When does the new season start?

Anyone know?

RoftheHood 01-13-2012 10:04 AM

No offical word yet - rumors are saying Feb-March-ish.

Just a quick question, so are those first 13 episodes considered season 1? Was that what the creators said? If it is when is season 1 coming to DVD? I know the first DVD was season 1 book 1 but it only contained the first 8 episodes right?

Doubtful seeing how it hasn't even been announced yet. You might've seen the DVD for the OS.

The way the seasons work (as I understand it) is Warner Bros considers 26 episodes as season 1, but Cartoon Network considers it 13. And as far as I am aware WB are the ones doing the DVDs.

In short, the answer is not soon enough. For either the second season airing or the DVDs coming out.

Please do not come to this forum and spread misinformation. Warner Home video has not released any such thing or even announced that they will be releasing it.

Yup, holding out for Bluray. If Thundercats is aired in HD, then it should be watched and sold in HD. Not sure why everything is becoming hush hush with the toons status, but at least its not turning into a he-man 200x problem!

What was the he-man 2000 problem?

it was two fold (as I understand it. If I'm wrong I'm sorry)

1) Cartoon Network kept switching when it aired around. Seem like they had issues with any show they themselves don't make. dunno if that's still true

2) Mattel needs to share some of the blame. They made every figure other than He-man and Skeletor impossible to find. For every case of six there were four He-man or Skeltors and one each of the other two figures. Not only did this clog shelves with too many He-man and Skeletor variants (**** you Smash Blade) but it made the other character impossible to find for kids and collectors.

Darkliger ohh ok thanks for the heads up on that intresting to hear j hope that will not happen to the new thundercat show

Oh you can bet it is true. Symbionic Titan was their recent series to be canned after 13 episodes. Add on top of that Samurai Jack and Transformers Animated. And instead of showing reruns of these shows they would rather show the same episodes of Johnny Test 5 times a day.

Transformers: Animated had 3 seasons and Samurai Jack had 4.

I can't speak for Symbionic Titan as I never watched it. Couldn't stand the art style. But it was canned after 20 episodes, not 13.

But yeah, I'm tired of seeing Johny Test too. And Scooby Doo for that matter.

RichardC 02-01-2012 02:24 PM

I HATE scooby damn doo

Ravenxl7 02-03-2012 02:49 PM

I've been doing some thinking about this, and I think I have a somewhat decent guestimation as to when season two could be starting. Generator Rex's third season has been airing in the time-slot that Thundercats was airing in. Assuming it continues to do so for the rest of it's apparently twenty episode long third season, or that Thundercats isn't given a different time-slot for it's continuation, I think the next season of Thundercats could start airing as soon as April 6th.

Though honestly, I hope I'm wrong, and that Thundercats will start up again sooner than that.

KurtulanSama 02-03-2012 08:57 PM

We hope you're wrong too. I don't know the CN schedule but iff any cartoon would end its season in 4-6 weeks TC would probably be aired in its time slot.

While TFA had 3 seasons and SJack had 4, they were both canned prematurely. Neither series was ready to be finished just yet. If I recall, Gennedy had one more season of Jack planned out, which would end with the final duel between Jack and Aku. As for TFA, there was a lot planned for the fourth season, but at least they were given enough notice that 3 would be the final one so they were able to give it an ending (although rushed), and then of course the 2002 He-Man series.

Symbionic Titan was 20? Still, I only watched a few episodes of it and loved it but I just had this feeling CN was going to can it. Other shows they have canned for no reason was Megas XLR, Legion of Super Heroes (wel sort of, this is partly because CN did not want the show after WB sold out to 4Kids),

Was the episode where [Spoilers] Panthro lost his arms[/Spoilers] the end of season 1 or have I missed any?

Yeah, that was episode 13, aka season one's finally.

DecepticonSpike 02-07-2012 08:31 PM

Cool. Glad I have not missed any.

nitewing73 03-02-2012 05:34 PM

On Comics Continuum new episodes are on March 24th and 31st. I posted a new thread in the cartoons forum.

moreprimeland 03-08-2012 10:56 PM

Yep, they return on March 24th, Saturday mornings, 9:30 a.m. EST, a new time and day.

DecepticonSpike 03-09-2012 08:12 AM

I have to wonder if the tone of the new season is going to be lighter since it's been moved to Saturday mornings.
