A whole bunch of new, in hand images of Dark of the Moon Sentinel Prime have been posted on ACToys (and a few more here, also on ACToys). These new images show Sentinel in his robot and vehicle mode, in and out of packaging, and give some size comparisons with the Revenge of the Fallen leaders. Also, if I am reading that correctly, he's got SFX and his voice chip says "I am Sentinel Prime". Check out the images by clicking on the link above, or check out our mirror by reading on.

Today, we are revisiting a Generation 1 item we had previously featured. However, it's an item that simply doesn't come around too often. For our Featured Ebay Auction, we have a rare Transformers G1 Optimus Prime Cookie Jar. While the box is a bit dented, the cookie jar itself looks to be in excellent condition.

I'd like to kick off this update of Japanese themed Transformers with a brief PSA. Doubtless you all know about the ongoing crisis situation in Japan following the 8.9 magnitude earthquake, tsunami and explosion at the Fukushima reactor. I urge you all to take a moment to remember all those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods, and to keep in mind those who may still be in danger. If you want to help, please give whatever you can spare to the International Red Cross. Every little helps them to continue their vital work, more so now than ever in Japan's hour of need.

With that in mind, let us take a look at some of our latest gallery additions, brought to us by 2005 Photo staff member SydneyY. This update is all about the Japanese Transformers United releases of the Reveal the Shield and Generations toys. For your enjoyment this day we have pictures of United Lugnut, United Jazz and United Tracks, plus United Cybertronian Megatron and United Cybertronian Soundwave. Do they measure up to their US counterparts? Comparison images are present for some galleries thanks to 2005 Photo staff member Trailbreaker77 to help you make that call!

Check out the galleries by clicking on the links below:

Transformers United Lugnut
Transformers United Jazz
Transformers United Tracks
Transformers United Cybertronian Megatron
Transformers United Cybertronian Soundwave

As an added bonus, we have some other Takara-Tomy releases to share with you. From their Transformers Animated line, we have the one and only Animated Blackout! The big guy was only released in Japan, and you can check out his gallery right here! Also of interest, we have the Family Mart Exclusive EZ Collection Bumblebee. The Family Mart Exclusive EZ Collection toys were only available in a lottery held by Family Mart in Japan last year, they were the fourth prize so are quite rare and it's a real privilege to be able to bring these images to you. For both these slices of Transformers Animated goodness, once again you have SydneyY to thank! Check out the images by clicking below:

Just when you think you’ve seen everything, something like this shows-up. ACToys has posted an image showing a new Deluxe Bumblebee, Ironhide and Ratchet in the middle of… errr… your guess is good as mine.

Anyway, interestingly enough, the toys look as though they are Trans-scanning, Transwarping or Turning Invisible (or something altogether different).

The origin of this image is unknown. Till the authenticity is proven, keep it as a rumor or a custom.

Update: Another new image of a pink Motor Cycle has been found. The original poster says that the bike too is made out of translucent plastic.

If this is indeed a part of the Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline, it'll be interesting to see what's down the line.

ACToys has posted some up-close images of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Laserbeak; minion to Soundwave.

The toy comes with retractable wings and TFW2005 members speculate that from the looks, it is as if the toy has a vehicle form after all.

We’ve seen him thanks to the Superbowl spot and hopefully will have a role similar as Ravage (ROTF).

Few hours ago, we broke the news of an upcoming MMO Video Game by Jagex on behalf of Hasbro.

Online game magazine, Kotaku has contacted Jagex to findout more about this game. What they wanted to know was “What continuity this game is based on?” Jagex public relations has answered… “Transformers: Prime”.

This raises a lot of possibilities. It is clear that Hasbro is mainly focusing on "Transformers: Prime” TV Series after the end of Michael Bay Movie Series. (Dark of the Moon hitting theaters this July 1st).

MMO based on Prime continuity might mean the overall environment will expand… it’ll have mythos and a wide variety of characters of its own (World of Warcraft and Matrix: Online are perfect examples).

This looks like good news to all the Transformers: Prime fans. Even the movie fans will have something to look forward to after the ending of the trilogy.

