Transformers Prime and Rescue Bots Executive Producer Jeff Kline and voice actor supreme Steve Blum (Starscream, Heatwave) recently took part in a chat session with fans. This great and insightful chat session shed some light on a few cool elements of the series, including the answer to the question - are Transformers Prime and Transformers Rescue Bots in the same continuity?

We can proudly reveal, direct from Executive Producer Jeff Kline himself, yes, these two great shows are indeed in the same continuity! The creative team felt it was important that both shows share the same continuity - so when you see Optimus Prime in Rescue Bots, it means he has briefly taken a leave of absence from Jasper, Nevada.

Other questions covered include:

Guest stars
Jeff Kline says the team is pursuing their top choices for guest actors, to have them come in and do a spot where there is space in their schedules. There are a few guest voices coming up in Prime, and a couple in Rescue Bots too.
Jeff and Steve went on to say that their list of top choices for guest actors stems from people they want to work with, who they feel would be good with the group (Steve Blum commented that he's already got two of the people he really wanted to work with right there, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker)

How do you top the season 1 finale?
Jeff Kline - it is a big challenge going forward, though they feel they can and will top it with season 2. Jeff promises they will deliver on some expectations, while delivering some surprises on others. No specific clues though, the whole conversation was very spoiler free.

Will there be a Transformers Prime movie?
Jeff Kline - It is a real possibility, but it depends on a lot of things going right.
They did a showing of the season 1 finale at a local theatre and people were very impressed with how the series looked on the big screen. "And that was season 1" - sounds like there is even more jaw-dropping CGI in store for season 2!

We would like to thank Jeff Kline and Steve Blum for taking the time out to share this Q&A session with us.

Transformers Rescue Bots and Transformers Prime return to The Hub on Saturday 18 February - that's less than two weeks from now! Are you excited?

Transformers Galaxy has updated their Facebook with images of the upcoming Dr Wu "Iron Will" 3rd Party upgrade for City Commander from Fansproject. This set features two face plates, one with yellow eyes and one with blue eyes. Both faces look a bit longer than the original City Commanders and come packaged in a nice little tin. Almost like Altoids. Or a RID Spychanger.

We received a word that the second book of the Transformers: Classified series is arriving later this year. Book 2 is named Battle Mountain and is written and illustrated (covers) by the same writers; Ryder Windham And Jason Fry. Transformers Classified Book 2: Battle Mountain is set to release on October 9, 2012 which is nearly a year after the release of the first book; Switching Gears.

The series is aimed at “young adult” readers and is set in the Live Action Movie Continuity. As the name suggests, the book series follow untold stories of the Autobots living on earth.

Despite set in the movie continuity, the Transformers: Classified series doesn’t get the mainstream attention unlike the Exodus series. We at TFW2005 are proud to make the first announcement for both books, to the Transformers Fans. We hope to see more from the Classified series and wish the people behind the book series, all the success.

TRANSFORMERS fans,

As we greatly value our TRANSFORMERS fans and consumers, we appreciate the opportunity to clarify and explain the current situation with TRANSFORMERS PRIME First Edition figure availability in the U.S.

We very much apologize for the miscommunication with our great retailers in the U.S. Regrettably, as a result, the TRANSFORMERS PRIME First Edition Wave 2 Deluxe, Wave 1 Voyager and Entertainment Pack figures were posted for pre-sale in error. Final product was not produced for these figures to ship within the U.S. As such, any consumer who placed a pre-sale order with Big Bad Toy Store or Entertainment Earth in the U.S. received a note that their order had been cancelled and these orders will not be fulfilled. While it is common for Hasbro to cancel production and/or shipment of collectible figures prior to being listed for pre-sale, this particular situation was unique. We deeply regret this circumstance and understand your frustration.

We would also like to express that we hear the fan community in the U.S. loud and clear – you want these specific TRANSFORMERS PRIME First Edition figures. While we can’t confirm anything at this time, and the format in which these figures are packaged and distributed may change, the team is looking into ways to make these available at a later date in the U.S. and will keep the fan community and our retailers posted as opportunities develop. We want to make this right, and making these figures available to the U.S. fans is a top priority for the team. We greatly appreciate your understanding and ongoing enthusiasm for the brand and hope in the mean time, you enjoy the TRANSFORMERS PRIME figures that are hitting shelves now and in the coming weeks.

