Duelist and Drifter preview
ThundercatsNOW finally has photos up and said that the clips will be on youtube soon.
Staff Edit: Thundercats Episode 8 Preview Video and Images http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5L0uEUzMNg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKouHIxIqsw |
The images are definitely interesting. Looks like the jackal with the large sword from that design sheet isn't the duelist after-all, and by the looks of it, I would guess that the rabbit is the drifter (anybody else getting a Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh vibe?).
I have the feeling that, compared to the past two episodes, this'll feel like filler. I don't think it'll be filler, but by the sounds of the synopsis, it'll feel like a lull in comparison to the previous episodes. Preview one was a nice little teaser, but stayed away from revealing too much. The drifter physically floating in the wind was...just a little odd. Seems like he'll be an interesting character. I want to say I've heard that voice before, but I can't think from where. Preview two was nice too, and also stayed away from revealing too much. Was interesting to see so many different species of beings living in this one settlement. Should be interesting to see how many random references they put into this one episode. With such a variation to the town's population, it's the perfect opportunity to work in some stuff that otherwise wouldn't make it's way into the show. |
First clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5L0uEUzMNg I'm getting a weird Disney/Pixar vibe from that rabbit. lol And second clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKouHIxIqsw |
The Drifter annoys me. He's too overdone with how he's 'drifting in the wind.' >.>
But other than him, this episode looks like another winner. |
Guys - if possible down the road, please hold off on posting links to the official videos and images that get released each week. Unless of course, they are exclusive to a particular site like the MTV geek ones every so often, etc.
Thundercats.ws is on the same distribution lists and will get them up within an hour or so or less most times. So long as it's the same material and reletively the same time frame, we'd prefer to keep it in house. Thanks! |
Ok, now I see the video. Thanks. :)
I love the Drifter's indifference. "Take my advice, and leave. Or don't. I don't care." :D And boy, do we see a lot of new races here. Some humans, or human-like creatures too, so Hachiman and others are not out of the question to appear. |
Fine whatever. I won't post any more news here then.
|
Sorry if it came off as dickish, wasn't the intention. We do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm. Just frustrating a bit on our end when links pop up to other sites for the same content, just because of a time delay.

I see the drifter and his slovenly appearance/demeanor being a nod to Yojimbo (Yojimbo (1961) - IMDb and Usagi Yojimbo.
I swear my cat jumps like Lion-o too in this clip. |
Drifter looks funny. Also Lion-O slicing the stone was pretty funny. Looks to be filler, but looks good regardless.
|
Drifter is funny. Not often you can say that about a character's name being literal.
Loved Lion-O slicing that stone in half. Sure showed those animals what the Sword of Omens can do. |

Finally!!! Looking forward to seeing these!!! :)

The drifter was a bit over done, but still cool nonetheless. I don't see how anyone isn't completely stoked for this re-boot. Shortcomings aside, they've done a KICK ASS job. Really impressed.
|
sorry if I am being ignorant here, but was drifter in the old cartoon?
|
I thought the drifter was awesome.
Voice sounds like Roddy Mcdowell to me. Sadly, he is no longer with us... -Zoid |
