A new image of the upcoming Hunt for the Decepticons Sidearm Sideswipe recolor has appeared on Ebay. This new image shows off the robot and vehicle mode more clearly than the previous image. The exact nature of this release is unknown, some have suggested it is a Japanese exclusive in limited numbers. On the other hand, it is a nice homage to Generation 2 Go-Bot Sideswipe, but with the classic Autobot emblem, so it may be destined for the US. We'll report with more information on the nature of this piece as it becomes available to us.

It seems we haven't seen the end of mini-con repaints even well into the third movie toyline. Simply showing up on a Dark of the Moon cardback, we bring you Dualor courtesy of Yahoo Auctions Japan. Alrady sold under 4 different decos before, Dualor now sports another mini-cons name and has a paint job reminiscent of our favorite Autobot king.

A new auction listed recently on Ebay shows us a brand new picture of the Human Alliance Basic figure from the Dark of the Moon line, Windmill. This new image shows Windmill in a new, alternate color scheme, which together with the lack of official photography and not being shown at Toy Fair suggests that the ones we have seen previous were unfinished versions of the toy - and that this is the final version.

Click on the link above to check out the images and the auction.

It's that time again! The second class of the Transformers Hall of Fame is to be inducted at Botcon 2011, and this year, four Transformers will be honored! Three of those four have been nominated already by Hasbro's panel of judges, and they are: Soundwave, Ironhide and Ratchet.

The fourth spot, however, as last year, will be decided by a vote of the fans on Hasbro.com. Hasbro has invited us, invited you, the readers and posters of TFW2005, to put forward your nominations for the fourth member of the Hall of Fame. Who do you want to see in the Hall of Fame? Jazz, Prowl, or maybe the JaAm bot himself Hot Shot? Maybe this is Me Grimlock's year? Or perhaps the only logical choice is Shockwave.

It's over to you! Click on the discuss link below and tell us who you want to see in the Hall of Fame 2011. On 31 March we will review your nominations and a poll will go up over the weekend so you can vote on who our five nominees for the vote on Transformers.com will be!

This is your chance to get your favorite Transformer recognized in the Transformers Hall of Fame - so start campaigning for your favorite, and above all, have fun!

We've received the latest update from Reprolabels. This month brings with it some excellent customization sets to give your Generations Wheeljack and Thunderwing that Generation 1 feel - Thunderwing is worth checking out, especially for the cool "inner robot" sticker. There's also a couple of great Generation 2 themed sticker sets, one to upgrade Hunt for the Decepticons Hubcap into Generation 2 Jolt, and one to give Reveal the Shield Jazz his Generation 2 deco. Perfect if you want to add a couple more Autobots to your Botcon figure set from last year - or even if you just like the awesomeness that is Generation 2 Jazz!

Check out all this and more at Reprolabels!

Transformers - War For Cybertron is easily one of the most beloved, and successful, Transformers video games of all time. While the versions on the Microsoft X-Box 360, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 3 featured a variety of characters, the Nintendo DS featured by far the largest assortment of characters.

Showing up today via the Chinese Transformers message board, HK-TF.COM, we are treated to the concept art of the following characters:

- Grimlock
- Swoop
- Bluestreak
- Cyclonus

Looking back, the biggest story of the last week has got to have been Botcon 2011. From the initial opening of pre-registration just under a week ago, to the selling out of first loose sets, then non-attending Iacon packages and finally, Primus packages selling out, it's been one heck of a sell-out week for the official Transformers convention and a testament to the popularity of a Transformers Animated themed set of convention exclusives.

News has hardly been slow in other areas either and if today is anything to go by the week ahead is going to be even better! Two items that made me smile in the last week were the more unusual pieces we got a look at. Sure, you've got your usual assortment of new toy images, but how about a Movie Bumblebee plushie? Or a ride-on with Optimus Prime's face on it?

That's the beauty of Transformers merchandising now. There's a lot more to it than toys and every once in a while something entertaining and cool comes along.

This last week in the news we had:

For a 3D movie, 3D Surround Sound is equally important. With the Introduction of Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound, the 3D experience is boosted.

We have received information that Transformers: Dark of the Moon is being benefited with the latest sound technology from Dolby Laboratories. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released in Dolby 5.1 which was the technology back then. But on Showest 2010, Dolby Laboratories explained how their Dolby Surround 7.1 can help the visuals of “3D” movies.

Hollywood Reporter says "Paramount’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon are among the upcoming movies that will use Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound, which will be highlighted this week at CinemaCon." (Sneak peek? Hmmm...)