If you have something to say about this future development, click on the discuss button and share your valuable views.

Ahead of his video review, 2005 Boards member Peaugh has shared with us a couple of in-hand images of the upcoming Transformers Dark of the Moon Leader Class Sentinel Prime! These images include the character's bio, which paints him very much as a King Arthur type of character, risen up to help the Autobots in their hour of need.

SENTINEL PRIME is a legendary warrior, thought lost long ago. The strength of his will and the power of his sword are spoken of in reverent whispers by AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON alike. Now that he has returned, the final defeat of MEGATRON and the DECEPTICONS is assured.

Yahoo Auctions, Japan has posted our first Robot Mode look of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class Nitro Bumblebee.

The mold is similar to the previously seen DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee, but the overall look is different due to the attached boosters and a missing rear spoiler.

The Mechtech gun is different as well. On top of the hood of Bee’s vehicle mode, the weapon looks as though it resembles a Supercharger.

Take a look at the mirrored images, after the jump.

This is a story not many knew. Few weeks back at Michal Bay Forums, user EastwoodClinton posted a news piece from Cambodia (copied below this article). The news said that Transformers: Dark of the Moon is to be filmed in Cambodia. Cambodian Minister of Information told the press that DOTM filming will continue at the Angkor Wat temple complex. No info came after that.

Today, TFW2005 member RebelMan posted some images he found, which are rumored to be from a Transformers 3 filming which happened recently.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment other than the Cambodian news piece.

Just a brief update for you on Shout! Factory's Beast Wars Season 1 DVD set, coming to you via TVShowsonDVD. The set's listing on Amazon.com has been updated with the proposed cover artwork of the set! It's a fairly nice group shot of all the core Maximals, minus our favourite wisecracking rodent Transformer. Given the excellent "evolving" style of the Shout! Generation 1 DVD set covers, could volume 2 keep up this trend with the characters (except Rhinox, granted) in their Transmetal and Transmetal 2 forms?

Here's a bit of an odd-ball one for you to ponder. An image has come to us by way of ACToys, showing what appears to be a previously unseen Optimus Prime toy. At first glance, the simplifications in the design suggest it is a knockoff. But consider; we have seen listings of various upcoming toys that suggest there is not one but two upcoming Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime toys which we currently know nothing about. Could this perhaps be the as yet unseen "Jetwing" Optimus Prime who allegedly is a Leader Class toy with a Jetfire styled flight pack? Or even something else entirely?

As always, we're committed to bringing you more news on this item as it becomes available to us. For now, join in the speculation on our 2005 Boards by clicking the discuss link!

The man behind a good, healthy portion of the Transformers Animated box artworks, as well as this year's BotCon comic artist, Marcelo Matere, dropped by to share a warm-up sketch of Transformers Animated Motormaster, and included a YouTube video of his warm-up from start to finish.

Check out the video below, and jam to the Japanese Transformers Animated theme song in the background. Thanks Marcelo!

The finished sketch is included in this news post.

The ever helpful D-Drive has sent us over the Diamond Comics shipping list for next week! There's only one Transformers comic on the agenda, Transformers Heart of Darkness issue 1. Brought to you by the same team that wrote Transformers Infestation, this continues the saga of the remaining Dead Universe Transformers under the leadership of Galvatron! Check it out at comic stores everywhere on 23 March.

GALVATRON. Last seen, he was leading a team of Decepticons through space. Clearly, he has a purpose, an agenda, and a vendetta. But how it will play out and to what end has been shrouded in mystery. That mystery is about to be revealed...

Board member Red Leader shares with us a pictorial review on the upcoming Generations Warpath:

Kinda sad he is the last for a while but damn is he an awesome one!

His tank mode blatantly looks like the HALO Scarab which is no bad thing, he has the usual tiny wheels built into the solid treads and rolls freely, the turret also pivots nice and smooth with the 2 flip out cannons nicely settled to the rear.

Board member Red Leader shares with us a pictorial review on the upcoming Dark of the Moon Voyager Shockwave:

Win Win Win! this guy is awesome in person, super chunky design that looks like a cross between a Rocklord, G1 Shockwave and D'Compose from the Inhumanoids.

