ThunderCats petition.
Marisha Ray (Matt Mercer's gf) has started a petition to save the show.
Here's the link. Petition: Warner Bros. Animation: Keep the new Thundercats on for another season! | Change.org |
Thanks for the link Balgus.

Signed it
|
I normally don't sign petitions, as they traditionally have no affect on things, but in this situation I'm definitely signing.

Done deal, signed.
There is absolutely no harm in signing this, it takes 10 seconds to fill out that *might* make a difference on the fate of the show. EDIT: Seriously, I don't want to live in a world where ThunderCats can't get a second season and ANNOYING ORANGE GETS TO EXIST. |
Signed.
|
I've signed it too. Even getting my fellow MOTU fans to help out as we like the show too!

we need to save decent television |
signed..
|
The petition already broke 500 sigs, that's kinda promising.
|
Gave it a shot, we'll see what comes of it...
|
Just signed it.
|
Done!
|
Geezus, suddenly we're over 800 sigs overnight!
Yesterday we were only around 600 sigs, now we're up to 1,115. Nearly doubled in a single day. |
I saw the petition was referenced on Nerdist, which probably accounts for the bump.
As good as the petition is, I keep thinking that giving CN a financial incentive would help too. A lot of small market/independent authors do an Amazon rush when their books come out. The basic idea is, everyone agrees to buy the books at a certain time. The theory is that the sales spike will boost the book's position, and thus bring more eyes to it. I'm wondering if something like this would work for Thundercats? I was originally proposing on Tumblr to do it after the season finale, but thanks to work being crazy busy, I wasn't able to promote the idea in time. But if everyone went on Amazon and bought a single episode of the series at $1.99(which I think isn't a big investment if you really want the show to continue), and gave the show a decent bump in its sales ranking, that would be a good sign to CN that the fans can provide a financial impact to keep the series going. Again, not sure if it would make a difference, but I figured it was worth putting out there. |
Let the show die.
its terrible and it resembles little of the original. If you want decent figures or the real T-cats, at least buy the Mezco or Icon Heroes stactions. |
200 more sigs since this morning. Not spectacular but I'm happy to see that after an 11 hour work day.
This show needs to live! |
less than 200 to go

I'm prepared for the end but I'm hoping for it to continue... this is going to be a tense couple weeks as a fan... |
I would like to point out that the petition has broken 1500 signatures and growing constantly. The shoutouts from MTV.com and other websites, and even Larry Kenney himself have really boosted it.
There's hope, it's a faint hope, but a hope nonetheless. |
Ya know, I really do have to question WHY this isn't stickied to the front page of the site. Joe man, don't you want to make a difference?

Dear mods, please front page this asap please! I was just made aware of this petition by stumbling upon a thread about it on a He-Man site. This should up for everyone to see when they first visit this site.
|
btw signatures are now at 2399
|
it's a shame, the series might not be the best in the world, and I quite like, but it is sad that in the whole world, with 65,000,000 people, only have 2000 signatures worldwide, that is very little. T.T I liked the show, snif

It's more than likely a matter of awareness, and especially making people aware that this petition is from someone who's close to the staff of the network. The fact is, that this petition is getting hundreds of signatures every day. It won't make 5000 signatures tomorrow, but it is making a decent bit of progress. I would promote everyone here to post a link to this petition via twitter, facebook, and whatever other social media outlets are available to you. Make sure you tag everything appropriately too so those hot topics stick out like sore thumbs. I tell you guys, my twatter is full of this petition. |

If you want to know why thundercats is being cancelled read this interview. It's a very informative article from Marisha Ray who is Matthew Mercer's girlfriend.
We need more signatures to save Thundercats!!!. Dan Norton even mentions that episode 26 is the final episode until they hear otherwise. I hope the CN bigwigs wake up and realize what a great show and fan base they have and green light a 2nd season! Save The Thundercats! « Pure Nerd-Nip |
was just about to post that dragon lol

The issues with the storyline and writing are a different issue altogether and a matter of personal opinion. WB wants to see the $$$ and its a shame there own stupidity is the very reason it wasn't successful in that department. I am still hoping that between the petition, good DVD sales, and a good run in the international community, something changes. |

I do not believe it was really kids IMO, I believe it was more of the 13-30 age group. |

On the other hand I found "The Forever Bag" episode to be too kiddy but it was a hit in the ratings for young children. |
Dan norton mentioned that episode 26 is the last episode until he hears otherwise. He mentioned that there is still hope for it though. They are basically in limbo until the execs make up their minds.
I believe that since Marisha, being proactive and starting this petition before CN makes their decision, gives Thundercats a better chance of staying alive. I've never really wrote in forums before so this is basically one of the rare times I've done it. I really love thundercats and want it to keep going on for as long as it can. I also signed the petition for SymBionic Titans when it began but I think the movement was too late since the petition had started after the announced cancellation of the show. SymBionic also didn't have a chance since the creator Genddy, from frustration with CN went to Sony to work on his "monsters" feature. Genddy was very vocal that the show was cancelled due to it not having any merchandise. At least thundercats has had merchandise that have sold okay. I've also been spreading and posting the link to the petition everywhere. I've contacted CN a few times and wrote a nice but passionate letter to them. It's great that we have about 3,000 signatures but I know there are so many more fans out there. Their are 1.3 million fans on the official Thundercats FB page so we can definitely get more signatures. I even gave it a shot and asked them to put the link to the petition but they never responded. I knew they would not respond but I wanted to give it a shot. Anyways, I guess we just need to keep doing our best to save the show until we hear otherwise. |

Dark, edgy, and mature was what MJ said he wanted the feel of the show to be yet their target crowd was 6-11. If this is true, then CN was right with the Adult time slot. I think where things slipped up is between WB and MJ. Since the toy line was big, then WB should've made sure MJ change his theme. |
It really isn't any more adult than shows like Young Justice or Legend of Korra.
|
If anyone is going to PopCon LA they're going to be giving away free Save ThunderCats T-shirts.
Sorry if you can't see the photo. It's set to "friends of friends." |
James Rolfe's review of ThunderCats mentions the petition to save new ThunderCats under the video: Thundercats | Cinemassacre Productions
We're well above 4000 signatures now, I am pleased. |
We just, JUST hit 5000 signatures!