Dolby Surround 7.1 brings a more exciting sensory experience to audiences for 2D and gives content creators control over audio placement in a theatre when mixing 3D movies. The ability to compose audio with visual elements of 3D allows content creators to immerse the audience deeper into the movie with dramatic realism.

Selected theaters may play Transformers 3 with the latest sound technology. You can locate your nearest theater with Dolby Surround by visiting Dolby.com

Tech Savvy TFW2005 members can read on to learn more about the 7.1 Surround technology.

Got some interesting tidbits from the latest issue (#38) of Transformers Collectors’ Club Magazine thanks to 2005 Boards member Beastbot X.

It was not too long ago we discussed about Ker-O and Kreons. On this issue, Hasbro explains the origin of their latest Trademark “Kre-O”. Latin word “Creo”; meaning “I Create” is the base for this new name. Not only that, during this year we will see 29 Transformers Kreon figures and 12 Kre-O sets. There is a reminder that Kre-O is not always about Transformers. (Who’s guessing it is G. I. Joe? You know it’s going to happen… You know it’s coming!)

There is also a Michael Bay interview by Pete (we all know him as Pete@BotCon here at TFW2005). Transformers: Dark of the Moon is only 94 days away and Mr. Bay is telling us that there is less humor in DOTM than Transformers 2007. Also he tells us to look for lots of Easter Eggs (No, not in the coming month... In the movie). Speaking of which, “” is releasing soon.

Got lots of other stuff as well… Take a look at what Beastbot X is telling us about the magazine, over on the thread.

Hey Transformers fans!

This is a friendly reminder that TFW2005's nomination period for the upcoming Transformers Hall of Fame Poll ends TOMORROW, MARCH 31st! This is your last chance to nominate your favorite character (who isn't Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Dinobot, Ironhide, Ratchet, or Soundwave, cuz they're already in) before we open up the official poll, where those results will be sent to Hasbro!

The eventual winner of all the polling (on fansites, then Transformers.com) will be announced at BotCon 2011 in Pasadena, California. They will then be enshrined forever in to an official Hall of Fame! How awesome is that?

Have you checked out the forums yet? There's tons of campaigns for characters! This is easily one of the most explosive Hall of Fame nominations ever! How are fans describing it?

Exciting! Refreshing! Enjoyable! Cutting-edge! Tremendous! Oh-so-cool! Riveting!

What are you waiting for?

Nominate your FAVORITE Transformers character RIGHT NOW!!!!

News credit to Batman for the amazing story-picture!

A seller from Australia has put up an eBay auction for a Toys "R" Us exclusive Transformers: Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Legion 4-Pack.

The set contains 2 Bumblebees and 2 Starscream repaints.

While one Bumblebee looks like an ordinary version the other Bumblebee is clearly a “Trans-scanning” (according to the “Trans-scanning” term found on the leaked toy list) version.

As for the Starscream toys, one figure is none other than the Transformers: War For Cybertron Cyber Starscream (Redeco of Cybertron Legends Starscream) distributed exclusively for UK Shopto.net customers.

Transformers Comic Book Storyteller Simon Furman surprised everyone while he was being interviewed recently.

"The GI Joe fans are thrilled that Hama has continued the original ARAH continuity and that has sparked some of us here to ask Andy if the same could be done for TF’s. Have you given any thought to continuing the original TF continuity from the Marvel run? And an even better question is, are you even interested in going down that road?

Simon: I actually would like to pick up the baton from Marvel issue #80 and run with it again. There was a lot we never got to do, that I’d like to revisit or just to take the next big steps with all that we’d set up in the previous 20 or so issues. I’d certainly rather do G1 #81 than G2 #13, as, strangely, and for no good reason I can formulate into words, I think the time has passed for G2. It was very, well… 90s.
"

Dudes over at the IDW Forums are gathering to show their support to bring Mr. Furman back. And with it the return of Marvel G1 Transformers Universe which ended with Issue #80; “End of the Road!” back in May 1991.

Show your support by commenting here at TFW2005 and at IDW Forums.

No Transformers/Cybertronians yet… Sorry folks.

We have 3 stills from the upcoming 3rd live action movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Here we see…
  • Sam running with stuff blowing-up behind him.
  • Lennox and his team running with stuff blowing-up behind them.
  • And finally… Sam and Carly (No, not running with stuff blowing-up behind them) near a bus with lettering on the side, showing “Bay City”.
Take a look at the Images after the jump.

Ask Dr. Sheldon Cooper and he’d tell us all about Leonard Nimoy. Many of you know him as the heart and soul of Spock in the original Star Trek series (1966–1969). “What’s up?” you’d say. And I’d say… "He’s the voice of Sentinel Prime of Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Entertainment Weekly
is delivering and TFW2005 is breaking the news to the Transformers fans all around the world.

“Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, has joined the film as the voice of Sentinel Prime, the predecessor of Optimus Prime whose wrecked body is seen in the teaser trailer, found crash-landed on the moon by the Apollo 11 astronauts in 1969. Later, after being brought to earth, he takes the disguise form of a fire engine in the movie’s massive, climactic battle through Chicago.”

According to Mr. Michael Bay“I was too scared to ask him,” the director says. “Plus, he’s married to Susan Bay, who’s a cousin of mine. So I had to be careful. I’ve met him at family functions. But he told me, ‘I would be honored. I’m glad to be back!’” (Back? Yes, "Back". Leonard Nimoy was the voice of Galvatron back in 1986)

There you have it folks! Hopefully, this is not an April Fools Day Joke!

Live Long And Prosper!

April Fools! Earlier today we posted a thread asking for you to vote on your picks for our submission to the Hall of Fame, containing such notoriously questionably named characters as the legendary Erector, Windbreaker and Drillnuts. Naturally as many of you deduced this had nothing to do with the Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame...

... because you were actually voting in this year's "TFW April Fools Day Hall of Fame"! With a 18,016 vote lead (in a thread with only 3,536 views) the natural winner who rose up higher than all the other silly named Transformers was Erector!

Erector's campaign manager, Locustreign, had this to say about the little Micromaster's win: "vote rigging? What's that?"

Hope you all had a fun time! Stay tuned for the real Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame poll in just a few short hours!

Earlier this week we asked you to nominate your personal favorite characters for the Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame 2011 Fan's Choice Character. And boy, did you ever nominate a huge amount of characters. From the well known to the obscure to the fandom's inside joke characters, your nominations poured in, and we counted them to offer up to you now the top eight of the vote! These eight represent a wide spread of all things Transformers, and they are:

Grimlock
Erector
Shockwave
Jazz
Rodimus
Waspinator
Rattrap
Arcee

Is this for real? Is it a KO? Is this an April Fools Day Joke? Questions are asked… Answer remains.

An auction posted at Yahoo Auctions, Japan is revealing what looks like a Deluxe Class version of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime.

The toy looks authentic and looks really neat for a Deluxe sized version of the Autobot Leader.

Congratulations Rosie Huntington-Whiteley! She is this year’s Cinemacon (previously known as Showest) “Female Star of Tomorrow”.
Rosie then talked with Access Hollywood and MTV, who caught-up with her after the Convention.

"I've seen the last two movies, so I kind of knew what I was getting into, but obviously not at all as well," Whiteley said of being a bit overwhelmed by the big movie experience. "It was a crazy opportunity that was handed to me, and I spent seven months making the movie with a great cast and a great director, and it's been a roller coaster of a lifetime for sure," she said. "I'm still on it, I don't know if I'm going to get off anytime soon."

She also had fun explaining her audition and a kissing scene in the movie with Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky).

Rosie, who is playing Carly of Transformers 3 then praised Director Michal Bay for the commitment he’s been doing for the Transformers franchise throughout the past 6 years.

Take a look at both interviews, after the jump.

MSN's Transformers Prime episode listing has updated with the titles of the next two Transformers Prime episodes. They are, "Out of his Head" and "Shadowzone".

Cryptic, no? Given the description of episode 13 offered, Out of his Head might well be a continuation of Sick Mind. Speaking of Sick Mind, a more detailed synopsis is now available on TVGuide - A Decepticon plague infects Optimus Prime, so Arcee and Bumblebee sneak onto the Nemesis to find the cure.

Whatever these two latest cryptic titles refer to, the story of Transformers Prime is beginning to gain pace as the halfway mark of the first season is passed. As always, we will update you when new information becomes available.

Just a little heads-up. Nickelodeon's 24th Annual Kids' Choice Awards is happening tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

What’s so special about this year’s ceremony is that it is sponsored by Hasbro’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon Toyline marketing team.
As a result we will be hearing the 1st prize winner of “16 Weeks of Cyber Sweeps” who’ll be winning a family trip for four to the star-studded U.S. premiere of the movie.

The winner of the TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON U.S. movie premiere tickets will be announced in a commercial that will air on Saturday, April 2 during Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards, of which Hasbro is a presenting sponsor.” says Hasbro.

Nelson, meanwhile at the Michael Bay Official Website states that there will be no new DOTM trailer at the KCA 2011.

However Nelson says that the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Poster will arrive in May.

Stay tuned with TFW2005 for latest Transformers 3 news from Nick Kids’ Choice Awards 2011.
