The issue formerly known as Transformers 125 will feature two covers, one by Nick Roche that looks suitably epic, and one by Livio Ramondelli which is an excellent homage to the legendary Marvel Transformers #1 by Bill Sienkewicz.

The article finishes with a tiny bit on the two new series that will be launching next year, Transformers More than Meets the Eye and Transformers Robots in Disguise, although IDW were tight-lipped about what is going into each series, except that John Barber and James Roberts are working closely with each other, and that the events of 125 would have far reaching consequences for members of all three factions across both books. Yes, three factions - an image shown at the presentation teases at the introduction of a neutral, civilian population of Transformers aligned with neither side coming into the mix.

This set consists of a reissue Generation 1 Optimus Prime, a premium paintjob version of Deluxe Movie Optimus Prime, and a new trailer. These images show how the trailer opens up, and they also show a rather cool little leaflet that comes with the set, chronicling all the different Autobot / Cybertron leaders, from Optimus Prime / Convoy all the way down to the current Optimus Primes. It's a Japanese centric leadership timeline though, so a couple of the US-only leader toys are omitted (and Beast Machines Optimus Primal is later in the timeline, due to the toys coming much later in Japan).

Electromagnetic Soundwave was a white recolor of the original Activators Soundwave, previously revealed when his instructions surfaced on Hasbro's website. His deco appeared in the two part "Human Error" storyline.

Like many later Transformers Animated releases, Electromagnetic Soundwave never made it past a handful of test shots. To be honest I never expected to see what the final product was meant to be like - so getting to see this, even if we can never own it, is a nice surprise.

This time the spotlight falls upon Dark of the Moon Sideswipe, an excellent and fun little toy. Sideswipe first appeared in Revenge of the Fallen for the conclusion of the pulse-pounding Shanghai action sequence, and his main part in Dark of the Moon is to fight against the Dreads with Ironhide in the standout set piece "Mexican Standoff" scene. His toy reflects the new look his vehicle mode gets for Dark of the Moon with the open convertible roof, which has a pleasing side effect of minimising the car parts backpack on the actual toy. Great poseability round out this figure, and really the only fault is he lacks the gorgeous silver finish of the Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe.
