My Custom Sword of Omens
1 Attachment(s)
Hey every body,
I'm pretty new to the forums, but wanted to share some pics of my custom Sword of Omens. I bought a light-up sword of omens replica and was disapointed in the way it looked, plus the light-up feature stopped working in less than an hour, the batteries could not be removed, the electronics were junk and the eye of Thunderra was a crappy sticker. So I removed the electronics, customized it, and now it looks great! All I did was paint the details on the cross bars, replace the eye piece with the new 2011 bandai toy part, replace the red gems on the hilt with blue, and place a red gem on the bottom of the pommel. The pictures really don't do this sword justice, in person this sword is breath taking! What do think of it? http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0686.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0685.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0684.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0683.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0682.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0681.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...100_0680-1.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0679.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...s/100_0678.jpg |
Looks really good!!!

Is that the eye from the toy? If so thats a slick transfer. Ive wanted that sword for a while but that blade is just insanely long.
|
Thanks >EXO<!

Thanks guys! The eye piece is from the new toy, it fits perfectly. The blade lenght is actually perfect for me. It looks longer in the pictures.
|
I'm 6ft and the sword looks in scale to me like the classics Lion-o figures sword looks in his hands. The balance is not bad, it has a good solid two handed grip.
|
Problem for me was the blade isnt accurate to the style guides proportions... im nuts like that lol. Do you think with this layout it would be possible to remove the blade? Most swords you just twist and the parts become seperate.
|
I hear ya. Yes the blade can be removed, but the battery pack in my sword was in the way. I had to remove the battery pack to get to the nut that secures the blade. You need a socket wrench, a 6 inch extension and a 13mm deep socket to remove the blade. The switch for the LED's in glued in the handle, so the LED wiring runs between the handle and the cross bars.

:cool:nice job. its a slick looking sword

well guess we know what i'll be doing this winter ;) Thanks for the info bro! Very detailed. Plan on doing a claw sheild? |
I think it looks great. Nice job!
|
A Claw Shield would be awesome, but I have no plans to make one...yet.
Thanks Purrsia! |
LOVE IT!!!
That is probably the most accurate one I have seen. I also tried to customize my sword (the same model) but when I received from ebay, it was already pretty beaten up. Can you send me a slightly more detailed tutorial about how you put these pieces together? Keep up the great work! |
Thanks! Mine came pretty beaten up as well, like I said the LED's stopped working in less than an hour. They are just poorly made, but the handle mold looks great and with a little work you can have a more accurate replica.

this thing is cool, great work

My mouth's watering.
|
Thanks a lot you guy's! I appreciate the feedback.

I think its sweet bro,I just received my light up sword of omens as well and I feel the exact same way as you! How did u get the middle piece off to replace it with the toy logo?did you just twist it off? And did u glue the toy piece on or does it just snap in? Also what did u use to color it? Real nice bro!