Once again he has a nice smooth simplified transformation ( compared to ROTF figures ) his articulation is great wiht thigh swivel, knee, elbow, shoulder and bicep swivel along with neck rotation, downsides are due to his transformation no waist movement and the wrists do not move just like Battle Blade Bumblebee.

Here we go Transformers Movie (Michael Bay Live Action one that is) Fans! IDW is sharing with us the June 2011 Transformers Solicitations. And yes, as predicted, we are going to see back-to-back Transformers: Dark of the Moon Adaptation releases.

Not much about the movie is revealed from the description and IDW is not sharing the cover pages either. But they’ll turn-up pretty soon.

Going away from the movie buzz… we’ll be getting another Transformers: Prime volume as well as the final issue of Transformers: Heart Of Darkness.

Continue reading to take a look at the official descriptions and the cover pages of IDW June 2011 Transformers Comic Books.

Site sponsor Hobbylink Japan will be donating a portion of their sales for the next 2 weeks, to the Japanese Red Cross. Here's more info:

To all our customers:

I'm sure I don't need to tell our customers about the horrific scope of the devastation, both human and property, that Japan suffered during the March 11 earthquake and tsunami disaster. And as we've explained on our pages, we at HobbyLink Japan were fortunate enough to have barely been scratched by the catastrophe.

At times like this, those who can help must assist those who need help. And that includes HobbyLink Japan. So for the next two weeks (through March 31), we are going to donate a portion of our sales to the Japanese Red Cross.

In order to pitch in and help out, all you need to do is buy something from us. Here's how it works:

* We're raising our prices on every item in our catalog by 2%. That's right, raising prices*.
* This 2% difference will then be donated to the Japanese Red Cross. That's how our customers will help.
* We will then match these funds and donate the same amount as well. That's how HLJ will help.

So, in effect, HLJ will donate 4% of its total sales for the next two weeks. And we're asking our customers to contribute 50% of that amount.

We haven't given our customers any choice about contributing in the way we've structured this fund-raising drive. If you buy from us, you're going to be paying 2% extra over the next two weeks (you'll only pay the prices shown when you place your order; nothing will be added later). We fully understand that may actually drive some customers away. But we also believe that the vast majority of our customers want to help as badly as we do, and we think this is a great, simple way for them to pitch in.

Of course, we also encourage everyone to make direct, personal donations to the relief agencies here, too. But make sure to avoid scams! A couple of sites to consider are:

* Japanese Red Cross

* PayPal donations

Thank you so much for your support and understanding in this time of crisis.

And as always, thank you for all of your business with HLJ!

Scott T. Hards, President

Many remember various third party companies that were in the building stages for a "City Commander" type armor for use on MP-02 Magnus. It seems one did pull through (Dreamtoys), and TFW member payton34 shares with us a pictorial review:

I remember these things being in the planning stages a few years ago, but thought production was halted. Apparently, they were still released but not for a mass market. I was able to snag one (courtesy of Zfeakye) and here are a few pics of it.

The box is nice looking and would make a great display piece for all of you MISB collectors.

From the Fansproject website:

“Japan Earthquake and Tsunami 2011″

Our hearts go out to the people of Japan and the other survivors of the earthquake and tsunami. Right now, there are still many unknowns and the best way to help would be a donation to Red Cross. The Red Cross has extraordinary disaster response capabilities. They have been operating since 1887, and they run multiple hospitals and blood collection services across the country.
In light of the situation, we will be setting up a donation program for people to donate to Red Cross around the world in support of the Japan disaster relief efforts.

Fansproject is making 1500pcs of “Blesser” (inverted color “TFX-05 Sidearm”) for people who donating a minimum of $15.00USD to Red Cross “Japan Earthquake and Tsunami 2011”.

That's great news for Beast Wars fans! The original release date was set as June 14th. So once you're home from this year's BotCon, you can continue to get your nerd on and watch the fan-adored Beast Wars series. Well, the first season of it anyways.