Regards,

The TRANSFORMERS Team

Earlier today Transformers Galaxy - Hong Kong Fans Group on Facebook revealed a new upgrade kit from 3rd Party Group, Dr. Wu. This time around, the good Doctor has made a new face for TFC Toys' Hercules custom figure. This alternate face depicts Hercules "Roaring" in a similar manner to Guido Guidi's depiction of Devastator in All Hail Megatron #11. Is the face looking familiar to you? It should if you've been following the Hercules Mega Thread as 2005 Board member G.I.Eddie created a custom piece that's very similar. Dr. Wu has even sited G.I.Eddie's work as their influence.

Board member D-Drive has once again provided us with the weekly Diamond Comics shipping list. Up for bat this week is:

INFESTATION 2 TRANSFORMERS #2 Of(2)

Chuck Dixon (w) o Guido Guidi (a & c)

The Infestation threatens all of America, and its evil seems unstoppable as it infects everything in its path. Tobias Muldoon is called upon to help the Autobots find a solution, and he knows the perfect man for the job-Nikola Tesla! Together they attempt to re-activate Optimus Prime, but it's unclear if he will be able to turn the tide in an increasingly hopeless situation!

TRANSFORMERS MORE THAN MEETS EYE ONGOING #2

James Roberts (w) o Alex Milne (a) o Alex Milne, Roche (c)

The new TRANSFORMERS direction blasts off! Trapped in space, their ship critically damaged, the Autobots try to rally what's left of their forces. And to complicate matters, Skids arrives on the scene, guns blazing! Who is he? What does he want? Where does he come from? Unfortunately, not even Skids knows the answers...

Ships with 2 covers in a 1-to-1 ratio, 1 by Alex Milne and 1 cover by Nick Roche

TRANSFORMERS TP VOL 06 CHAOS POLICE ACTION

Mike Costa (w) o Brendan Cahill & E.J. Su (a) o Brendan Cahill (c)

While there is much "CHAOS" on Cybertron, there's no less bedlam here on Earth as our remaining Autobots investigate the accusation that Spike, their trusted human ally, murdered a TRANSFORMER. Prowl and Jazz take center stage as the alliance between the two races are on the brink. Also includes the Prowl Spotlight.

Also of note is the first two issues of both More Than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise have sold out and gone to second printings.

Fans who purchased the Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D Home Release mentioned of a Color and Brightness issues with the Bluray.

Director Michael Bay stopped-by his website to tell that the issue lies with the equipment we use at home to watch the movie and not with the release. He also briefly explained how the Home Release 3D was done, to shed some light on the matter. He was humble enough to come and personally help-out the Fans. Kudos Mr. Bay

"The reason some 3D TV color on some systems might not look perfect? Well because there is no standards in 3D. It sounds stupid doesn't it. When we color transfer we spend weeks on a single format. Six weeks on the feature, then weeks additional on DVD, then weeks more on 3D. Every single shot might have brightness windows color moves high light adds. My colors on almost every one of my films have had almost perfect color space scores. I'm the guy who did the first - film to digital - digital transfer release on a movie - Bad Boys 2. I know color and telecine equipment better then almost any director out there. But when I started doing my 3D transfer with the most talented color telecine expert in the world, my buddy Stephan. He told me 3D is fucked. There is no standard to the equipment it is the wild west right now. So if it looks bad it's your product. We aimed color space for the most the equipment that has the biggest market share. In our room it looked perfect. So I'm sorry but it's your equipment. Tell the business to standardize and it will all look perfect in the future. Sorry.

Michael"

Craveonline has posted an interview with James Roberts, IDW Publishing's wrtier for one of their new ongoing Transformer titles; More Than Meets The Eye. In this very in depth interview Roberts refers to TF:MTMTE as "an unholy hybrid of Dark Star, Justice League International, Doctor Who and Arrested Development. Heck, you can throw in Magnolia and X-Files in there too. And Community, for that matter. Essentially, MTMTE is what happens when a superhero team book collides with a space opera sitcom"
Roberts also goes drops some interesting nuggets of info such as a Dinobot origin story he submitted to IDW, before he began working for the publisher, that almost happened (and maybe one day will!") and after speaking with fellow writer Simon Furman on the upcoming Regeneration One. In which he says Simon hints at a few plans that are up his sleeves that were so good in Roberts' eyes that is blew his mind and made him want to burst into tears, rip up the scripts for the first few issues of MTMTE, roll up his sleeves and think, 'Okay, Furman. Round 2.'

There is loads more information from James Roberts in the interview that any current fan of IDW Transformers or their Last Stand Of The Wreckers series should definitely take a few minutes to thoroughly read the whole thing. You can do so by clicking the link above or the title bar.

Head over to our new Transformers Comics Forum and discuss this and all things Transformers Comics!

