, and how the Summer Special story got folded in. I’ll be toting the scripts around the country this year (see elsewhere and other blog entries for details), so come along and grab a piece of unpublished Transformers comics history. |

After todays earlier reveal from 3rd party group Igear, the group updated their Facebook page with the following update:
About the MW-03 Hench and MW-04 UFO, we plan to make them about 12CM≈4.7 inches, slightly higher than the other two released MiniWarriors, and the height of the rest Miniwarriors unreleased will be different too, depend on their scales in the G1 cartoon, will between 8CM to 12CM(3.1 to 4.7inches). We also welcome the proposal of the height of them, thanks. It seems Igear has been listening to the fans. How do you feel about this? Happy to have your Minibots scout sized? The first two Mini-warriors have already been released, will these be rereleased in the new bigger size? Sound off in our 3rd Party forum! Igear is listening. |
