Vintage Thundercats Collector's Union!
Hello collectors.
This thread is an attempt to gather collectors of the Vintage Thundercats toys, LJN and beyond, into one place. I had a few items back in the day, but they were stolen and now it's time to regain them. Let's see if we can't get some buying/selling/trading going on here. |
I'm not confident that I've ever had any of the vintage toys, but I've still got half of my parent's attic to search, so I might still find something. I want to say that I had Panthro and Slithe at one point, but my memory is quite fuzzy. I'm also planning on routinely searching Good Will's and similar resale shops in the area to see if any pop-up there.

I collect the classic thundercats. Have a large collection going, still have a bunch to go though.

I have only been collecting vintage Thundrcats for 3 months. Here are some pics of my small collection so far.... Please note the 2 variants of Jaga, Bengali and Tygra...plus I am the proud owner of complete Pumyra, Lynx-o and Astral Moat Monster....not easy to come by but eventually made some good seller contacts via Ebay.

Very nice collection! I am a huge thundercats fan, but sadly do not have very many vintage, only tygra (young and old) and panthro, if anyone could help me out that would be amazing! I just don't want to fork out a ton of money to ebay right now...

Ebay is now cheaper than ever with regards to vintage figures. The collectors are concentrating on the 2011 line. For example I recently purchased a complete Bengali for £ 36. They usually go for up to 3 times that amount.
Some good buying techniques are also needed. Here are my tips. Look for auctions that end just before end of the month. Most collectors usually buy their wants when they get their salaries. When bidding hold out until the last 2 mins and then bid your highest amount then. Patience is a virtue. If you have a android mobile or iphone download the ebay app. Its great to keep an eye on your want. Plus it reminds you when your want time is out. The collection you see I have amassed in 3 months has costs me less than £250. Ebays buyer protection must also be noted. My advice is buy the rare figures now and then concentrate on the other figures. |
Check out my saved from the attic thread I got some old stuff.
