In the original cartoon, Lion-O's sleep chamber was damaged, which caused him to age, while the others did not.

Jaga said that some ageing does take place in the suspension capsules. I always assumed that lion-o aged for that reason but still wondered why wiley Cat and Wiley Kit didn't. Did Jaga just say that so the other Thundercats would agree to let him pilot the ship?

And one of the theories is also that Kit and Kat are fully grown. Due to the type of cats they are. Just a small breed.

When each person gets into their pods,they'll show a crack in Lion-O's as the lid is closing. And wiley Kat/Kit are only a few years older than young Lion-O.