Over the last week or so, a number of Transformers collectors have noticed unauthorized charges on their credit cards and have received phone calls from their various financial institutions alerting them to possible fraudulent charges on their accounts. A good number of collectors have been hit with these fraudulent charges, including members of TFW2005.COM's own staff.

Fun Publications, the parent company behind the annual BotCon and JoeCon conventions, have released a statement regarding these charges and the possible, if any, link between the credit card fraud and their online ordering system. We have copied their statement, but you can also download the .PDF file yourself by clicking here.

Quote:
We have been receiving feedback that there has been a higher than
usual number of fraud complaints posted on online Transformers
forums.

While we have nothing to suggest that there was an issue with the TCC
and Fun Publications, we look into every concern that is sent to us. All
of your transactions are in a secure socket with the strongest encryption
available to any site on the web. If you have a specific concern about
any transaction with us, please use the “contact us” link located at the
bottom of the TCC page and provide us with as much information as
possible including:

1. The EXACT name of merchant as it is written on your statement.
2. Amount and date of suspect charge.
3. Bank your card is drawn on and if it is a debit or credit card.
4. Device and browser (and version) you used for your last payment
with us before you saw a fraudulent charge (ie, android phone,
computer, iphone, browser and version).
6. Were you on a public computer?
7. Were you on a public wi‐fi network?
8. If you were at home or work, what Internet provider did you use?
9. On your last transaction with us, did you receive any kind of error
message (card declined, 404 error, programming type error)? If you did
receive an error, how many times did you resubmit your information?

It is very difficult to track credit card fraud. With your help, we can see
if there are any parallels between those reporting an issue.

In order to better protect yourself, here are some guidelines:

Never log into a secure site from a public computer, public wi‐fi, or
through android/windows phones. Only use your mobile device on a
mobile app for transactions, never a browser. Turn off your bluetooth
and wi‐fi to prevent people from hacking your credit card information
from your phone/computer.

If you have a card that has an rfid chip, make sure your card is shielded
when not in use.

Always make sure you are using a secure socket (https://) for any login
that requires a password or a monetary transaction.

Never email your credit card information to anyone.

As should be common practice, on a regular basis, be sure to check your
statements and make note of any suspicious activity on your card. If you
see an unauthorized charge, turn it in to your bank or card company, the
charge will be reversed, they will issue a new card for you and the
security system in place will have done its job.

Please also take the time to read the attached article and research credit
card security. We are very aware that security concerns have risen
exponentially in the last couple years and we are doing our part to stay
ahead of the curve.

"Can Hackers Destroy the Internet?" - Forbes.com
It is always important that you monitor your card's activity, regardless if you purchase online or not. A special thank you goes out to all the various collectors who have banded together to bring this issue to light, and in many instances, have helped collectors stop their card from being compromised. We at TFW2005.COM urge everyone, regardless of when or where they shopped recently, to monitor their cards for suspicious activity. You can join in the on-going discussion here.

As announced a month or so back, the next batch of toys for McDonald's Happy Meals are based on Transformers Prime (and also some show about ponies) and the McDonalds website has updated with pictures of the upcoming toys. It is unknown at this time if the toys have robot modes are not, but many are guessing they are in the style of RPMs/Speed Star toys of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Starscream, Knock-Out and Breakdown.

With Toy Fair 2012 due to kick off tomorrow and show us what is in store for us in these coming months, now seemed like a good time to look back at some of the toys we were admiring this time last year. And what better way to do that than with a new gallery update? Here for your enjoyment are a veritable assortment of Transformers Movie toy galleries by 2005 boards photo staff member SydneyY:

Transformers Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Blackout with Scorponok
Transformers Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Crankcase
Transformers Dark of the Moon MechTech Deluxe Crankcase

Not enough? How about a Toys R Us Japan freebie that was given away for spending more than 3,000 yen on Dark of the Moon toys? We've got a gallery of this exclusive item right here too:

Toys R Us Japan Exclusive Transformers Darkside of the Moon EZ-Collection Darkside Optimus Prime

And because we've got one Leader Class Bumblebee in the news today, here's a second one, submitted to us by 2005 Boards member RussianFan. It's Battle Ops Bumblebee! The larger than Leader DX toy with all the lights and sounds, plus flip up shoulder cannons just like the newly revealed Weaponizer for Transformers Prime! I can't wait to see a group shot of the two of them posed together!

Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Battle Ops Bumblebee

Stay tuned - we're not done with the Transformers Movie series just yet. In fact, we've got another three waiting in the wings... Stay tuned, stay safe, and enjoy!
